We are a little family run hostel located in the green part of Misahualli, in a walking distance (800m) from the center. The name come from banana plants growing in the garden of the Banana Lodge. Located in the magic village of Misahualli, the Cabanas Rio Napo leads you to a charming place and ideal for rest and the discovery of the rich fauna and flora of the Amazonian region. Its privileged spot offers a panoramic sight on the port, the malecon, the village and the beach. Cabanas Rio Napo offers also tours like walks, as well on the river as in the jungle. Thanks to the Cabanas' native guide and manager Leo you will experience amazing adventures! We offer a different experience ... The jungle as you can never appreciate it, come and enjoy your stay in our comfortable Lodeg, and live a true wilderness experience, visit Indigenous communities, eat delious local and international food, and observe wild animals like caimans, birds and monkeys in their natural surroundings.
We visited the lodge with our 2 teens. The location is very good, walking distance from Misahualli town but across the river, so it´s rather secluded. The attention is superb. The staff at the lodge did evertything to make us feel at home. Breakfast is very good, with plenty of fruit, eggs, good bread and drinks to get you ready for a tour in the jungle. The staff helped us to organize an all day tour to the jungle for birds, frogs and monkey watching. We also visited an animal recovery center, caiman´s lagoon, fun "cerbatana" shooting practice, and ended with a relaxed tubing adventure in the river. The guide, Erick, was fanstastic! Rooms are OK, baths could be improved. Overall infrastructre is very nice, with a nice pool. The manager tolds us they will upgrade installations early next year.

The hotel is situated close to the points of interest in town, the owner is very friendly and helpful. There is a view of river over a road and some smaller buildings on the other side of street. The room I got had no windows, but there is a private bathroom (with shower that fluctuated between scalding and cold). Unfortunately around 23 a group of young guests arrived and did not settle down until 1am: as in had some food and smoked, and had spirited conversations on the terrace, all activities that are not supposed to take place there. Obviously sleep was not happening, but I did have an opportunity to listen to a father in the adjacent room on the other side read a story to his little girl, to try to put her back to sleep - the walls are so thin I could appreciate every word, so if the other guests don't behave, there you are. No intervention from hotel staff on all this. Hopefully not a typical night...

We loved our stay. The lodge is very much located in the jungle. Slight walk along the river from the parking lot to the lodge, however, the staff transports your luggage. All areas of the lodge were very clean and well kept. The staff was eager to help however they could. They do allow dogs, which was kind of annoying at times when they were left to bark unattended in their rooms. The food and drink were all very fresh and delicious. There is a toucan named Plumas (feathers) who was hand raised by locals and is a regular visitor at the lodge. He is very fun to watch and interact with. Javier was our guide during our daily outings while staying at the lodge and we can not say enough good things about him. We had so much fun talking and getting to know each other and he was a wealth of knowledge about his home country. Highly recommend this place and would love to return.

Food was good and the small staff friendly. Took us in a motor canoe tour to a jungle trail for a nature hike. Rooms are rustic but comfortable and clean. There is a small swimming pool too.

Eunice and Hernán, who run Hostal El Paisano, made our two week stay in Ecuador an absolute joy and filled with the most delightful memories that we will treasure forever. They and their staff do an outstanding job running everything from check in, breakfast (which is impressive), to cleaning rooms and common areas, to services and suggestions for the area. They are fluent in several languages which is quite helpful and even have books for your reading enjoyment in several languages. They also serve lunch or dinner upon your request (which is 5 star) and rent out rubber boots for hiking in the rainforest. And in case you want to send pictures back home, they have wifi! El Paisano is located right off the community square, so it is a two minute walk to anything you need. Come enjoy the incredible beauty of the Amazon rainforest, the playful monkeys, take a dip in the Misahualli river, enjoy the local Ecuadorian cuisine and the Quichua people, take a canoe ride down the river, shop in the quaint community square, bird and butterfly watch, stand in awe of God's creation as you hike to the Garden of Eden (also known locally as Cascadas de Latas)... but more than anything else come enjoy El Paisano and our new friends Eunice and Hernán! You won't regret it.

The Misahualli Jungle Lodge can accommodate up to 100 guests who stay in cabins, double suited, triplets, or quadruples. The cozy cabanas at Misahualli Jungle Lodge are made of natural materials of the region, while the comfortable double suites are modernly constructed. Both, the cabanas and the double suites are equipped with a private bathroom (with hot water showers), ceiling fans, and electricity available 24-hours. Air Conditioning is available in select Superior Queen Bungalows only.
Do not hire those services. They charged $ 80 to four people when another large family of five were charged $ 35 for the same. It is a pity that we have to take very bad memories of such a "beautiful" place. The hired tour is very poor. Feeling of total deception.

Located on the banks of the Napo River with two kilometer of river frontage, the TRES RIOS JUNGLE LODGE is situated at the intersection of the Napo and the Pusuno Rivers. The lodge spreads across more than 100 hectares of secondary rain forest There are a few patches of primary forest remaning. This historic property has a colorful past. There was once an army post located near the point of the Napo and Pusuno Rivers. The Pusuno House was the home of the past owner. An important natural area of the property is the pantano or swamp. This wetland area is home to many forest creatures. Birds, snakes, insects, and numerous native plants can be found there. Also across the property are giant trees that are massive in size and age. The largest tree is a black ceibo that is wider than four people touching finger tip to finger tip. The tree reaches to the sky and is anchored by massive roots that spread across the forest floor. There are also many medicine plants within the forest. The locals know the names and uses for many herbal medical plants. The Tuyano River is located a distance from the lodge. This river is protected within the boundaries of the lodge. The Tuyano remains a natural and free flowing stream. Welcome to the rainforest of Ecuador. Welcome to our little piece of one of earth's special places. Welcome to the TRES RIOS Jungle Lodge
