They did our laundry very fast. The beach was right there and there were lots of options for excursions. I would definitely recommend to others.

Reviewed By EamonnF6It is, literally, off the beaten path (you’ll see what I mean when you get there) which makes it the most peaceful and relaxing place you’ll ever go to. The rooms are all separate and private so you can have all the quiet you need. The sand is like powder. The staff are all incredible. We had the private beach BBQ and the beach cinema which is a lovely way to spend the evening. The small number of rooms mean that, even at peak times, there are no more than six people at any one time on a beach that stretches for miles.

Gorgeous nature, a sea of sun, and a clean beautiful ocean, the sound of the surf. The hotel features beautiful and spacious rooms. The hotel staff is always ready to help and realize any of your requests. Everyone is very kind and welcoming. Of the minuses, perhaps, only a very long transfer from Colombo airport (almost 7 hours by bus) and a large amount of spicy food and curry, from which you start to get tired at the end of your vacation, can be noted.

Reviewed By Thiru RStayed 3 nights nice hotel great location. Paul was very knowledgeable person who knows inside and out whole of Batticaloa. Had to upgrade my room to Seaview which was amazing. Front office and the restaurant staff were very efficient. I was very disappointed with the food. Prices charged was correct for the buffet but hardly anything available. A la carte menu was there half of the items ordered were unavailable. Apart from that everything else were fine. The competition in the area is very high the management needs to take look into this otherwise they will loose out.

Reviewed By wasantha123I went to aki villa with a couple from france .this place in kalkuda is located in a very peaceful and quite nebourhood.it has a large swimming pool .the garden of the hotel is full of flora and forna .they also have a restaurant (they will prepare anything for your conveiniance for sure ) they offer me even the driver accomotation for a very reasonable rate and with a little bit of money spend i also had all my meals at aki villa (if you need futher cheap prices the owner of aki villa also have a hotel in the heart of valachchena(near to police station and petrol shed /to the pasikudah road ). The staff of this hotel is very good and they will give you a very fast and excellent services upon your requests .the morning breakfast was fantastic as well as all the dinners i had there .very clean environment with always smiling people .they also let me clean and wash my vehicle without any additional cost .you can experience the fisherman life (everything they do)just 500 meters away from the hotel (ask your hotel and they will organize it at your conveiniance ) most important thing is that they have rooms for a very relaible and cheap prices while other hotels having unbearable prices .highly recommended for local and foriegn guests and for families .i would definitely take my guests to aki villa again .finally i have found "The place " to stay in pasikudah .all the best

The pool was another strong point of the hotel! Monas was the coolest guy ever! He organised a perfect surprise dinner by the beach for me and my wife! The food superb! Giman Free Beach Resort location, had been untouched for three decades due to the ethnic conflict. The coral reef and shallow waters created with the bay set a fascinating location. The barrier reef is home to a variety of tropical fish as well as offering sightings of whales, dolphins, mantra rays, reef sharks and other exotic sea creatures. This underwater habitat provides a perfect diving spot for tourists.
ITS CLOSED - 29/1/22, Agoda booking stranded
Reviewed By Marc BAt this moment I am unsure as to where the blame lies but I wanted anyone that has an erroneous booking for the next few days to know This hotel is CLOSED. No Manager, No chef, skeleton staff. Unfortunately for me I didn't know until after I had travelled 3 hours to get to the Giman free resort. I eventually spoke with the Marketing manager who put the blame with Agoda and I have since received an email from Agoda passing the buck back to the Hotel. My point of this review is just to let anyone with a booking it is currently closed and there is no sign of it opening soon. I have marked the hotel down to 1 star as Even if the fault lay with Agoda/Booking.com etc I can still today book a room for tonight and that should of been checked by the hotel company even if they highlighted the problem, they also have means of contacting every customer to inform them of the closure. I will not comment on the condition of the resort or its readiness for business but for now my advice is stay clear.
