I went to RURI KEI hot spring with my family and arrived around noon. we can enter the hot spring after you buy the ticket. You can choose the two type ticket. First, you can enjoy and relax throughout all day. Other ticket can enjoy and relax a little. This hot spring are three spots. First spot is bathing place. You can wash your body. Second spot is soak spot but you need bathing suits. If you forget bathing suits, you can rent it. Therefore you can soak hot spring with your family. Third spot is swimming spot. Children can enjoy too. Other there are relax place after you get out of the bath. There are other place. You can camp and fishing. You will think that camp in winter? however this camp can astronomical observation. The air is very clean so you can see the shining star. You can go RURI KEI hot spring without choosing the season so my recommend place.

We stayed at the beautiful and spacious Mitoya villa for two nights and three days. Absolutely enjoyed our time in the 150-year old property, with its iron hearth, beautiful sliding doors and paper frame windows. The property was very well maintained, stocked with supplies and fully functional with modern amenities. The Miyama F&B team is extremely professional (special recognition and many thanks to Michael - our friendly and informative Japanese-speaking French guide), communicative and helpful in making this holiday so much more memorable. From the highly personalised check-in and preparations, to the wonderful Bamboo crafting workshop - we had an amazing holiday experience that let us see another beautiful side of Japan.

Welcome to Kigusuriya! You can enjoy traditional Japanese rooms and meals.Guests from abroad likes our Japanese full course meal and court yard.We are the best hotel in Miyama. All room very clean and and beautiful.Sceneries from window is also beautiful. In spring, flowers full bloom. In summer, greens very fresh. In autumn, leaves change to red.In winter, white snow so wonderful!
What a perfect way to begin our Japanese holiday, at a cosy and welcoming family establishment. As soon as we arrived for our 2 night stay we were welcomed by a warm room and traditional Japanese tea. Being vegetarian, we thought it may limit our variety of food out here, but the chef kindly cooked a vast range of vegetables for us. The onsen was a nice touch to the end of a big day of walking. A day trip to Miryama and Ohno Dam with all the blossoms was truly beautiful. The driver went beyond taking us to the dam to see the cherry blossoms. Thank you for your generosity and special experience these last 2 days!!

I stayed at the Miyama Heimat Youth Hostel for 3 nights in May 2016. When I arrived, having caught the bus service that Eiji had so kindly explained for me, I was greeted with a warm smile and a welcome umbrella to shelter me from the torrential rain that evening. From this point until the moment I said goodbye to get on the train back to Kyoto, I was made to feel more welcome and at home than I have at any other hotel or hostel in my life. Despite English not being a first language for either Eiji or Michie, both made such a fantastic effort to include me in conversations, telling me about the local area, Japanese customs, the food we were eating and the animals I had seen whilst out during the day. I opted to pay for home-cooked meals for the duration of my stay, and I am so glad I did - each meal was delicious and so new to me, coming from the UK (although I wasn't quite strong enough to brave the legendary natto beans!) The local area of Miyama-cho is indescribably beautiful, from the hills adorned with woodland to the glistening river flowing alongside the road, to the utterly breathtaking views of Kayabuki-no-sato, the nearby traditional Japanese village set against a stunning backdrop of forests and mountains. From the kites circling overhead to the occasional monkey spotted scurrying through the woods, I found myself entirely immersed in what I truly felt to be the real Japan, away from the bustling cities. I was extremely pleased that the beds were very comfortable, and the showers were very warm, and everything was provided that I could have asked for to my make my stay as pleasant as possible. I was given a short lesson in Japanese calligraphy from another guest staying there, at Michie's request, and was also fortunate enough to be given a taste of genuine Japanese sake as well as a lesson in how to properly conduct a Japanese matcha, and make a classic egg roll (which I never did really learn how to get the hang of!) This was my first trip away from home by myself; having flown halfway around the world and finding myself in a country where I could barely speak two words of the language, knew next to nothing about the culture, and most importantly knew no one in the entire country, I cannot put into words how grateful I still am to Eiji and Michie for providing me with one of the single best experiences of my life. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough to anyone, whoever you are or wherever you are from. I am certainly determined to return here in the future so I can enjoy this unique and wonderful experience all over again, and I hope you will do the same as well.

I highly recommend this place if you want to experience the traditional Japanese tatami, food, and bath. The owner was very nice! My friend and I loved the dinner and breakfast, can't be any more authentic! The village itself is very beautiful and full of Sakura trees. It's very quiet at night. We enjoyed wearing the kimono.

As a former 5 star hotel manager, I know a well managed guesthouse when I see one. The guesthouse is a modernly renovated aged Japanese styled house on a hill with a fantastic view of the rice fields and train. Just off the side of the main road, far enough to not hear the traffic and close enough for an easy find. Convenience store is 2 min away by car. Kitchen is fully equipped, we cooked many meals throughout our stay and enjoyed every minute. Laundry was easy, we're glad we packed light. The place is impeccably clean and well thought out to provide the most comfortable Japanese experience. The property is a long strip minka house divided into two independent units, we enjoyed the privacy and also the friendship as the owner is a young couple with a 1 year old living next door, we went with our 4 year old and he had a blast making friends on the shared lawn and our kid really loved the herbs garden. The host speaks excellent English and is sensitive to our wishes to be left alone, at the same time is also approachable providing suggestions to local areas that are non-touristy. Our experience went well beyond my expectation of the place, especially for this price, we'll definitely be back.
