I stayed in GK Guest Palace for five nights, the first two nights was in a room that has a door connecting to the other room, so whenever guests from the other room are conversing a bit loudly or a TV is on,you can hear them, and that can be disturbing. The Hotel is hidden right behind former Daula Hotel Kano and Wellcare Pharmacy and Supermarket. The roads linking the hotel to main road are very rough. It is well secured in a quiet environment. The interior of the hotel and the rooms are very clean and well lit, the prices of food are a bit high. There's a rail line behind the hotel, so whenever a train is passing, the environment may become noisy. You can't regret staying there as the place is so far among the best around. The Wi-Fi is free but not very strong. In general the facility is neat, though small. I will check in again whenever I'm in Kano.

Stayed at Grand Central Hotel, Kano for some day for an official event. The hotel is an edifice to behold but lacks proper maintenance. Some of the room were good while a few required continuous maintenance. Structure is old and not properly maintained. It ia at the center of town and offers proximity to lots of malls. Meals are ok but could be better.

I checked out a couple of old and not so cool hotels in the Sabon Gari area and was advised to try the GRA. When I inspected the surroundings of the Quarterhouse and the rooms at the prices they were going for, I was impressed. I did not hesitate to check in and when I couldn't finish my business the next day on time, I went back for a second night. A few points to note: The Manager was warm, not all rooms can connect to the wi-fi, the food was nice but can be better, no alcohol is sold and there is a taxi service.

A lovely and nice hotel but requires proper maintenance. Rooms are nice but have not been maintained adequately. Guess, the hotel does not know its capability. For a building of its height, an elevator would have made a difference. Lots of car parking and other amenities such as a salon. With adequate renovation and upgrade of standards, the hotel will be one to compete with.

One can tell by the layout of the place that someone once upon a time had an idea and spend a lot of money to turn it into reality. Unfortunately that must have been 25+ years ago. The lack of neglect, maintenance and care is visible everywhere! The none serviceable swimming pool looks like a refuse dump is filled with nylon bags and other rubbish. The rooms have never seen a vacuum cleaner in their lifetime and even the tiled sections and the bathroom marble were so dirty that I had to think twice if I really wanted to have a shower - but as Kano is hot and dusty I did, only to find myself standing under a great looking piece of rain shower that was merely dripping. Oh and before I forget - just don't bother ordering for breakfast even the small money they'll charge is too much and will get an angry start of the day. The only good thing one can say about this "Hotel" is its location as its two (2) minutes walk to Kano Motor Club where decent food, a well stocked Bar and a Humidor are awaiting you at very reasonable prices.

This hotels lack just about everything. Minimal meal selection, poor or no functioning rooms, avoid if you can, there are more cleaner and reasonable priced places in Kano, so keep looking. Service is minimal, A/C is drifts and noisy.

Although there was security present outside this hotel there was not much presence inside. There is lots of space for parking. Kano does not have that many cabs so be prepared to pay the higher price at the hotel in order to have a driver with a car take you to where you are going. The decor is quite dark. Most of the shops inside the hotel were shut. This hotel only takes cash payments so make sure you bring enough with you. The room I stayed in was very large. It had a lounge area separate to the bedroom. The rooms were very poorly cleaned and the electrical wiring was hanging out of the walls. There was only one plug socket available in each room so you have to choose between plugging in your mobile charger, the fridge, the TV or your laptop. I was given a Wi-Fi token but it did not connect to anything. The air conditioning units were really noisy so I had to switch them off in order to get some sleep. The food selection was very poor and given how dirty the room was I thought it unwise to eat there. Instead I went to the shops inside Ado Bayero mall, which is lovely. Whilst the service at reception was nice, the hotel itself is really not worth the money.
