Michael and Roberto were wonderful hosts. The B&B is absolutely beautiful and close proximity to the town centre. The decor and design of the house immediately feels as though you are in upstate New York. Be sure to check out the backyard and beautiful garden, you will like you are a world away from the city. A quick 25-30 min drive in to Hobart City and only 20 mins from Mona, the Derwent Valley is a must see.

A beautiful farmstay experience with excellent facilities and the most wholesome hosts. We stumbled across Heimat Chalets trying to find a place for our motorhome for the night; Katie & Bill were so accommodating and truly make it feel so homely. The farm itself is picturesque, so lovely to wander around, with gorgeous variety of animals which we got to feed up in the morning. The accomodation was excellent; clean with a great rustic vibe. I loved the communal house with the fireplace and games/books. I also appreciated that the motorhome sites come with their own ensuite and kitchen sink facilities to save on using ours for the night, such a treat. The lovely fresh flowers in the ensuite did not go unnoticed; you can tell the hosts take great pride in their place. Wish we could have stayed much longer. Highly recommended and will definitely stay again.

The Junction... Where country vibe and prices- meets city service.. The Junction Motel is a clean, value for money 30 room, Motel and Function Centre situated in the picturesque town of New Norfolk, the gateway to the West Coast and Wilderness National Parks- Mt Field, Styx Valley and Lake Pedder. The "Best Food experience" awarding winning Agrarian Kitchen is 10 mins walk away. Whilst also being just 30 minutes from Tasmania's capital city - Hobart or what the locals call Slobart. Also only 15 minutes away from the much controversial and Fabulous Mona Museum of Old and New Art at Moorilla Estate Vineyard (Berridale). Port Arthur and the Huon-Valley are about one and a half hours drive from New Norfolk.
Where do I even start? Well, imagine walking through a small garden and all you can smell is dog poo as you enter the reception area only to find one of the staff swearing and cursing at the top of there voice to which they don’t apologise for. That was my first impression and it was all downhill from there. Room was tiny and cluttered with a god awful smell which we later realised was a sewage smell. When I booked I read that the rooms had been recently renovated which was not the case. The exhaust fan in the shower was being held up by tape and our door could be pulled open even though it was locked. Tiny little double bed to sleep in. Thank goodness we were only here for one night! There is no way on this planet I would ever stay here again!

Duffy's offers fully self-contained accommodation in a quiet country setting. The perfect location to rest whether traveling from Strahan to Hobart. Great for overnight stays or a base for your Mt Field and Styx experience. The Ranger's cottage provides ideal accommodation for families or traveling couples. It has two double bedrooms, an open plan full size kitchen, dining and lounge room with a wood heater. The Berryfields cabin is surrounded by garden and all things country. It provides perfect accommodation for couples, comfortable open plan living with kitchen facilities and an en-suite bathroom. Laundry facilities are also available.
Calming, is how I would describe it, Beautiful gardens, with lovely bird (and farm animal) noises, great bed/pillows, a new Daikan AC, very well appointed. My only disappointment, was that we only booked one night, would love to go back and spend a few there, doing not much.

Stopped in here while cycling the Tassie Trail. The new owners are incredibly hospitable and the rooms are charming. But the real show stopper was the breakfast. Vegan and vegetarians are very well catered for with coconut yoghurt, stewed plums and granola, sourdough toast with spread, plus home make beans with salad and a mountain of avocado.

The Woodbridge Tasmania is a spectacular Heritage listed (very) small. boutique hotel on the banks of the Derwent River. “Less an hotel and more like being given the keys to a friend’s country mansion”, The Woodbridge has only nine suites and rooms, and a maximum of 18 guests. We do things a little differently at The Woodbridge. The Woodbridge is not your routine 5 star hotel, and is operated much as a grand mansion of yesteryear where the mansion is the guests’ domain and the staff attend as required. It is relaxed, welcoming and unpretentious, making guests feel ‘at home’. If you want an ordinary 5 star hotel where you fit into the staff’s space, we are not the place for you. If you want pomp and ceremony and ostentation and bling, we are not the place for you. Amenities include the Reading Boom, the Ballroom, the riverfront Pavilion and a guest laundry and mud room with sauna and hot-tub. The Valley and the river provide walks, wilderness, cycling, kayaking, water bikes, downhill biking, fly fishing, wineries, distilleries, farm-based breweries, cooking schools and award winning restaurants We offer a full concierge service, and we establish mobile connectivity so we are available to guests for suggestions, directions or advice at any time. Breakfast is served in the riverside Pavilion. In response to changing guest eating preferences, The Woodbridge now offers convenient light meals for a late lunch or an early night ‘at home’. The Woodbridge is fully licensed and holds some exceptional wines in its cellars. Join us in one of Australia's oldest Grand Homes.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this heritage hotel. It has been so beautifully restored. I loved experiencing the history of this area first hand. We were delighted with the help of Madhu, who went above and beyond in her care and kindness to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thank you to everyone at this hotel for such care of our history. Wonderful!

Hidden behind hawthorn hedges and set in 5 hectares of park-like pasture and gardens overlooking the Derwent River, historical Glen Derwent is a 200-year-old, convict-built mansion, classified by The National Trust and included on the Heritage Council of Tasmania Register. Glen Derwent offers accommodation in self-contained cottages and its servants' quarters. The house, sandstone outbuildings and landscaped grounds offer the perfect location for a wedding, garden party or a corporate retreat, or just a pleasant Devonshire tea or picnic lunch.
I attended a wedding at Glen Derwent January 2019 and we stayed onsite in the accommodation, it was absolutely perfect! Amazing gardens, beautiful surrounds and so peaceful. Staff were all fantastic to communicate with to ensure we had a fantastic stay. Highly recommend staying here.

Pat and Garry were wonderful, welcomed us and provided wonderful service. The food for dinner was amazing, meats so tender and the appetisers and dessert were yummo. As the only ones dining in, the service was second to none. The old house is full of history, even in our room which was very comfortable.
