The simple fact that the washroom had a night light made this the best room ever. a commonly overlooked feature at hotels but very important. I hate having to turn on the overhead bright lights when using the washroom in the middle of the night.

This hotel is SO clean and the rooms are well kept. The beds are comfortable and the staff are amazing. The breakfast was also a plus; everything you would need including bacon, eggs, ham, toast, waffle station, juice, fruit, cereal, etc. The location is also perfect, only minutes from the mall and lots of restaurants. If you stay here be sure to stay on the 4th floor. The housekeeping lady Dawn was nothing short of amazing. Always making sure we had everything we needed and put her " personal touch " to everything. We looked forward to bumping into her in the hallways each day. It's the little things like Dawn that made me feel at home while away. Overall 10/10 for this hotel.

The Algonquin is one of Canada's most luxurious and legendary resorts. Rich in history, meticulously restored to its original splendour, and complete with every modern comfort you could desire, this year-round destination truly offers the best of the past with contemporary amenities. The iconic building and its grounds are an oasis. Elegant guest rooms, contemporary dining, indoor and outdoor pools, waterslide, a pampering spa, private beach, manicured gardens, and cocktails on our historic veranda add up to a vacation to savour and remember.
St. Andrews by-the-Sea, New Brunswick, is home to the landmark Algonquin Resort, an elegant hotel set atop a hill overlooking the Bay of this coastal town. The Algonquin blends old world charm with modern luxury and is one of Canada's premium historic seaside resorts. Architected in a unique ' Tudor-style' and sometimes dubbed the 'Castle bay-the-Sea', this property has welcomed iconic leaders, world royalty, celebrities, high flyers and the like. The resorts heritage is portrayed in antique furniture decor and black and white historical photo's. This seaside jewel is a hop-skip-and-jump from the welcoming town of St. Andrews which offers a wealth of local opportunities with lavish gardens and a prominent retail district. Rooms are configured into 233 rooms and suites and respect the resort heritage while portraying a fresh and modern aura. My Algonquin patio room was a viewing marvel. The taupe and olive colour palette created a great backdrop for the magnificently upholstered headboard and framed artwork. Plush carpets created a cozy atmosphere and the room was outfitted with the usual high-tech appliances and a wooden work desk. A telescope graced the space appropriately for night time star gazing. The bath was special with lighted make-up mirror, granite countertops and glass walled shower. Braxton's Lounge is the signature restaurant at the Algonquin providing room service or 'sit down' extraordinary cuisine. It serves upscale meat and fish entree's like scallop risotto, Filet Mignon along with smart wine pairing and stellar views of the property's well manicured grounds. I ate anything with fish, like chowder, halibut, lobster and other seasonal sea creatures.....probably the catch of the day...perfect dishes in freshness and flavour throughout. Service was spot on. The Algonquin features an outdoor swimming pool with a whirlpool plus an indoor pool with a 3 story water slide (for kids) and 4 tennis courts dot the property. The 18-hole golf course is it's tour de force; however, as it is regularly ranked amongst the best greens in Canada while offering stellar seaside views. The Algonquin Spa is another highlighted facility offering an array of relaxing massages, facials, and therapies and also includes a fitness centre. I decided to splurge on a Fusion Stone Aroma Massage, a hot stone treatment with a flowery kick and powerful relaxation sensation. If you want to stay at a flagship property in St. Andrews, rich in history with exemplary accommodations, culinary delights and a top-notch golf course ............ ....then try the .........Algonquin Resort.........Historic, Elegant Seaside Haven.

12 CAD for parking ?? Where else can you park your car ? Bar and restaurant are very loud. There are very bad acoustics. Clean rooms but the bath/shower was outdated. Food in restaurant was pretty basic and ribs were burned. That was normal according to the waiter.

I tried booking through booking.com for $83 a night but the site froze. I went into the hotel and was struck by a pungent odor. I then told the manager of my attempt to book online he checked and found the booking didn’t go through. He then told me a price nearly twice what online was. He topped it off with a $100 security deposit. I’ve never seen a hotel charge a security deposit unless you had a pet with you. He seemed as shady as the property did so I left.
