With its monumental Palazzo Ducale rising above a moat of artificial lakes, Mantua’s seems plucked from the pages of a fairy tale. In the walkable, UNESCO-listed old town, pint-sized bars and boutiques spill onto piazzas little changed since medieval times.

The B&B Hotel Mantova is a modern block building, located in the outkirts of the city, about 2Km far from the city centre and just off the highway. The quite location is ideal for both business and leisure travelers seeking comfort and a friendly and elegant atmosphere. The hotel offers 66 comfortable rooms with a wide range of in-room facilities. Moreover, privat parking for car and buses is available for guests. All the rooms are furnished in a modern style with a contemporary design
The hotel was five minutes from the main road between Verona and Modena and reasonably close to the centre of Mantova. It is located in a quiet suburb on the edge of a bit of an industrial district. The rooms are modern, immaculate and functional, the staff friendly, the breakfast fairly typical and all for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel.

Very nice rooms, very pleasant staff, nice breakfast and very nice restaurant in a location close to the exit of the motorway. Ample parking places outside, also inside parking available at an extra cost of Euro 15 per day. What else do you need as a business traveler?

Hotel was ok but not sure it honestly deserves to be #1 in Mantova as rated by TripAdvisor. Either the competitor hotels are quite poor or , sad to say, perhaps casa poli stuffs the TripAdvisor good reviews. My experience with a 3 night stay was ok but not great. For a 4 star hotel, much was lacking. Rooms had no bathrobes, no slippers, no hot water kettle, no washcloths, plastic glasses instead of glass (good quality plastic but still plastic), shampoo and bath gel but no conditioner or lotion provided. All things I would expect in a 4 star boutique hotel for $150 a night in a second tier town. (Not to disparage mantova which is a lovely town but doesn’t warrant the hotel rates of Milan or Rome). I thought there were no blackout shades and suffered with sunlight for the first 3 mornings but when straightening the room for checkout I realized there was a tab on the window to pull down a shade. One nice feature is that on checkin someone accompanies you to the room to show you how to use the key. Would be helpful if he also pointed out the blackout curtain and how to use the heat. I could never figure that out either, suffering with either too much cold or heat. I was happy to see a safety box in the room, as virtually all 4 star hotel rooms provide, however the small size of this box was a joke. Couldn’t fit in an iPad let alone a laptop. Barely fit my wallet and jewelry. Why bother, really. Rooms noisy, voices carried from hall. Mini refrigerator provided with their products to sell and an irritating large sign advising guests NOT to put their personal food or drinks in the refrigerator, ,,, really??? Do they think that creates good will? On the plus side: lighting very good, rooms clean and a plug on each side of the bed. Strong wifi. Lastly, some of the staff needs tutoring in how to speak to guests. At breakfast a blond staff member screamed at me in Italian for I don’t know that. When I asked if she spoke English she walked away in a huff. I suggested to another female front desk staff member to post for other guests a great nearly Pizza snack place that other guests might like she told me that Italian guests aren’t interested in snacks, they want full meals. When I suggested it to another front desk staff member she told me she’s not allowed to play favoritism to one restaurant over another. When I pointed out that they hand out a recommendation sheet of area restaurants, she just stared at me. Ok! By the way, the pizza place is called papillon. It is 5 minute walk up via Trieste. Open evenings from 5:30, no lunch. Takeout or eat in. Just ask if u want it heated up. Very high quality, run by a lovely couple. Lots of choices including vegetarian. Stunning and delicious “pizza”. I highly recommend papillon, but unfortunately not Casa Poli at this time. Sorry, I wanted to love it.

Lovely countryside hotel, in a beautiful and very private location, surrounded by woodland. The owner is very pleasant and helpful and extends a warm welcome. She prepared a lovely breakfast with eggs and ham every morning. We stayed during the European heatwave of August 2018, and unfortunately the air conditioning in the room did not work. We left it on all night, the owner tried to fix it, but still a red light flashed on the unit. She said she would ask her husband to look at it, but alas to no avail. We struggled to sleep, it was so uncomfortable. Obviously, the owner could not predict the weather, but it rather spoilt our stay.

Placed in the heart of the city, with a breathtaking view of Piazza Sordello and its principal monuments as Palazzo Ducale, Palazzo Vescovile, Palazzo Castiglioni and Cà Uberti, the Hotel dei Gonzaga was renowed in 2015. Refined-taste rooms and simple but valued furniture guarantee the Guests a pleasant, calm stay, in a privileged position. Friendly Staff, quiet location, plenty breakfast complete the experience of a preferred visit in Mantova. Walking by the historical centre and crossing the main streets you can easily reach the summer realm of Palazzo Te.
The staff was very kind and helpful; the location is perfect! The food at the restaurant was mushy white gooey and tasteless. Hubby’s dish was just as awful. Very expensive. Breakfast was extra so we skipped that too. Our room was tiny; but faced the pizza Sordello and lovely view.

