When Sedia Riverside Hotel was originally built, no trees were felled, which together with the accompanying undergrowth, encourages resident frogs, monitor lizards, squirrels, mongeese, genets and prolific birdlife to share the habitat offered in the verdant grounds of the hotel. Hueglins robins, coucals, hornbills and our resident red-billed francolin families are a common sighting within the grounds. The Sedia Riverside Hotel, a five minute drive from Maun Airport, has a very inviting and welcoming atmosphere, offering guests a unique venue in which to unwind, relax and enjoy personalized service in an environment exuding character.
The Hotel is situated around 6km along the main road from the town and airport in beautiful grounds with a well maintained pool deck with a lovely poolside restaurant, which has a varied and very well executed menu. One wing of the hotel contains newly renovated rooms which are furnished to a very high standards, overlooking the restaurant & pool. I initially stayed in the other un renovated wing (which I believe is on the list to be renovated soon), on the opposite side of the property. These rooms are in need of a little attention but are none the less, spacious and well equipped with individual balconies. There are also several houses and chalets in the grounds if you want a more personal & luxurious experience. Although they decor in my room was a little disappointing, I was perfectly content here until the evening when the bar next to the hotel, which unfortunately is situated adjacent to this accommodation wing, opened and played loud, thumping club music way into the night. It became impossible to attempt sleep and resulted in a very uncomfortable sleepless night. It felt like the speakers were directly outside my door at one point. The following morning, the staff, especially Blessing, the customer service manager, were beyond helpful and moved me to the other side of hotel without question which meant I had 2 peaceful nights. I feel so sorry for the hotel and the staff who have to put up with this noise pollution, it’s totally unsociable. I fully appreciate that this problem is beyond the hotel’s jurisdiction and it appears they have had problems with the bar before, however a true mark of an establishment’s level of professionalism can only be measured by the exemplary way their staff deal with problems and I have no complaints there. So, if you manage to avoid the un renovated wing, or at least hope that the noise problems are resolved soon, this is a fabulous property and I’d return again.

Nice and clean The room was to the standard I expected Location was central to my activities! The service provision was top notch. The level of attention to detail during our ordering of breakfast and the freshness thereof will make me to always use these facilities. But you should work on providing gym activities I was forced to take a road workout during my stay.

i have stayed at the TRL four or five times. I have travelled to Botswana 5 times in the past 10 years. I have read the "bad" review on the TRL which was posted by a visitor who was there in October 2021. I was there in September 2021. We stayed 2 nights. The TRL has always been lovely when I've been there. The rooms (the "babblers') have always been clean, well laid out, and fresh. The food has always been good. I have never encountered a rude or uncaring staff member. The reception that I have received every time I have stayed at the TRL has been welcoming, polite and helpful. I have always had help taking my luggage to my room (I have never had to ask... it is simply done as a matter of course.) The pool is not large, but it has always been clean. If I have ever needed something, the staff has been quick to respond and provide. The negative review I read prompted me to write this review. Frankly, when I read that review I wondered if we were talking about the same lodge. I love the TRL and it has been and likely always will be my first choice for accommodation in Maun.

My daughter and I stayed twice durig our our week long visit to the okavango Delta. For us it was the perfect place to base our visit. It's location in a small nature reserve on the banks of the river and yet in close proximity to Maun is hard to beat. Accommodation in the huts has everything I'd expect from a good down to earth African lodge - nothing pretentious but still very clean, spacious and comfortable. Excellent value for money. After a long drive a refreshing swim in the pool, a beautiful walk in the reserve and finally a cold beer and a tasty meal overlooking the river. What more do you need! But the best was to come. Ours was a spontaneous visit so we arrived by road with nothing really planned or booked beforehand. In no time at all they helped us plan and then book what then proved to be a simply amazing and wonderful experience in the delta. Thank you Britt and Sean for making a dream come true. Without doubt the highlight of our road trip through Botswana and Namibia. I sincerely hope this will not be our first and last visit to the Okavango.
