Clean comfortable room, good parking. Nice restaurant with good menu and nice food. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall excellent value for money and would stay at this hotel again. The breakfast and dinner meal deal were excellent value.

Our eight fully-refurbished en-suite bedrooms are available throughout the week, so making a night of it at the Staunton Arms has now been made even simpler. We also have a spacious family room, with separate twin room, sofa bed and Wii facilities.
I ordered a burger to take away whilst staying locally. Ordered to pick it up at a certain time but I got it and the burger was inedible, and the chips and onion ring very soggy. I don’t know if this was because they had it ready long before the time I was collecting it but it was a complete waste of money and maybe one of the worst burgers I’ve had… Must be better to eat in but they shouldn’t offer takeaway if they can’t do it half way decently.

Recently reopened and under new management, The Bramley Apple is a traditional pub in the heart of historic Southwell, serving the local community with a fantastic selection of Alcoholic drinks and guest ales from local breweries, as well as fine wines, and a few of the usual favourites. We also have four B&B rooms available, all with en-suite facilities.
Stayed her overnight as we was at a wedding up the rd. Price we paid for B&B was great. The rooms are in need of some TLC but it was nice and pleasant place for an overnight stay. The breakfast was basic but tasty. The new owners have only had it a few months and told me about their plans to modernise which sound great.

Dated, run down building, damp type smells in the corridor’s. Room was dirty, the toilet seat area had not been wiped down from the previous guest. Only had toast and some cereal for breaky so can’t pass comment on that, did not use my business allowance in the restaurant as value my insides.

We booked via an app which had several photos of a laid out restaurant and talked of fine dining - none of which was available! Even breakfast was an unattended continental that wasn't restocked. Packet Danish and croissant - not even fresh! Fruit was a plate of semi solid melon - given it was out on the table it felt semi-frozen On check out the receptionist showed no interest in whether we'd enjoyed our stay - maybe because she guessed it was disappointing or maybe because they don't care. Oh and no one on site at night - a message on the reception phone a number - not a lot of use if there's a problem stopping you getting to reception

Tudor Farm is a 300 year old detached farmhouse, in the centre of this historic village of Elston. We aim to provide comfortable accommodations where the emphasis is on "a home from home." All our produce is locally sourced wherever possible.
Myself and my partner stayed at this beautiful b&b for a one night stay having booked a day spa at Eden Hall Spa in Elston. This amazing little gem is a wonderful place to stay and I am so happy we found it. (I don’t write reviews often but I do when it is deserved). We arrived early in the morning at Tudor Farm so we could park our car and walk to the spa. I had contacted Carol (the b&b owner) prior to our arrival, to ask could we park our car despite not checking in until the afternoon and she replied really quickly saying it wasn’t a problem. Nothing is too much trouble for this lovely lady. As we were there early, she had prepared our room which was a pleasant surprise as we weren’t suppose to check in until later that day. I appreciate this may not always be the case but again, she did everything to make our stay easy and enjoyable. The room was homely, beautifully decorated and was stunning as you would expect from a cottage :))) From the location of this b&b, to the actual cottage itself, the whole place is just stunning. There is a beautiful garden where you can sit outside or a stunning lounge if you didn’t fancy sitting in your room. Within the room, you will find an amazing country cottage bedroom with lovely small touches such as milk in the fridge, soft pillows and toiletries in the bathroom. In the morning, there was a beautifully cooked English breakfast, along with fruit juice, fruit and a nice cup of English tea :))) Carol clearly works so hard and was a joy to meet! Thankyou for a lovely stay! We will be back :)) Nicola & Chris

Visited with three kids in Feb 2021 and were looking for basic but comfortable accommodation in Southwell, close to the NTU campus. We were very happy with what the Crown provided, with basic but comfortable rooms above a pub which was friendly, welcoming and reasonably priced. The staff were extremely helpful, and the value for money excellent.

The Plough Retreat offers a comfortable stay in a convenient village location just outside of Newark On Trent. Within a 5 minute drive you can be at Newark Showground, The National Civil War Centre or Newark Castle. If you’re visiting for a celebration, Kelham Hall and Stubton Hall are just 11 minutes away by car. Our apartments have en-suite shower rooms to freshen up and kitchenettes to rustle something up. We have three types of rooms available, a double room, twin room and two deluxe rooms. The double and twin rooms have their own private shower rooms and kitchenettes and sleep up to two. The deluxe rooms sleep up to three people and have an additional lounge, sofa bed, full kitchen, dining table and chairs.
Bedding had the appearance of not been changed, not fresh, old bedding at best, hair in the bedding pillows flat and old. Only one chair to use at the table. Musty smell in the room. Very disappointed with the standard not what was expected.
