A few rough edges but good overall

Reviewed By tboudreau2018

As many have noted, this is an older hotel that could use a few updates, but our overall stay was pleasant. Great location on the river down a quiet stretch on the river, about eight blocks from downtown. Nice retro vibe, although the drop ceilings, worn carpet and older furniture in the hallways might put some folks off. The stairwells could also use a good sweep. That said, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the desk staff was friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was excellent, and the lady in charge (Dominica?) was warm and welcoming. She's a great way to start the day. Would definitely stay again.

Clean, classy and comfortable

This was my first stay at this property. Right off the bat, I noticed the front desk staff was very welcoming. Sometimes. it can seem that the front desk folks at other hotels have had a long day (or night) and would rather be anywhere else. Not here. My interactions during the day and at 3 in the morning were friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean and comfortable as is the rest of the hotel. This property is very conveniently located next to a Walmart, numerous places to eat within walking distance and a Starbucks and Walgreens right across the street.

The suite was sweet.

We had a nice stay. The main thing I look for in a room is a comfortable bed - and it was. The next thing I look for is a good shower with the shower head high enough, I'm 6'3" - and yes, I could stand up in the shower, even when I was rinsing. Everything was clean and in order. There is plenty of room to for your bags. In the morning we enjoyed breakfast with good coffee. The help is helpful and friendly. About the only negative I can think of is that the room could use more lights if you are a reader. The next time I'm in the Tri Cities, I'll come back!

Nice enough hotel, but made to feel unwelcome

Reviewed By jjh_78

We enjoyed our convention very much and the front desk staff was very accommodating and nice whenever we interacted with them. However, we had several interactions with the manager that probably could have been handled better and left our group overall feeling very unwelcome in the hotel. At a hotel where we were paying for 15 rooms no less. While we understand that teenagers (especially ones that have been unable to have in-person experiences such as our state convention for over two years) can get over excited, be forgetful about room keys and probably leave more mess for housekeeping than the average guest...each time I spoke with the front desk and asked if there was a problem with our group, complaints about our group or if I needed to address anything with specific students I was told no. In fact, several of the front desk gals that I spoke with actually said that our kids had been very polite and respectful when interacting with hotel staff. Unfortunately, that just made it more disheartening that we were made to feel so unwelcome. We are a public school, not a large corporation that can provide our employees with meal accounts and have generous budgets. These kids are paying for this trip with their own money and we had several amazing chaperones who got very creative and worked hard to make sure that our group was fed at minimal cost to these hardworking kids. Yer, instead of looking for a way to help us get that done our group was repeatedly told that we had to change the way we were doing things with no thought for the situation we were coming from. In addition, we offered to pay what the school could afford to use a conference room for practicing and were told no (yet the rooms were unoccupied, the entirety of our stay). This led to kids (from all the schools, not just ours) having to practice as best they could in the common areas and outside. I'm sure this was irritating for staff, but we weren't given another choice. Especially once we were no longer allowed to practice on the side of the lobby where the dining area is located (even though there was not a person in sight waiting to dine or wanting food service). The location of the hotel was great and the rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. The students very much enjoyed having access to a pool and loved the convention, but as I stated previously, it was really disheartening to be made to feel so unwelcome (students and adults) by the management consistently throughout o
