A private safari lodge within the pristine Manyeleti reserve adjoining the Fenceless boundary of the Kruger National Park. Private plunge pools, big 5 game, amazing cuisine. Manor house can take children with a fantastic children's program.
Our stay at Tintswalo Safari Lodge exceeded our expectations! The lodge staff pampered us throughout our entire stay, even when they surprised us with breakfast in the bush & the special sundowner on our last night. The game drives were educational and exciting… the animals were spectacular! We will never forget watching the pride of lions and cubs snoozing in the grass, the cheetahs crossing the road in front of us, the leopard perched on the termite mound or the shimmer of the zebras in the sunlight. Exceptional staff & an Exceptional experience! We are already planning a return trip next year!

Albatros Travel owns 3 uniquely positioned luxury tented safari camps managed under the brand name Honeyguide Tented Safari Camps. Khoka Moya and Mantobeni is located in the pristine unfenced Manyeleti Private Game Reserve, Mpumalanga, which borders the famous Kruger National Park. Ranger camp is located in the astounding Entabeni safari conservancy and forms part of the world Heritage Waterberg Biosphere of the Waterberg region, Limpopo. All three camps are designed and run to allow the most luxury experience with the least impact on the environment and surroundings.
My husband and I stayed at the Mantobeni camp as part of our honeymoon trip. This was our first time in South Africa and our first safari, and it more than exceeded our expectations. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and the food was incredible! We loved the group dining experience as it allowed us to meet others from all over the world and fully enjoyed our glamping experience in the luxury tents. Michael was our safari guide and he truly made the trip. He was so knowledgeable about the area and the animals, and went out of his way to make sure we saw everything. He even drove us from one end of the reserve to the other once he heard a cheetah had made a kill so that we could get in on the action! We couldn't have asked for a better first safari experience and we hope to be back at Mantobeni one day!

When I first made an enquiry to to book at this lodge, the owner appeared to be so warm and helpful. They explained the services, gave you detailed directions, asked what time you will arrive and your interest in wildlife, etc. But when we arrived at this lodge, this place looked and felt deserted. There was no one there! Another gentleman arrived at the same time as we did and we all thought we were at the wrong place. All of us left and went wondered around the reserve for another 30 minutes. It was only after we came back to the place out of desperation and shouted more than 10 times, a kitchen staff came out...That's when you can tell there is no management in this place whatsoever. The pathway to the tent is falling apart so it's dangerous to walk as you can step on a loosen plank anytime. The tent is basic. I want to use the mosquito net as it is a malaria area but it is so dirty I finally gave up. The lack of management went on...The ranger has great knowledge in wildlife but he was seldom there on time. Half of the time he was late for 15 minutes and one time he even showed up late, not in uniform and asked for another 10 minutes to change. When we went to have coffee/biscuits the next day morning before game drive, there are still left-over food and used napkins on the table, which was really gross. I made a complaint to the owner and they came to the camp. They brought two bottles of wine to celebrate our anniversary, trying to make it up. But I also realized although they lived in a nearby camp, they spent very very little time on this lodge, and that explains why the place is so run-down and lacks of management. I sensed the owner was afraid that I would leave a negative review so they brought the wine and constantly reminded me that I saw a leopard on my first game drive. But I don't think a sighting of a leopard can justify the poor facilities and services this lodge offers. The worst part is that, after our stay, the owner contacted me and voluntarily offered to refund us the cost of one-night accommodation. Guess what? After I gave them my banking details, they disappeared. They did not answer any of my emails and it has been a month. Of course I never received the refund they'd promised. It is life and everyone knows sometimes you make a mistake of choosing a wrong hotel to stay--over-priced, dirty and poor services, which ruined a special occasion you wanted to celebrate. You paid to learn the lesson. I didn't expect a refund but when they promised a refund and simply ghosted afterwards, that really showed me what kind of people they are.

We stayed at Buffelshoek Camp for 2 nights in June 2022 and absolutely loved it. For our family with 2 boys it was the perfect place to observe the beautiful nature of South Africa. Not only have we seen the big 5 during our game drives but also many different animals in and around the camp. Since the camp has no fence around it the animals can walk into the camp as they wish. Even though wild animals were around us all the time we never felt unsafe or at risk. The team at Buffelshoek took great care of us and walked us to our cabins when needed to ensure protection from the wildlife, especially for the kids. Besides being a great place for wildlife observation Buffelshoek also offered fantastic food and great hospitality. If I ever return to Africa I will for sure visit again!

