One of Austria's most luxurious ski resorts, ritzy Kitzbühel, known as "Kitz," basks between the Hahnenkamm and Kitzbüheler Horn mountains. Every winter, Hahnenkamm's Streif slope is the site of one of the hardest downhill runs of the World Cup Ski Race. In summer, this Tirolean town sees tennis fans arrive in droves for the Austrian Open. Its winding, cobblestone medieval streets are packed with sports cars and upscale boutiques as Europe's glitterati descend on these hallowed slopes.

We stayed recently as a mature family group and found every part of the hotel and people as good as all the other 5* reviews say. Nothing to criticise, all as described and the service was better even than hoped, an endearing and delightful bunch of people in a quiet family hotel. Plenty of places to drink & party in the town if that's your thing. The main lift was easily walkable, as was the ski bus stop for a 30 min free ride to Pass Thurn, the snow was better there for our weeks skiing.

We had considered staying in Schlosshotel Lebenberg on earlier visits to Kitzbuhel but didn’t for reasons of geography, (distance to ski lifts). However, during this visit to Kitzbuhel, (a non-skiing trip), as we stood outside one of our former hotels and looked up the road to the Hahnenkamm lift, (a road we “laboured” up and down every day), I had something of an epiphany. Staying at the Lebenberg required only a few yards walk to the shuttle-bus in the morning and a few steps at the end of the day. No tedious marching up and down roads in ski boots. The Lebenberg ski-shuttle service was praised by other guests but it was late season and skier numbers were low. How the shuttle would cope when the hotel is busier, could be more of a problem, as there are only two buses, (a six seater and an eight I believe). So what about the actual hotel itself? Again, the situation could be a little tedious, if you regularly took a walk into the town. It’s hardly arduous but the walk back uphill could become a little tiresome. Not that there is any reason to go into town much. The amenities that the hotel offers are first class and almost remove the desire to venture out. The plus side of the hotel’s lofty position are the views from the balcony rooms - simply gorgeous. Modern architects get a bad rap in general but the people who designed this hotel did a terrific job. Delivering a maximum number of rooms with stunning views, great amenities and modern style. However, if you're looking for lots of “traditional” wood, chalet style and the heads of dead animals on the wall - better look elsewhere. I know that service in Austria is generally excellent but Lebenberg takes service to a different level. I could (but won't) name names. It would be unfair to those members of staff not named. We had only praise, for every member of staff, from top to bottom Most good hotels have a pool but I'll wager they don't have a pool anywhere near as good as Schlosshotel Lebenberg. A 50m long infinity pool on the top floor, with beautiful views of the rooftops of Kitzbuhel below and the world famous Hahnenkamm race-course, winding down the mountain - as you swim. Trust me - you could justify your visit on the basis of that pool alone. Simply breathtaking. In our 40 years of holidaying in Austria, we found that hotel food generally falls into two types. Those that broadly adhere to Austrian culinary tradition, delivering a truly (ahem) “filling experience”. Or have a five-star hotel chef, who values presentation and technical prowess above all. The problem here is that these culinary “fireworks” often leave you still hungry. Food at the Lebenberg throws a new category into the mix. A hugely talented kitchen brigade, that delivers serious food-guide quality but in portion sizes that don't leave you hungry, half an hour after dinner. The imagination, the flavours, the sauces and reductions were all breathtakingly good but above all the soups! I've never had a better week of half-board food anywhere - yes, anywhere. There is one point you should be aware of - evening meals on half-board are four courses, with no choices. Saying that, dietary requests are catered for and this is clearly stated on the evening menu. From the standpoint of two unfussy “omnivore-foodies”, the meals were simply spectacular. As for breakfast, again, I don't think we have had better. No point me listing the stuff on offer - they had everything both savoury and sweet. For those of us from the UK and the US, the hot breakfast items were extremely good. My bacon roll in the morning, (and the rest), was an absolute delight. In conclusion, you would have to be a particularly “hard to please'' guest, to find any fault with Schlosshotel Lebenberg. If I had to highlight anything it would be this - go for a balcony room if you can - they are worth it. That stunning balcony view is down to the location of the hotel, on a hill outside the main town. This wasn’t something that fazed two (reasonably) fit people in their late 60’s but something to bear in mind - even more so if you’re a skier staying during peak ski season. However, if you want a truly relaxing experience, with spectacular amenities, views, food and drink - this hotel should be top of your list.

