The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. They also have really good food, I can recommend the grilled tilapia which was the best I had had so far! After hiking they also took great care of us with warm drinks. The rooms are basic, but very clean.

Our Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel will impress you with an outstanding comfort and service. Choose us as your starting point to visit the gorillas or enjoy our services after tracking.
We could not speak more highly about our experience at The Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel during our recent gorilla trekking adventure. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel like family. The property is remarkably clean and well managed. Our room was both cozy and luxurious, even the smallest of details and accommodations were well thought out. The dining was a well needed treat for my husband and I. Our family is living in TZ currently and we have been craving quality beef. The hamburger and steak would compete with any great US restaurant. They did a great job accommodating my picky eating preferences too. Portion sizes, presentation and taste were excellent. The bread pudding was our favorite dessert & Richard certainly knew how to make amazing cocktail recommendations, a well trained bartender and chef. They even made us a special ginger tea when our allergies triggered after transitioning from a warm tropical climate to the mountains for the weekend. We highly recommend staying here!

My sister and I had a memorable stay at Da Vinci Lodge. We arrived early in the morning for a quick nap before our gorilla trek. After the gorilla trek, we were pleasantly surprised by a foot massage by Eli and Mogesha. Our room was heated by an in room fire place and our beds had heat packs which made us sleep well. The next day, we went to see golden monkeys and our room was decorated with flowers upon our return as we packed our bags. Our delicious meals had large portions. Thanks to Tony, Eli, Mogesha and the rest of the staff for a great experience at Da Vinci.

We had such a great time visiting this wonderful place - Beds are super comfortable and with hot waterbottles at your feet (provided for free) and the nice blankets we were toasty even when it dipped to single digits - local dancers stopped by to perform for tips and it was a great opportunity to help some talented kids get some cash towards paying their school fees - recommended without reservations!

Luxury lodge, located in close proximity to Volcanoes National Park. Without sacrificing comfort, the hotel includes a masseuse, full bar, swimming pool, bike tours and unparalleled service, among other things. An excellent choice for those looking for comfort on their trips to see Gorillas or any other wildlife in Musanze. Luxurious enough to be exclusive, Friendly enough to be inclusive
We arrived at the lodge early on a cold and wet morning in May, after hiking to see the golden monkeys. Our muddy hiking boots were immediately whipped away by the attentive staff and cleaned up. After a week in Rwanda, we were delighted to at last get some great customer service. This is the strength of Tiloreza. Our (deluxe) room was spacious, but if you are visiting during the rainy season, bring your warm pyjamas and clothes - the lodge is at 2000 m above sea level after all!

We stayed in Francis' and his family's home stay for a week in Musanze and would highly recommend that you stay here. Firstly, Musanze is quite expensive accommodation wise, but Virunga Homestay offers beautiful clean and comfortable place to stay at great value for money. The homestay itself offers comfortable rooms, and fantastic shared spaces; including a large living room and dining area and nice balcony with views of Musanze's impressive volcanoes. As hosts Francis and his family are exceptional. During our stay Francis would continually help us with what we want us to do and would always be ready to offer support or advice; whether it was delicious and varied home cooked meals, laundry, or access to local swimming pools or hiking, Francis was always ready with immediate support. Throughout all this our privacy was well respected and we felt the full benefit of living in a homestay while being able to have time to ourselves whenever we wanted it. We were working remotely during our stay and had a great experience, having had difficulties elsewhere working in homestays in other places.

Staff was extremely hospitable and welcoming. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean with individual mosquito nets over beds. Bread, fruit and omelett were freshly prepared for us for breakfast at an agreed time. No issues for an earlier breakfast when we started our day with an early hiking activity. Plus when we came back with our muddy shoes staff was accommodating and helped us cleaning and drying in the backyard. Shared bathroom is as clean as it can be when you use it with several people. Since there is no shower curtain the entire floor gets wet easily and nothing to dry it off - which is the only minus point I can list. The place is located in short walking distance to town in a quiet street. Internet didn't work at all times though this wasn't an issue for us. Definitely recommended!!

One of the most wonderful places with the most wonderful people in Rwanda. Moses was particularly welcoming, as was the lady who owns the resort, going above and beyond what was required of them as hosts. It left me and my friend with a very warm feeling, and a sense of just how friendly everyone in Rwanda is :)
