We stayed here one night (our first night after a verrrry long day of walking from Ferrol) while doing the Camino. Good location, as it's right on the path, and thank God for that because given the mountain you have to climb to get there, it would've been devastating if it'd taken us off course even the slightest bit! The hotel is very clean and bright. Our reservation was for one room with 2 twin beds, but when we got there, we were given a room with one full size bed and a cot. Not ideal. But after 18 miles of walking, we were just happy to have a place to sleep. The next morning though, we discovered--while chatting with 2 other guests at breakfast--that they'd reserved one room with a single bed and been given--you guessed it--one room with 2 twins. In the end everything was fine, but I'm not sure why we weren't switched once the staff realized the error. Anyway, the room was nice--bright, comfortable, super clean, with a couple of lovely balconies on the windows. Breakfast the next morning was lovely (the standard Spanish breakfast of jamon, bread, cake, tomate or jam, and coffee/fresh juice). I can't have gluten and had notified them in advance, so when we arrived while we didn't get our 2 twin beds, I did get a whole loaf of GF bread just for me! That was great. The woman working (Mari--so funny and nice) made sure we had everything we needed. Heads up though that the staff we interacted with didn't speak English, so make sure you have some Spanish to communicate here! Mari sent us away in the morning with tons of cake, a few oranges, and lots of laughs. FYI that if you're using Google maps as you climb up through the narrow Pontedeume streets to get to Montebreamo, it'll tell you to go up and around the building to get to the front door. But that's not necessary; there's a door on the camino side!

Casa do Castelo de Andrade is situated 6,5 km. from the medieval town of Pontedeume. It is made up of three buildings, surrounded by land known as Chousa do Conde, 60,000 m2 of open fields and forests, and with the only neighbour being the nearby Andrade Castle, which can be seen from the house. The origins of the house and its connection with the castle are unknown, but it is thought that it dates back at least 300 years. The setting up of Casa do Castelo de Andrade meant more than a year of restoration, preserving the buildings and recovering the scenery around it, after more than 40 years of neglect. Today, the house offers 10 double en-suite rooms and common areas decorated with restored furniture and other features that go with the time and style of the house, but also with a touch of modernism, aimed at the comfort of our guests: one room has a hydrotherapy bath and another five have hydrotherapy showers, 1.5 m. by 2 metre beds, with latex mattresses in all the rooms.
This was one of our favorite stays while in Spain. The owners could not have been nicer or more helpful. The Inn has incredible charm and the breakfast was amazing. Sitting out on the lawn in the evenings overlooking the town reading is a perfect way to spend the end of a touring day. I really can not say enough about the wonderful experience we had.

We had a nice room in this period property and were welcomed by the owner. Unfortunately although it was a Tuesday night it was in the middle of the Festival of the Pears with bed-shaking loud music in the square close by which started at nearly 11pm and went on until stupid o'clock. Otherwise it would have been a lovely quiet stay and a recommended place. Breakfast was at a nearby bar and again the owner could not have been nicer and more helpful.

My wife and I stayed at Pension Meson Paz whilst walking the Camino Ingles. On arrival the owner was friendly and even with our very poor Spanish we understood his instructions and were shown to our room. The room was large with a double and single bed, the bathroom was also large. However, both rooms appeared grubby and in need of a good clean, the blankets on the bed also looked in need of a good wash. I think if we hadn't prebooked and walked 30km that day we would have carried on walking.

Walking Camino and my tour company Galiwanders arranged an overnight here with lunch. Apart from the location which is very convenient this one to two star lodging has little to commend it. The rooms are basic and cold, the linen is old and worn and the restaurant I was served lunch in which was about as inviting as a McDonald’s and produced a main course cold which they microwaved after I complained!-the worst lunch I have ever experienced in years of visiting Spain. It was obvious my tour company knew nothing about the place despite claiming that none of their previous clients had complained!!
