I've done a lot of traveling, and this was by far the most beautiful and spacious room with a gorgeous view of the marsh (especially at sunset). Would highly recommend staying here. My room was at the San Souci in Jekyll Island Club Resort.

Great location right on the beach. Roomy areas outside where some guests were grilling and eating. Two pools to choose from. Nice boardwalk to the ocean. The room was plain but clean. Bike rental conveniently located right on the property edge. Balconies are not private but on a walkway - took me a minute to get used to but then liked meeting the neighbors as we walked by. They provide an extensive breakfast that should suit most anyone - dining room is pleasantly located with an ocean view. It was a very kid-friendly hotel and also saw some dogs. Comparing rates it was as good or better value than anything else I found. Only negative was spotty internet but found that true all over the island.

The outside may look iffy but the rooms on the inside are really nice! Comfy bed, large bathroom/vanity, new furniture. Also, do you come to the beach to spend time in your room? I don’t! Great price and right across the street from the beach. I’m only writing this last sentence to get to 200 characters. Haha.

We stayed 3 nights in a room, as a family of 4 with a small dog. The reasons we chose this property is because they are pet friendly, and the beach is so close. We did pay close to 500/night because it was a holiday weekend. Also, the pictures of the pool on the website looked wonderful. We got a room on the 2nd floor, and it was pretty clean and roomy enough for our queen sized air mattress for one of the kids, to go along with the 2 queen beds. I would rate the mattresses a 6/10. Not the most comfortable, but not the worst, either. The grounds of the hotel are lovely, with the Adirondack chairs and the fire pit. We had brought a s’mores kit with us, but the fire pit close to us was inoperable due to no fuel or something. The swimming pool is much smaller than it appears in the pictures, and it was very crowded due to the hotel being at full capacity. I did question the cleanliness of it because the water was so murky. We did not use the pool for this reason. It was nice having the beach right there and I felt comfortable to let my teen daughter go down there by herself. It was not too crowded and mostly families there, so felt safe. We ate at the restaurant a few times, but only breakfast for 2 of us was included in our stay. It’s a small buffet and not really worth 20.00 dollars a person for breakfast. The front desk people were friendly and helpful when we realized one of the kids forgot their toothbrush and they provided one for her. It was a pretty good location to stay, and proximity to St Simons and Brunswick was good. We would stay there again, but not for the price we paid and only if the pool was clean.

Overall this is a nice hotel in a great location. Made our reservations on line at the Marriott web site over 6 months before arrival reserving three suites for our family vacation, all the suites on the breakfast included plan. We arrived and were immediately greeted by the valet parker/bell stand. We didn't notice any signage regarding prices for valet parking but we did valet anyway and later discovered valet parking is $15.00 a day. Check in was smooth and easy, we got coupons for our breakfast plan. We picked up a sheet at check in that noted that housekeeping will not be servicing guest rooms during our stay. Our room was clean and we were happy we reserved a suite. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were dead kaput. Putting your head on them had no support. Bulk amenities in the bathroom. Lots of towels. Note - there is a resort fee of $20 plus tax daily. You get a coupon for a small Starbucks at the cafe. I guess the towels and pool use are part of that resort fee as bikes are extra cost at $24 for 4 hours. We had dinner twice in the restaurant and breakfast daily. I was very disappointed in the breakfast buffet for a Westin resort. No omelets available nor eggs cooked to order. One day had pancakes and one day at waffles. Servers were all excellent. Kudos to Johnny, Andrew, Aaron, and Megan who served us during our stay. Management should commend them for their excellent service. Location Location Location. The hotel is next to a shopping area with casual dining restaurants, a grocery market and excellent shops. Of course there is the beach, but we warned the beach is not really a good one for swimming. Very calm water and after going out a couple of feet the bottom felt like some gooey mud substance. We were told it always like that. We played in the pool daily. A note about the pool. There is an excellent hot tub. Pool umbrellas are very limited and sparse so get there early and hold your seats if you want an umbrella. The birds enjoy going in and out of the water. Garbage cans were slow to be picked up with overflowing trash on numerous occasions. When you order a drink, you just give them your room number and they ring it up, no check is presented for signature. Be sure to keep track of all your drinks because if someone was dishonest it would not take much for someone to just use your room number as there is no verification by the staff to the room number given. Tips are automatically applied to everything at the Salty's Pool Bar. There is an excellent bike path around the island for both hikers and bikers. We walked on the beach each morning to see the sunrise early. Noted numerous sea turtle nesting areas. We walked to Tortuga Jacks Mexican Restaurant (.75 mile) and a fun mini golf (.75 miles). Overall we had fun.

Home2 Suites by Hilton Jekyll Island is located steps away from Jekyll Island Convention Center and the Village Green, and within an hour’s drive of Jacksonville International Airport. Our pet-friendly studios include free WiFi, an HDTV, sofa bed, and fully-equipped kitchen. Enjoy hotel amenities like free breakfast at our Inspired Table™, our outdoor saline pool, Spin2 Cycle facility, and more.
Good location and room. If you stay for 3 days they don't have room service. You have to go to the front desk to get towels, and toilet paper etc. Shower gel dispense in shower has watered down soap that is so thin I had to use my shampoo on my body to clean. Low flow shower head is pathetic: a trickle at best. Over $200 a night for this!