Hotel Leon D'oro is located in the heart of the historic center of Mantua in a finely restored building. It is the ideal place to welcome families, to spend romantic weekends but also for business meetings.
This is a budget option when in Mantua. A little hard to find. Parking closeby is difficult as most spots are taken by locals. I would suggest to park on the outside lot and walk there. The rooms are a bit sparse but comfortable. Just make sure you correspond with the front desk about your arrival as there is no permanent staffing.

New B & B just minutes from the center of Mantua, also accessible by bike. All rooms are bright and soundproofed rooms (double and single) with private bathroom, LCD TV and a balcony. Large bathrooms with heated floor and window. Free Parking. Free WiFi internet at high speed. Fresh garden for the summer breakfast. Viable alternative to traditional hotel, for tourism and business. Convenient to the motorway and ring road, however quiet and peaceful place. Ideal for the fair of Verona, just 20 minutes away and to visit other nearby cities of Cremona and Modena.
We're really happy to have chosen for this stay in Mantova/Mantua. We slept like a rose in the comfortable beds, a lot of choices for breakfast, certainly in Italy, easy to check in (with a code if there is no one present) and most of all a very friendly innkeeper, Stefano! From the 6 Porte Guesthouse you can easily drive a few minutes to the Campo Canoa Parking (where a free shuttle brings you to the city during the working hours) and visit Mantova/Mantua. Don't forget that the historical centre has limited access zones for cars. Really recommend this guesthouse, and Mantova is really worth a visit because of its unique historical look and feel.

Located in front of one of the historical and most famous Palaces of the city (Palazzo della Ragione), Ca’ delle Erbe is named after the square where, in ancient times, there was the Mercato delle Erbe (the fruit and vegetables market). This Residence, recently born in one of the historical mantuan Palace, built at the end of the XVI century, has the honour and the prestige to be situated next to Basilica Sant’Andrea.
The location overlooking Piazza delle Erbe is very central, but also noisy in the evening. We booked the rooftop suite with the little terrace from wher you could see the city from above and this was very nice. Ther is also a small elevator if you don't want to climb the stairs with your suitcase. However, to access the room, you have to walk about half a mile from the parking, which is NOT very nice when it's raining of if you have a lot of luggage to carry. It is not recommended for elderly or disabled persons. The most disappointing was the "breakfast": a voucher to get industrial pastries and a terrible coffee / juice in a shabby little bar about 10 min walk from the room. If it's not to save a few euros in the wrong way, we don't understand why the owners have made this choice, knowing they have a restaurant in front of the residence AND a nice pastry shop at the ground floor of the residence, making wonderful food and their own chocolate? So the customer experience in the morning is to pass in front of a fantastic place with this fresh chocolate smell...to go to another cheap place ? Not in line with the price asked for the room!

The Gallery Museum Palazzo Valenti Gonzaga in Mantua The Gallery Museum Valenti Gonzaga is located in the most representative part of the piano nobile. The property consist of more than 500 square meters; they are structured as an open-space composed by the entrance hall or "Gallery" , the "Camerone del Figliuol Prodigo", the "Chapel", the “Stanza del trionfo del Tempo sulla Fama" and the "Stanza degli Stemmi."
There's a lot to like about this guest house (it can't be called a hotel), particularly its location. It's very close to the historic centre of Mantua, which is completely glorious, and to all the main sights. It's also undeniably very interesting to spend a night or two in a historic building of this kind. We had the enormous, vaulted cellar apartment, and it's an unusual and evocative space. Having said all that, however, I'm not sure we would rush back here. Reviews from 2018 talk with enthusiasm of the breakfast provided in the apartments, but the management has clearly decided to suspend that service, so that you have to go out and forage for breakfast in local cafes. That's fine if you're happy with the classic Italian breakfast of coffee and brioche, but not so great if you aren't. Also, although the apartments are advertised as having kitchens, that's a little misleading. (I had envisaged it as a kind of aparthotel from the description.) Our apartment had a very underpowered fridge, a kettle, and an espresso maker (with a rather ungenerous two pods). There's a hob and various empty cupboards, but there are no plates or cutlery. There's a sign saying that, if you want to use the kitchen, you should contact the management, but that seems rather a hassle if you are only there for a couple of nights. There wasn't too much sign of the free local parking listed on the site I booked from, either. The choice seemed to be either highly competitive metered street parking or a multi-storey a few blocks away. I wasn't sure that the romance of living in a historic building--or even the great location--fully compensated for all these inconveniences. The apartments are vast in terms of square metres, but the space isn't especially well thought out--there's a lovely and distinctive room, for example, the old ice room, but it's not furnished in such a way that you can actually use it. The apartment might work well for a family (there are two single bedrooms, as well as the double one), and that would presumably make it good value, but I'm not sure it really works for a couple. It isn't furnished in a way that enhances the space, either--it's all a bit 'hand me down,' as if an elderly relative had lent you their flat.