Kitzbühel - sophisticated charm, majestic scenery.Built in the style of a Tyrolean castle, the A-ROSA Kitzbühel perches on the sunny side of the valley, surrounded by the most beautiful 9-hole golf course in Austria. The views sweep over lush greens from the Wilder Kaiser region to the famous Streif. Kitzbühel is a year-round meeting place for athlets and sports enthusiasts in search of sublime nature and international flair paired with the authentic Tyrolean lifestyle.
Never received such a treatment. Not even in a hostel of the worst category ... and if this happens in a chain of hotels that claims to be “five stars”, then it becomes even ridiculous. I spent two days at the Hotel A-Rosa Kitzbühel with my partner and my one and a half year old daughter to celebrate my birthday. The facility is nice, but nothing special. The hotel is accessed via the garage, which is something already not suitable for a five-star hotel. The room we were given was quite small and I immediately noticed the presence of hair on the sofa. The blackout curtains were too short so it is absolutely impossible for people who can't stand the light to sleep in the morning. The bathroom is very small and equipped with two sinks but, given the very limited space, it is impossible for two people to use them at the same time. In addition, the small bathroom mirror is located exactly in the middle of the two sinks: therefore, it is impossible to mirror yourself while using one of the two sinks. The extras (especially the wine) are overpriced: about 50 Euro for a very standard bottle of white wine. A fee of Euro 15 per day is charged if you use the hotel parking, which is the only one in the neighbourhood. But all what above can be tolerated. On the other hand, what cannot be tolerated is the rudeness of the blonde receptionist (if it can be defined as such). On the morning of departure (May 13, 2022) we kindly asked to take advantage of the “late check out” (a service offered by the hotel for a fee) and we were rudely denied. Answer from this “receptionist”: NO, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE, AT 11.00 YOU MUST BE OUT. I then asked if it was at least possible to leave the room just twenty minutes or half an hour after the scheduled check out time (11.00 am): having a small child, this would have been very useful. The answer was: NO, I SAID YOU MUST LEAVE THE ROOM AT 11 AM AND NOT A MINUTE LATER. When I pointed out that these are not answers to be given to customers who pay 1,000 Euros (!!) for two nights, I was told the following: I DO NOT CARE, YOU LEAVE THE ROOM AT 11.00, DO WHAT YOU WANT. And, even worse, the discussion continued at the moment of the check out when the lady told me that she was fully right as we musted leave the room not even a minute after the scheduled check out time. A course of politeness should be attended before "pretending" to work in a hotel that claims to be 5 stars. On the other hand, nothing to complain about the behaviour of the other members of the staff, very friendly and helpful.

This was the first time for my 18 month daughter in the alps. I stopped by for a lunch on month before my stay just in o check how it works with really small children. I was told that they don’t have a children’s playroom and thing like that but we were more than welcome.. So we arrived 10 in the morning our room was already ready we had a really nice senior suite we were also told that we could check out what time we wanted on departure day (stayed for 4 nights). The service was outstanding the booked a nanny for us 2 days me and my girlfriend could go skiing together. The hotel garden was perfect for my little daughter to play in ok it was 20 degrees outside and no snow in the garden but anyway :) The lunch at the their terrace is probably the best place in Kitzbuhel to have lunch in just strange that no one else seems to know about it I have had 6 lunches on the terrace in total and at maximum to other tables occupied. When it comes to breakfast it is world class no question about it… We travelled last week they were opened so gourmet restaurant was closed and the menu in the lunch was pretty similar to the dinner that could have been better as well as more wines by the glass ( they hade like 10 included champagne) ..normally this is no problem for me because I always go by the bottle but now we had our little daughter and was not able to have so very long dinners. Thanks a lot Tennerhof we will come back next year!

We have stayed in this hotel before. It is excellent - the room was very good, we had a balcony overlooking the mountain. We also liked the spa area and the pool - which is a good size. My son and I had a one week skiing holiday here at close to the end of the ski season. The hotel is at the bottom of one of the main ski slopes so you can almost ski in (when you take your skis off at the bottom of the run you only have about 50 paces to their boot room). Also it is the closest hotel to the Hahnenkamm ski lift (a couple of hundred yards away). The breakfasts are very good and the staff charming. We ate out every night as there are many good restaurants in the town, which is a very short walk away. Also consider taking the train to the resort rather than driving. We fly into Munich then train from Munich airport direct to the Hahnenkamm railway station in Kitzbuhel, from where you can walk 100 yards to the hotel.

Alpenhotel Kitzbuhuel is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. We were slightly worried as it has been newly refurbished so a lot of the photos online are artists impressions. However, the reality more than lived up to it. The food was incredible - breakfast was so copious it would have suited anyone and the dinner was 6 courses of deliciousness. We loved afternoon tea (which included savoury dishes such as chili con carne, pasta and Austrian pizza as well as cakes). The room (the Garden Suite) was so comfortable with an enormous TV, amazing bed, beautiful views and our own personal sauna! The infinity pool is gorgeous and very scenic and we loved the Kalm room where people chilled out on day beds. Lastly, the staff were so kind and helpful (as well as forgiving of our rubbish German) - particularly shout-out to Chiara on front desk and our waiter Dean. We can’t wait to come back - possibly in summer!

This small family run hotel is very well located, in the heart of Kitzbühel and just a few steps from the ski gondola. This may not be the most luxurious hotel in Kitzbühel but here you will get incredibly friendly and helpful staff that is more than willing to go the extra mile to make your stay in Kitzbühel as good as can be, a kind of service you will not get at the luxurious hotels. The hotel is clean, roomy, with great views from the rooms terraces, good sauna and infrared, ski storage and more. The breakfast buffet is very good.

We come to Kirchberg since I was a child, since I have family here. This is the first hotel I have seen here that does not follow the mass tourismus path. Starting with a nice breakfast buffet that comprises only local products to the friendly reception to the thoughtful interior design and to the music they play we were really surprised and will definetely come again!
