Hotel Petaluma proudly offers stylish and comfortable rooms in this renovated historic 1923 hotel. Restaurants, wine tasting, shopping, and transit options are literally steps away from this beautiful historic gem. All rooms have private en suite bathrooms with Roam bath amenities, 4K televisions, Bluetooth clocks, Keurig coffee makers with Maud's gourmet coffee, full-sized ironing boards, irons, hair dryers and extra blanket.
Charming hotel in the heart of downtown. Beautiful decor and warm, friendly staff. Rooms are on small side and no breakfast at location; but no charge for water bottles, granola bars and Keurig in room. Nice free coffee and tea bar by the front desk so I got a peppermint tea before heading back to my room each night. Front desk gave me a coin for $2 off a cocktail at the Shuckery next door so I had dinner there the first night. Walked to brew pub by the water on the second night. Lots of cute shops and restaurants downtown that are easy to walk to. Definitely enjoyed my stay and would stay here again!

Unique style that'll make you feel like you're miles away in a chic French inn, yet feel right at home. Luxurious queen beds, a clawfoot tub and shower, cable TV, maid service, not to mention complimentary crepes and pour over coffee in the morning! Located in Sonoma County Wine Country. Only non smoking rooms.
I'm sitting in the Metro Hotel's breakfast crepes bar, with a cup of expresso, watching a woman in a cat pajama top spread Nutella and strawberries on a plate of crepes. Sun streams in through the French doors and across the face of Brigette Bardot on an enlarged cover of Paris Match, announcing BB's marriage. Petaluma is enough of a destination in and of itself (great thrift shops, by the way), but the Metro Hotel is enough to lure me for at least a one-night stay. I'd stay a week, if I could -- to play a game of boules in the courtyard, to take long baths in deep claw-foot tubs, to just enjoy the ambiance of the cheery breakfast bar before heading out for the day. This is no boxed cereal, bland, tv-blaring generic lounge. It's a place to either sit in solitude or gather in the evening, perhaps indulging in a bottle of reasonably priced champagne or wine, with friends. Rooms at the Metro are not cookie-cutter, though they are all outfitted with down comforters, a bucket, corkscrew and glasses for wine and big screen televisions, along with good lighting and minimalist decor that references iconic French images. If you want to go in another direction, the courtyard with the boules court (and Weber grill) includes a couple of vintage Airstream trailers. And for families, there is a three-bedroom cabin inside the gates. Not to mention there is plenty of off-street parking. If you are in or near Petaluma, definitely make the Metro your home base.

I only stayed in Petaluma for one night, but after reading the reviews of a couple of other hotels in the area, I was a little spooked so I picked this Hampton Inn. I was SO glad I did. It was immaculately clean and the service was prompt and efficient. The place has a cool style (from the converted commercial building) - I wish all Hampton Inns were so good! My room was very clean, the bed was surprisingly comfortable and plush. I didn't have a chance to enjoy the breakfast, but it looked great. My only two notes for improvement: the shower floor is pretty slippery so maybe a sticker or something to just make it a little less so. And the parking is very spacious but I parked in the "back" (the side near the main room) - and couldn't come in through that door because it was locked. Once you have a room key, it is easy to get in that way. But I didn't want to drag my heavy suitcase around the building so I called to ask them to let me in - which they did. No big deal but it would've been nice to have a buzzer at the back door for people checking in.

Rooms were very clean and made up each day. Pool was heated as promised. The breakfast buffet could use additional protein. We had a one bed queen room and it was in the small side. There were excellent restaurants within a five minute walk and shopping center was across the street. The HVAC was noisy.

At the southern edge of Petaluma, one of the oldest cites in California founded in 1858, stands the distinctive Cape Cod style complex of buildings that is the Quality Inn Petaluma. Rated three diamonds by AAA, the 108 room hotel serves as the travelers comfortable and convenient hub to historic downtown, pacific coast beaches, wetland hiking trails, golf courses, wineries and family farms.
I loved this hotel. The staff were always around cleaning something and they seemed genuinely pleasant. And while the whole place could use a fresh coat of paint, everything was clean and smelled clean. We were there for a wedding event and most of the party stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. We chose Quality Inn because I just couldn't stomach the idea of paying so much money that the Sheraton wanted. But because most of the party was there, we spent most of our time at the Sheraton. Here are some differences: S=$$$ Q=$$. S=Not clean (the cushions in the dining room and carpets were HORRIBLE Q=Very clean, S=Staff was okay but no smiles Q=Accommodating (one member even saw that I was having a hard time making a bow for my gift and she offered to do it for me-had the wire and everything as she used to work in a florist shop) and they were all smiling. S=No breakfast-not even free coffee on the tables and/or lobby Q=FREE (wonderful) continental breakfast.

Nice new Courtyard, good sized rooms and about a mile from downtown. Not walkable but given the price is a good deal. A few minor issues, squeaky door, few washcloths, but nice design and good for trip to coast or Petaluma’s cute Downtown.
