Located on the northeastern coast of the Samana Peninsula, Las Terrenas offers miles of protected inshore waters and beautiful, undeveloped white-sand-beaches, lined with tall palm trees and pastel-colored fishing boats. Trade winds and the warm temperature of the sub-tropical Atlantic Ocean bring this part of the island year-round balmy weather. With a year-round average of 77 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperatures vary only 18 degrees between summer and winter.

I rented two three bedroom apartments for a family vacation in May. The hotel is beautiful, clean and well maintained. Everything was perfect from the bottled water provided, to the clear/clean pool and gorgeously landscaped grounds. The made to order breakfasts were outstanding! They also had plenty of fresh fruit, pastries, breads and freshly made juices. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and professional. I travel several times a year and frequently stay at high end hotels, this one is a gem, I highly recommend them!

On the Northeast coast of the Dominican Republic lies the dramatic lush, green tropical jungle clad hills and fine-sand beaches of the Samana Peninsula. Tucked away in this unspoiled tropical paradise lies Sublime Samana, a modern yet elegant luxury resort and member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The seven-acre property centers around the expansive canal of pools stretching nearly 500 feet from end-to-end. Rooms have been artfully built to create a contemporary setting in harmony with nature. One- and two-bedroom suites feature a living room, master bedroom and bathroom, guest bathroom, spacious balcony, and kitchen with Viking appliances. Views from the room are of the canals of streaming pools that line the lush gardens. We had a wonderful extended stay at Sublime! The property was super tranquil and the beach is truly a sight to see. The apartment style rooms are kept very clean and and offer plenty of space with a full kitchen. We enjoyed the balcony in the evenings overlooking the hotel grounds. The food was delicious and fresh, and the kitchen offers vegan options, which were much appreciated. Above all, the service was impeccable! Special mention to Angel and Ronny who work the beach and Rudy at the front desk. Looking forward to our next stay soon! William P.

This trip was absolutely amazing. I'm so glad that we stayed outside of the high tourist areas like Punta Cana and La Romana. We decided on Las Terrenas and it was fantastic. The hotel is close to many many restaurants but also has one of their own. El Torro (sp?) had a pretty good menu of fresh fish and seafood as well as many other common menu items. There is a bar on the beach and right near the front of the hotel for drinks and hanging out. The hotel had breakfast every morning with a variety of local dishes and fresh fruit. There was also an omelet/egg station. The staff at the front desk and bars were friendly, even in the spa. I had a hard time because I didn't speak Spanish very well but my friend is fluent so I'm glad she was with me. The villa/apartment was nice and comfortable. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath. One has a king bed and the other had two twin beds. There is ample seating in the living area and outdoors on the patio. Kitchen was equipped if you wanted to cook dinner. Also a water cooler is provided. The spa, pool, and other areas were also nice. Parking is bad, or maybe I should say the area is small, but we were always able to find somewhere to park on the property. There is an armed security guard after dark. That scared me but also assured me. Overall, great stay. Would stay here again if ever in Las Terrenas.

I was so excited to bring my husband here to experience for the first time a all inclusive 5 star resort. I was disappointed at the quality of the food. One morning My kids wanted pancakes....the pancakes where undercooked and hard. The white rice was oily. The fish salty. I was told the wine comes in a bag..which makes sense why it tastes horrible. To make it short the food is not great at all. I was also upset that they hosted one of their night shows but there was not enough chairs so we ended up sitting on the floor with our kids. When I asked front desk and Public relations if they could bring over plastic chairs from the other entertainment areas they said no. I told them it's very disappointing to know that my family and I paid for luxury 5 star service and they have us sitting on the floor when they can clearly make an exception to accommodate their guests. So overall friends I wouldn't see this resort as a 5 star resort I would come with the expectation of a esthetically appealing resort on the outside but in reality more of a 2 or 2.5 star resort. Most of the staff is very nice. Specially entertainment staff and house keeping. Restaurant staff not so friendly. Sincerely room 26211 Thanks

This boutique hotel was like from a dream!!! It was so peaceful and beautiful, I fell in love. The room was a great size and clean. The grounds were unbelievable and the breakfast was great. They have this amazing jam, wish I could get some shipped to New York. The location is also perfect and the employees are so loving. Hope to stay there soon again

