Top 10 hotels in New Orleans, United States

August 5, 2022 Kiesha Cripe

With a little bit of this and a little bit of that all mixed together with flair and panache, beautifully vibrant New Orleans has made the most of marks left by whomever was calling the shots during whatever era over the past few centuries. Hardly a hodgepodge, the result of such a distinctive blend of cultures is an enchanting cityscape, a set of unique traditions that continuously delight the world, and a jaunty way of living that must be experienced to be appreciated.

NOLA Fun???

My wife and I retreated to New Orleans just before Mardi Gras. We stayed at the Cambria and loved every moment of it. The Legacy Kitchen next door to the hotel had the best chicken and waffles. We also thoroughly enjoyed our seafood meal at Grand Isle Restaurant. The hotel is located in the CBD between the Riverwalk Mall and the Superdome. All the amenities were spot on, great stay in New Orleans.

Most of the staff are great, warm and genuine. My experience at the lobby bar for breakfast was not good at all. I had breakfast in the restaurant and food and service was great. Rooms are small and A/C is loud. Checked out at 3am to catch early flight and 30 minutes to get car and never got a bill.

Phenomenal LAB Convention Stay

Reviewed By LABroadcasters

The Hotel Monteleone outdid themselves accommodating the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters Annual Convention. While planning the event, Kristie, Stephanie, Tramon, and Terri were extremely helpful and attentive to our needs and questions. Our valet Carlos was very kind and loaded a ton of things we brought down for the convention into our car. Our bellmen coming and going, Daniel and Michael, ensured our things made its way safely and were a pleasure to work with. Once the Convention was rolling, Robert and his partner, (who's name I unfortunately can't recall) were up and down between our meeting rooms, constantly ensuring everything was taken care of, from water refills to going out of their way to help our staff assemble and position a large step and repeat banner. Dennis and Kristie were constant, hard-working reliant contacts throughout our entire stay. They both truly did whatever they could to ensure our event and needs were being taken care of. Tramon and Aaron in AV definitely got their steps in walking down to Royal Rooms and always came with a solution when AV snafus arose. In the lobby, Noor was very kind and helpful as well. The catering staff, as always, were attentive and a genuine pleasure to work with. Especially Bob and his manager, who allowed Bob to play live piano for our Closing Celebration in the Riverview Room after we heard him practice during his break while the room was being set up (if you need a great piano player, hire Bob!). It was the perfect way to end our Convention. The Hotel Monteleone is one of the best places to stay in New Orleans, whether staying for a business conference or for vacation. Its a beautiful facility with rich history and wonderful employees who always seem to have a smile on their face. We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this hotel more and more each time I stay there - my original stay was years ago when they first opened their doors for my sisters wedding. The vibes are immacualte and the staff is unmatched! I have stayed a couple times since, but this past Memorial Day weekend was such an awesome visit I felt compelled to leave a review. Asia and the rest of the front desk/concierge staff were super accomadtive to not only get us into my favorite room, but also let us check in early so we could change, drop our bags and go explore NOLA. The DJ's at the rooftop pool bar (ALTO) were spinning fantastic tunes and the downstairs lobby was so relaxed & welcoming (with the Air Conditioning PUMPING 24/7!) - this place is a must stay!

Mostly good but needs some work

Reviewed By S81U

We have been to New Orleans dozens of times but not since before Covid. Our regular hotel has apparently gone downhill so we were in search of a new one. The Bourbon Orleans is a really beautiful hotel in a great location. It’s extremely convenient to everything in the French Quarter and easy to find. We stayed in a balcony loft room which was very nice and comfortable. The bed was great and the shower was also excellent. Sometimes in an old building, I’ve found that the shower leaves much to be desired but that was not the case here. Our balcony overlooked St. Ann but was right on the corner of Bourbon. More on that later. The pool area was beautiful and the pool was lovely and clean. As for the negatives, the largest issue stems from the lack of housekeeping services and services in general. I completely understand and appreciate Covid protocols that are in place, but you can’t use that as an excuse for no amenities when no one in the hotel is wearing a mask. There is no housekeeping service and if you ask, you may or may not get any. It’s a luxury to stay in a hotel of this caliber and things like a made bed and fresh towels contribute to the quality of the trip. There were beads and garbage still left on our balcony from someone who has previously stayed. Some of the staff seemed to have a completely disinterested attitude that was more like “what do you want from me?” as opposed to “how can we make your stay excellent?” If you cannot provide appropriate service to your guests, perhaps you should not book so many rooms. The bar is open only at night and the restaurant is open on a limited basis. Our room was beautiful but, due to its location, very very loud. We dealt with it but this is something that should have been expressed to us at check in. Perhaps we could have been advised that it would sound like Bourbon Street was inside of our room until about 3am and given the option of the loft balcony in another location. While the room, pool, and location were excellent, the lack of service made the hotel feel cheaper than it should.
