Nestled in the heart of the Green Mountains, this former iron-mining town today is the quintessential Vermont getaway, complete with a white steeple church, antique shops and cozy country inns. Manchester is a true all-season destination. In winter, skiers arrive to hit the downhill slopes at nearby Bromley and Stratton Mountains or the cross-country trails at Hildene. Spring and summer bring hikers who can opt for easy treks through Merrick Forest or more challenging ones like Prospect Rock, a three-mile hike, mostly uphill, that offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains as reward to those who make it. Manchester fly-fishing is also a popular pastime, drawing enthusiasts from around the country who come to learn or hone their skills. Big name outlet stores in Manchester Center draw shoppers year-round. In the fall, it's all about foliage. Enjoy the vibrant colors from a canoe on the mighty Battenkill River, a bicycle along a scenic path or kick back and take it all in from a comfy rocking chair on the porch of a historic inn. No matter what your vantage point, the show is always spectacular.

This is a terrific place to stay. Our room had a very nice living room with a fireplace and a separate bedroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The deck looked out on a green belt and the breakfast room was very cozy.

Rooms were clean, and expectations for room service were clearly spelled out that we need to request it if preferred. In these times with staff shortages, very appropriate. Kitchen staff did a great job replenishing items and keeping the area clean. The public areas with the fireplace and outdoor area with the fire pit were great.

The Manchester view is a much better value . Your staff was very pleasant and helpful and friendly but with a minor expense on your part the room would be much more safe, especially for older guest and more user friendly

If our lavish rooms and full, energizing breakfasts aren't enough to take your breath away, our spectacular mountains views will. Recipients of the AAA Four Diamond Award for the past fourteen years and a Select Registry property - a Manchester inn exclusive. One enchanting evening with us and you'll understand why.
Our recent stay at Ormsby Hill was our 12th visit in the past 3 years. It is truly our home away from home in Manchester! Jack & MaryAnn are warm and caring innkeepers who always make their guests feel welcomed and cared for. The inn is filled with historic charm and character and all the rooms are comfortable and furnished tastefully with a cozy elegance. Over the years, we've stayed in many of the rooms that are there, each with it's own personality. Whenever we need a calm, relaxing and restful weekend, the Ormsby Inn is our go to place. Looking forward to going back in the fall to check out the refurbished rooms! Gene & Joanne Buccini

The Equinox , a four season resort, is a year-round playground for lovers of the outdoors with fresh mountain air, incredible views and world-class recreational activities that take you from the gently rolling hills of the golf course to the mountain trails. Nestled amidst Vermont's Green Mountains, near Stratton and Bromley and on 1,300 acres in the quaint village of Manchester Village, Vermont, The Equinox offers tennis, golf, spa, hiking trails , lawn games, s'mores by the fie pit and a variety of seasonal resort activities all year long.
We booked a 3 bedroom condominium at the Equinox to attend our niece and nephew's graduation. We had stayed here in the past in one of the hotel rooms but needed more space for family that was joining us. We rented a 3 bedroom "recently renovated" town home with a full kitchen, dining room and living area. We arrived late in the evening and noticed the shower head was spewing water all over the bathroom when we turned it on. This was just the beginning. The furniture had wine and food stains all over the fabric on multiple chairs and stools. There were TWO coffee mugs and THREE spoons in the kitchen....for a 3 bedroom unit that sleeps 6 adults. Upon waking the next morning we were shocked at the condition of the bed linens and the overall state of the unit.
