What a place such beautiful views and friendly local people. It’s a must do if people are ever near these mountains. Fresh air and simply couldn’t get enough. The park has been well taken care of and this shows.

Situated at the top of the magnificent Drakensberg Escarpment, just within Lesotho’s Maluti Mountains, close to the border with South Africa. On a well-used horse and walking route into the Lesotho interior, Sani Stone Lodge has a stunning setting overlooking the beautiful Sani River about 8kms from Sani Top. It is being developed and run by Mr Phoka Ntlhoki and Makhele Sekati.
The Stone Lodge, despite having super friendly and welcoming staff, really is very basic with only a generator on for a couple of hours a day, and no good water pipes fitted, such that if it freezes, all pipes will freeze and you will have no water in your room. This is what happened to us. It was ok for one night, since we moved on to a new accommodation, but for longer stays - this would be a big issue. The fireplace in the room was charming and provided some much needed warmth. Dinner was average but breakfast was really not nice at all. We found it to be expensive for what it was.

I think generally I had high expectations from this place...we firstly on arrival waited over 10 minutes for the receptionist and when she came she barely greeted she just kept asking is it you who called I ignored her because from a mosotho lady greetings is very important is shows respect eventually I asked her why she's not greetings and she's like oh hello...then the room was just ok nothing fancy the kitchen didn't have teaspoons for tea not enough sugar or milk... breakfast no juice no tea no cutlery dry salad without dressing served with dumpling...the dumpling was delicious though but it's not something I'd pair with English breakfast but rather with a stew...but my car broke down and the receptionist was kind enough to let us use their phone...but a smile on her face would be great despite her unprofessionalism

Can’t recommend the Clan Guest House enough. Freshly renovated rooms with great decor. Great walk-in shower with plenty of hot water and nice towels. Well heated rooms - essential at this altitude. The food served in the dinning area was really excellent. The locally sourced lamb chops were a revelation. The breakfast buffet would not have been out of place in a high end city hotel. Perhaps the secret here is how great the staff are. Many of them trained in top hotels. It really shows in the attention to detail. Friendliness is something you can’t necessarily train - but the welcome was amongst the warmest I’ve received in Lesotho. The guest house lies a little beyond the tarmac road beyond Thaba-Tseka town, but it is well worth the extra 10 mins to get there.

Maliba Lodge also offers a kids club to keep your little ones entertained.
Maliba is a very nice place to stay while visiting Lesotho. Its location in the mountains is stunning and the views from every angle are wonderful! We stayed in a Riverside Chalet that fit four adults and four children easily. The chalet was nice and comfortable but was lacking for self catering purposes. It has the basics but nothing extra (stock up on coffee if you dont want to make the trip to the lodge for your first morning cup) cleanliness was a 3.5 out of 5, nothing awful but cupboards are old and dusty and corners and small spaces are not well looked after. Overall we really enjoyed our stay the hiking that can be done right from the lodge is a major bonus. Restaurant was a 3.5 out of 5, as service and food ranged from good to great depending on the meal.

Stayed here on the 3rd July , The hotel in general and the room was quite lovely. Lots of sitting areas in the common areas and ornaments and paintings that are unique to Lesotho. Was surprised to find a gym there though i did not use it. There is a big swimming pool as well but the water looked dirty so not sure it's functional. Dinner was good , but the drinks were hot (soft drinks) . For breakfast it was odd to see the fried eggs already cooked , therefore you don't have an option of whether it should be hard/ soft etc or if you wanted it scrambled... The staff in the dining hall were very friendly. I'd stay here again

The place is new and clean. It is located about 20 minute driving from the city center. The breakfast is quite good, but the best point is that the beds are really comfortable. In addition, the staff is really polite. It is a great choice for Maseru.
