Arenas de Son Bou Hotel is located directly on the magnificent beach of Son Bou, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, where the white color of its sand meets the clean and crystalline sea of its waters. Built in 1999 and completely renovated in 2018, the hotel has an informal atmosphere with 94 rooms decorated in a modern style, of which 60 are double rooms and 34 are family rooms, consisting of two rooms, one of them as a double bed and the other with two sofas. which allow a family stay with privacy. It has a buffet restaurant with Mediterranean and international cuisine, with show cooking of pasta, meat, fish and vegetables. Two bars, one internal and one next to the pool that allow an uninterrupted service of drinks and snacks from 10 am to 11 pm. Its two swimming pools, the one for adults measuring 33 x15 m. and the one for children, with a diameter of 5m and a depth of only 40 cm. They are equipped with hammocks and parasols, allowing the enjoyment of all members of the family. It has a small sports field, what allows the game of volley-ball, petanque and other outdoor sports.

Hotel manager always present. very good cleaning of the rooms. the hotel is located near the sea but it is not provided for access to the beach. Thanks to Andrea, the Italian waiter for his kindness.

Do not expect the spacious rooms of an American hotel chain, but appreciate how efficient and intentional every offering is here. The location is a reasonable walking distance to the main shops. The snack/grab and go system is awesome and always hit the spot when needed. The breakfast buffet is an excellent value with many healthy options. But most importantly, the staff at every level and encounter is friendly, attentive, and helpful. They really deserve so much praise for their hard work. I had an amazing experience here and will move on to other parts of the island, but am glad I booked a return stay on a whim next week before departing from Spain! PS- the key cards actually work here.

Very Quiet relaxing holiday
Reviewed By Sherpa55701909883Staff nice, hotel room good, all inclusive food was good with plenty of choice. Very clean place. Very scenic. Beautiful sandy bay beach. Easy access to buses. However be aware this area is very quiet with only a few bars and restaurants. Very hilly, with lots of steps to the beach. If you are a smoker there are very limited places to buy cigarettes - two vending machines in two bars which only open late in the day and machines may be empty. Can’t smoke in the externally bar areas apart from specified zones. Cigarettes Cheap if bought at tobacco shops in main towns. Two bottles water in rooms, keep your bottles and refill at the bar. Tea and coffee not refilled in rooms. Hilly with lots of inclines and steps to be aware of if you struggle with that. Be aware you will be charged tourist taxes in Spain and on arrival we were charged 47 euros for a couple - ask TUI to be clear as they are generally not. A few general small supermarkets and two small souvenir shops in the area. Get the bus to to town. Taxis can be very expensive and a long wait if booked by hotel. Bring your own insect repellent as you may get bitten a lot. If you like to drink known brands you can upgrade to yellow bands for 14 euros each per day, but must all upgrade (2 people, 2 upgrades 28 euros per day). Very quiet in the hotel at the evening, entertainment provided for kids and adults. All in all a nice very very quiet, and relaxing holiday with lots of friendly and talkative people around the hotel and pool

Reviewed By sskell434911Beautiful studio, immaculate in every respect, perfect location. Would stay again and quite happily recommend. Location is ideal for beach and the local bars and resturants. We only stayed a couple of nights here but would perhaps stay longer in the future.

Pros - The views from the hotel over the beach are stunning - The breakfast was fantastic with the same views and lots of choice for all - Very easy access to beach from the hotel (3 mins) not easy at all if you have mobility issues - Very clean and there were lots of cleaners - Centre of Menorca is a must see, it’s so pretty and lots of lovely shops and restaurants (€30 in a taxi from hotel) - Beautiful beach, lovely and clean and clear see - watch out for the colour of the flag. Jelly fish in the sea lots of reports of stings Cons - Very small bedrooms and equally small balcony with terrifying views down - very little hanging space for clothes so we didn’t bother - Not child friendly - kids club off site from the hotel - Very, very limited vegetarian selection for evening meal, same meals provided all week (veg or lentil stew) - really poor. It wasn’t a cheap holiday expected way more effort - coffee and milk not replenished in room, constantly asking for more coffee and milk - expensive cocktails €12 each approx Definitely not a 5* star hotel but you’d still have a lovely time because of the location

Reviewed By Archie CI can only totally concur with the previous reviews, fabulous hotel, excellent position, great views (see below), first class staff and great food with plenty of choice, including Bucks Fizz for breakfast. The bath is very slippy but we asked for a mat and got one withing minutes. Similarly, the kettle did not work and was handed a brand new one in minutes, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Excellent bus service nearby for a trip to Cala n Bosch Marina. We never had a problem getting a sunbed but this did not stop some people (British) putting their towels out in the second week. A couple of niggles, though. We arrived on 7 May for 2 weeks and was given a cr*ppy room at the back, overlooking the road. I did request a move to a more scenic room but was asked for 30 Euros A DAY for this. The room never got any sunshine and for the first week was very cold indeed. We had to ask for extra blankets it was so cold and spent a lot of time in the room under the sheets to keep warm. We spoke to other Jet2 customers who were there for only a week and they had views over the estuary, why was ours so bad. I would have thought a 2 weeker would be given rooms at the front. The shower was abysmal. There is only 1 lever adjusting temperature and flow. You could either have a cold shower with plenty of gusto or a warm (not hot) shower that was just a dribble. There is a dress code in the restaurant asking men to wear long trousers. I have absolutely no problem with this, in fact it makes the restaurant a dining experience. If this is the case, why were men allowed into the restaurant in cycling gear (shorts) and beach wear trunks ???? Makes a total mockery of the rule. As I say, these were niggles and did not drastically affect the holiday which we enjoyed immensely.

Reviewed By I2884SGlisawThis adults only hotel is located in a quieter corner of Calan Porter overlooking the bay. Friendly staff. Lovely clean and modern rooms. Great shower and some rooms have very good views of the bay. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices including eggs and bacon as well as fresh fruit, pastries and cereals. Breakfast on the terrace is a must. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Nice pool and sun beds. Short walk down the steps to the bay but coming back up them is hard! We will definitely come back here again although in the height of summer you can expect this medium size hotel to be much busier. It could easily be a four star with just very few changes.

We were meant to be staying at the smaller (petite) hotel across the road but this was a excellent alternative. from entering the reception to the room it's 10 out of 10. Staff were lovely, honestly they're so friendly and smiling all the time. Food was hot, good variety & nothing to much trouble for the chefs. The only down side for us personally was the location, very quiet which sometimes is a bonus , such a pity I'd love to go back to the adult only hotel.
