The “little nest” of Kenmare is part of the famed Ring of Kerry, making it a prime stop for a spot of lunch and a pint. But before you go on your merry way, check out the area’s Bronze Age stone circle, one of the largest in southwest Ireland. The peaceful glens and streams of Gleninchaquin make a wonderful backdrop for a picnic, which you can work off on a walk along the Kenmare section of the Beara Way.

Charming hotel. A short stroll to the centre of the village. Staff excellent. Food in the bar was very good. We would have loved tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Two glasses provided for bottled water but no bottled water. That would have been nice. I'm sure if we asked, the bottles of water would have been provided. Breakfast was excellent.

This hotel is 5 star on arrival, beautiful decor, fire lighting, our bedroom, very spacious and beautifully decorated overlooking the falls. Lovely walks and grounds to explore. Sadly what lets this hotel down is its staff. We had a beautiful dinner in the falls dining room, when our meal eventually came. They lost our mains order so we were told, we overlooked that as mistakes can happen, however we ordered irish coffees, waited 30minutes, eventually arrived cold. I am not even going to explain what happened at breakfast, staff all over the place with no guidance. Wrong orders again, heard many guests complain. I was actually waiting for Basil Fawlty to arrive. This hotel is 5 star with 5 star prices not acceptable.

We were really looking forward to our night away in the Kenmare Bay Hotel. On arrival we had to queue for quite a while to check in. The room was satisfactory. We booked dinner in the restaurant for that evening. Again, a wait to be seated in a quiet restaurant. We had looked at the menu online before arriving but on getting the menu there was just four starters and 4 mains on the menu. We just got a main each, which arrived 35/40 mins after ordering. The steak was poor. It was very fatty and soaking in oil. Two other groups of diners next to us also complained about the food and service in the hour we were there. There are also children running and screaming up and down the hallways all evening and into the night It's a pity the hotel promises so much but unfortunately delivered so little.

Davitt's is a family run guesthouse/bed and breakfast in the centre of Kenmare, Co Kerry. Rooms are well-appointed and en-suite. Downstairs there is a friendly bar bistro where guests can relax in front of the open fire and a restaurant serving some of the best food in town. Groups and tours welcome by prior arrangement.
All the five star comments about Davitts I wholeheartedly endorse, but in my case, they went above and beyond the call of duty. Due to my own ineptitude using Booking.com, I had inadvertently mucked up the booking for myself, my sister and her husband, somehow ending up with six beds for three people. Then in steps Mary who, with grace and charm, sorted me and my mess out. This was all done in a way that left me feeling like a genuinely valued customer. Thank you Mary!

We booked a room at OSheas for 4 nights early April with our two kids, 10 and 11 years old. It was just wonderful here. Therese was so welcoming and kind. Breakfast was amazing (her scones are THE BEST we have ever had). She went out of her way to help with local travel ideas, customize our breakfast options (kids looked forward to pancakes every day) and just make us feel at home. I can't imagine a better experience for our family. Thank you Therese for everything. Our family has been through a lot in the past couple of years and this was absolutely the perfect getaway from it all. I know that when our kids grow up, they will remember our time with you. We hope to come back some day! Thank you for everything.