Dream with the infinite, with the earth that embraces, with the sea that rocks, with the tree that protects ... what if you don't dream it? What if it is real? Saman Resort - A Real Native Concept, located in Las Terrenas offers an unique accommodation. Surrounded by nature, all rooms have been designed with sustainably extracted natural elements.
My fiancée and I were for the second time in Las Terrenas and we were very disappointed. It was a short trip of three nights. Pros The hotel is beautiful and very comfortable. It’s in a great location near by beautiful beaches. We had a deluxe suite with terrace which was nice and decent. Cons The arrival day after a long trip we decided to go to the rooftop jacuzzi and we realized it was dirty and all the chairs were covered by birds dropping. We understood it was because we went aroun 5 PM and let the front desk know, Also the jacuzzi was off and it supposed to be on until 8pm even we told them they didn’t turn it on. The food was my biggest disappointment no flavor at all. It could be better and the amount relatively small for the prices. Only have 4 breakfasts options available. The menu was poorly made. Once we asked for chocolate pancakes and came with oats which was not described in the menu. The room was cleaned everyday but they didn’t restock the fridge and coffee capsule since the arrival day. The hand shower didn’t work and the hot water didn’t work properly most of the time. They don’t have steamers. We asked for an iron and they brought it without the ironing board. It’s not what you see on social media. I guess we had high expectations that they couldn’t succeed It could be better if they take care of the property and offer what you paid for. It’s beautiful place but just that. It’s not what you see on social media. I guess we had high expectations that they couldn’t succeed.

With its original architecture, the Atlantis Charming Hotel offers 18 rooms of different sizes (from 2 to 5 people). Simply decorated with taste and delicacy (bath, air conditioning, fan, mini-bar); they have exotic names like Jamaïca, Bali, El Paso, Ibiza ... From the kiosk of the beach to the terrace or under the arcades of the restaurant, so many pleasant and convivial places to taste the stuffed chicken leg with lobster, the caramel sauce coconut flan ... You are at Gérard, ex Chef de l'Élysée, who offers his talent by combining local products and French tradition. Holiday like a dream, in the shade of tropical vegetation on Playa Bonita, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic
Beachside location and helpful management pluses. But one of the rooms I had, "Acapulco", was next to the hot water heater for the whole building. Horrible noises from 2:30 AM on. Rooms are very spartan without basic amenities like tea kettle and hair dryer. A drawback for me was the extremely brightly lit corridors which are painted bright white. So you are half woke up again by the time you get to your room to go to sleep. The property as a whole is over lit at night; again not restful. Restaurant serves very mediocre french food, with a typical French attitude.

Me, my wife my daughter and my parents in law went to eat at this restaurant yesterday we are regulars that been coming to Las terrenas for the past 12 years, i personally ordered the ravioli that there was exactly 8 small raviolis in my plate if I would have opened up a can of chef boyardee I would have got a bigger serving my parents-in-law had the hamburger it was dry and hard like a rock it literally made McDonald's hamburgers look and taste like rib steak my parents-in-law stop eating and gave their burger to a dog and no word of a lie the dog actually refused to eat it, and also to put the cherry on the top our food and drinks or brought to our table and our table got infested of ants we told the waiter and he told us it's like that and walked away.

The hotel Residence Marilar is located directly on "las ballenas" beach, just 1 km from the "fishermans village" of Las Terrenas, northeast of the Dominican Republic, in Samana Peninsula. This is a modern residence with a large swimming pool and jacuzzi, surrounded by a beautiful garden, which faces the sea. Apartments in hotel Marilar are all air conditioned with a private balcony overlooking the pool and with magnificent views over the beach and sea.
We stayed in apartment 6, a one bedroom apartment my son and I. The apartment is spacious and the view to the beach is the best! The fridge is big and cold, and the WiFi works well. The furniture is beach’s style and overall comfortable. Not the best but good for one week. The show is functioning.f You can have breakfast for USD 10 at the Eden beach club on the beach next door. They have great pancakes, omelette, juices and fruits. The best souvenir was the message from Judy on the apartment terrace. She is great and very sweet. All the stuff was very nice. I definitely recommend to stay at Marilar! Nite - we did not try the pool and mainly used the sea and beaches who are fabulous! We did an Excursion with Franco Excursion. Do not use this guy, it is very bad value excursion, especially the one to the Island close to Samana- he is not related to the hotel. The best restaurant in the area is Porto.

This was our 3rd time in Las Terrenas. Las Palmas was the best accommodation that we've ever had. The cottage was very homy, cozy and clean. It had absolutely all accommodations including kitchen utensils. It is only 5 min walk from the beach. Cottages are very private and surrounded by a beautiful garden. Service was superb. Our host made sure that we had all we needed. Unlike most places Las Palmas has room service. I would highly recommend this place.