Verbleven hier twee nachten tijdens ons reis doorheen Zuid-Afrika.

Pungwe is a small intimate authentic safari camp which brings back the essence of a true safari experience. Our comfortable en-suite meru-style tents are reminiscent of days when safaris were all about the sights, sounds and smells of the bush. Our camp is about the bush, the animals, the unique experiences and the subsequent regaling of these by the iconic fireside. Pungwe Safari Camp is situated in the southern part of the 22 000 hectare Big 5 Manyeleti Reserve. Pungwe shares unfenced boundaries with two world renowned reserves, the Sabi Sand Reserve to the south and the Kruger National Park to the east, allowing for free movement of wildlife between the three reserves. This ensures that Pungwe's guests will be privy to some spectacular game viewing without having to share the sightings with numerous other visitors. Our guided morning walking safaris put you in touch with the bush, immerses you in your surroundings and enable you to encounter wildlife at a unique level. Our afternoon/evening game drives ensure that your sightings are up-close and personal. The perfect combination to create lasting memories. The 4 en-suite meru-styled tents at Pungwe offer simple elegant comfort, security, hot and cold running water for baths or showers and an exceptional feeling of truly being in the African bush. Only under canvas will you not only hear, but feel the roar of the lion, the throaty cough of a leopard and the Fiery Necked Nightjar celebrating the night.
11/10!! This is such a magical camp. It's small, no fences, back to basics (but with everything you need). It's also is in one of the most under rated reserves....Manyeleti. The staff are fantastic, we had the best drives with Never and Wonder! We loved the lounge chats with Tracie and Wez. We've booked again and we'll keep booking while this camp retains it's magic. Great food, amazing people (and owners!). Even though we visit other lodges, we always come back to Pungwe!

Making a decision amongst so many Safari options is hard! I know, despite living in Australia, covid aside I have gone to the bushveld as South Africans call it, every year of my 52 years of life! I have been on every kind of Safari imaginable. Walking safari’s, Safari in the Okavango by boat, luxury Safari and many self drive safaris. So I speak from experience and Tintswalo Manour House ticks ALL the boxes! This was our second visit. We went as a family group ten years ago and returned this year again to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. The beautiful house sleeps 10. You are provided with a ranger and a tracker. All the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it despite having various dietary preferences (non negotiable these days in a group of 9 people!). We stayed 3 nights and I strongly suggest you stay no fewer. There are some wonderful meal surprises which would be difficult to fit into the schedule on a shorter stay. The main reason to go on Safari is of course to spend time in the bush with the wildlife. Once again you can’t go wrong. Every day elephants would wonder down to the water hole, right in front of the house!! There is an abundance of game, big 5 included. I had the most wonderful sighting of a lion cub in a tree! You don’t even have to leave the house to enjoy incredible birds and the sounds of jackals and hyena at night. Thank you Foster, Israel and all your helpers for 3 nights in total heaven! We loved every second of our stay!!!

Wow what an awesome experience from start to finish. On arrival we were greeted by Leon and the team and felt welcome from the very start. Accommodation was lovely and comfortable. Meals were very tasty and enjoyable. Game drives were incredible and saw the big 5 and lots more. I have stayed in many private reserves but this one is by far my favourite and will definitely return. Thank you Leon for going above and beyond to make such incredible memories which will be treasured. Robbie & Shireen

DO NOT BOOK THERE....Service was disgusting. We booked 2 chalets the last week from 24 - 26 September 2021. On arrival we we're told that we could only bath once at 7pm and can't bath in the morning cos there won't be hot water. 7pm the water was cold. Sunday morning on checking out, the owner accused us of stealing 2 unfodable chairs. At first we thought he was joking and asked if he saw the car we were driving as we were driving an I10 and if the his chairs could fit in our car. He said he doesn't care there were chairs outside that we stole. We asked he check with the cleaners, he did and they confirmed that the chairs are there. He did not apologize and when we confronted him he insulted us and told us to f@%k off.
