La Playa Carmel is a 75-room historic luxury boutique hotel, newly restored to preserve its turn-of-the-century charm while updating it to modern-day standards. Located two blocks from the beach and village shops, art galleries and restaurants, the hotel is situated in the heart of Carmel and anchors its most prestigious residential neighborhood. The grounds encompass meticulously tended gardens, intimate patios, secluded courtyards and a tranquil terrace swimming pool.
LaPlaya is a beautiful property near the Carmel Bay. The gardens are lovely and the hotel is very well maintained. It's a special place in easy walking distance to shops and restaurants in Carmel. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. It was my second visit and I hope to return someday.

Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is located in California overlooking Monterey Bay and highest rated in Cannery Row.
Stunning views from so many spots at this hotel, including our partial ocean-view room, from which we saw otters frolicking in the kelp beds (bring binoculars!) and humpback whales breaching and spouting in the bay. We were pleasantly surprised by the free bikes available. I'd expected either a fleet of beat-up cast-offs (which I've experienced at other hotels) or a one-hour time limit. Instead, they sent us across the street to pick up great-condition cruiser bikes with locks and handlebar bags, and we just had to get the bikes back by close of business (8pm). We rode north to Lovers Point and then south to the Dennis the Menace playground. Good meals Schooner's for dinner and breakfast, and a super easy walk to the aquarium.

My pups and I enjoyed our stay in a quaint little cottage near the Carmel River. The location was peaceful and serene. The rooms were fresh and clean. The bed was so comfy! It felt as if I stepped back into the 1950's, but all the amenities were modern. I loved listening to the frogs at night.

This 1939 historic landmark is located one half block from the Pacific and right next to Pacific Grove Golf course. Enjoy redesigned rooms with wood floors, plush beds and linens, and large flat screen televisions. Free wireless Internet access and continental breakfast is included.
It's a lovely place and well appointed but upon arrival I was told there was an additional fee (resort fee? although there was no resort amenities...) There were empty cottages but I was given a room underneath an upstairs unit and it was noisy. The place is in a good location, just check the rates and the room first!

Craftsman-style inspired guestrooms in warm, inviting earth tones reflect Monterey’s relaxed and friendly style. Italian linens, luxurious bathrooms, mini refridgerator, complimentary Wi-Fi and a wealth of other thoughtful amenities creates guest rooms that exceed expectations. Additional features include a walnut desk and ergonomic chair, a plush chaise lounge and 32 inch flat screen TV. Most rooms include fireplaces. Bistro Abrego serves an eye opening breakfast menu and a locally inspired dinner menu, and there is a spacious heated swimming pool and hot tub to relax in. Complimentary parking.
Hotel was overall good, you get a good accomodation for what you pay. Room was clean and bed was perfect for a one night stay. Location is perfect to walk arround the old wharf but for Cannery Row you will need a car o taxi. What i didn't like is that there was no breakfast option and that nobody helps you with luggage. I think is something hotels have been implementing since Covid to save some money. Overall a Good Hotel for a short stay.

We had a lovely room that was quiet, very clean and comfortable. Facilities were good, room was lovely and clean as was the bathroom. Location was good for a 5 minute walk into town. Plenty of recommendations given for places to eat. Staff were extremely friendly. Thank you all.

Very helpful & friendly staff. Rooms were very clean, good size with nice showers. Our room was a little dark in the day & then the bright outside light made it too bright at night! But overall really nice base, we stayed 2 nights & packed a lot in. Used the laundry here too, which was v helpful halfway through our trip.

This room was not up to the brand name of this hotel. Mold on the shower curtain, run down, loud rooms that could use a little TLC. Windows we’re filthy with water spots, and everything looks like it receives just a quick wipe down during cleaning. I’ve been in hotels that charge way less that are cleaner.

For unwinding and fine dining, relaxing and rejuvenating, sandcastles and sunset cocktails, your favorite California escape awaits at this beachy chic boutique hotel. The only Monterey hotel with a privately-owned beachfront, our glass-enclosed lobby instantly treats guests to intoxicating bay and ocean views.
Concept of this hotel is spot on however executed poorly. The views in the lobby are beautiful and would entice you to think the rooms would be too. Wrong. It feels like they have banked on the view of the lobby being the selling point and forgot that guests actually have to stay in the shabby rooms they provide. Carpet is ripped, privacy is poor as the blinds do not even work therefore letting light in at night and in morning. This hotel could be so much better if they thought about the guests first and the view second perhaps. We would not stay here again nor recommend.
