Great place to stay, close to castle. They come to pick you up in minutes and take you to this wonderful white home in the country side that is run by a brother and sister. They are truly lovely and very caring. We had a very rainy day and it was really a flash back to childhood to stay in the place with all the rain outside. Dinner was very good and the place is very clean.

I'm posting a very late review of the wonderful Albergue Casa Sabela from my time walking the Camino Frances in Oct/Nov 2019 - a lifetime ago! I had begun to experience some pain in my leg (shin splints) which required me to take a break earlier than expected that day. The Albergue is only a very short distance off the trail - I walked it in 10 mins and met Mar in the car coming to pick me up. Honestly if you are fit and able I wouldn't think twice about the minor detour to the Albergue. The place, like the people, is fantastic - warm, welcoming and for me at that moment in time a place where I could recuperate in comfort. The accommodation is fantastic and before dinner the various guests assembled in the living room in front of a roaring fire, meeting, chatting and exchanging tales. Even though it was the end of the season there were still quite a few people there and we had dinner together - an amazing paella with all the trappings. Most important however was the friendly and authentic helpfulness provided by Mar and her husband. She went out of her way to help me with a particular request I had. This place is wonderful I would recommend it any time o f the year. Hopefully the Camino will open up soon and I highly recommend this Albergue as a warm and welcoming place to rest your head and nourish the soul. x

O Castelo is the first hostel of Palas de Rei. It is also the first accommodation that can be found entering the town on the Camino de Santiago. It is situated in a privileged area in the middle of the nature, which guarantees relaxation in a very calm and familiar atmosphere.
Had a lovely room (No.2) overlooking the street. Bright & Clean. Check-in lady was great, very friendly, helpful & welcoming. Kitchen & washing facilities if you need them. Good value, only thing would be softer pillows!!

Guests can also store their bicycles at the apartments for free. Santiago de Compostela is 70 km away, and Lugo can be reached in a 20-minute drive. Recommended for families and groups of friends.
Our apartment was a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment with living room, kitchen with a clothes washer (no dryer...but you can hang clothes to dry on the balcony). Wonderful. Everything was very clean. It was not far from the Camino route (maybe a 7 minute walk). The only issue is that the water temperature was difficult to regulate. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

CASH ONLY. Climb up stairs. Free coffee and tea. Nice kitchen. Has terrace. Friendly staff. Had a private room with a shared bath and in my room I actually have a little sink as well. Room is about 11x13. Twin bed. Clean and I have my own balcony with a hanger to dry my clothes on. I haven't seen the bathroom shower yet.

I stayed in this place as part of an organized tour from Walk the Camino. If there was a negative star, that would be too high of a rating. The rooms are old, damp & very uncomfortable. Bathroom had mold on the walls & shower. Our bed sheets were wet since the room was so damp. At breakfast our waitress was rude & refused to give us more food when 2 of us arrived & there was nothing left. Do not stay here!!!

Hotel complex on the Camino de Santiago. Completely new construction (2016-2017), it has a total of 16 rooms, all finished in wood to provide a much more warm and welcoming. It has 11 double rooms with 2 beds, 2 double rooms with 1 bed of 150, 1 triple room and another quadruple (special for groups) and 1 room adapted for people with reduced mobility. All of them have a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi for all our guests, heating, lift, bicycle storage, hair dryer, reception service and restaurant with terrace open from 6am.
I was one of 2 peregrinas who stayed here for one night in April 2022. This was not my best choice on the Camino. The room was disappointing, dark, and I would not recommend. The restaurant was very nice, though, and the location was fine. The bathroom was tiny (not unusual) but the shower stall floor had 2 separate levels and we had to take care that we didn't slip. I could not figure it out! I won't pick another room based on the razzle dazzle of the website ever again. The wifi didn't work while we were there but that was a problem with the provider, not the hotel.

We stayed there during our camino and it was rated as a superior accommodation. The rooms were clean and neat we stayed in the main building on the ground floor the rooms are not sound proof so all the noise from adjacent or above is heard .When we arrived at 14:30 after a 27 km walk we wanted to eat and were told the restaurant is full dinner is 19:30 The dinner was fine Not impressed with the host attitude towards guest I hope i was an exception
