Reviewed By rcummins541This resort is amazing. Not only are the grounds and views spectacular, but the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our liaison Rain, took care of all our needs. The resort offers insights on what to see at the national park and provides a shuttle service to the west gate entrance. The food served is also amazing, although it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a few snacks for your room. The sunset dinner is delicious and highly recommend! If you are also leaving to the airport they will also provide shuttle service for a affordable fee. Truly a magnificent place to stay for a couple or with friends!

Reviewed By Katherine DWe stayed here in Sept 2019. This hotel was very clean and in a great location to visit Zhangjiajie. We took a DiDi to the park front entrance, although you could technically walk it. Food was pretty good - for breakfast it was a big buffet with both Chinese and typical American food, so you could sample a bunch of stuff. We didn't eat lunch or dinner here because it was pretty expensive, and there were good restaurants within walking distance downtown. Highly recommend!

Reviewed By Ailton007Friendly staff, spacious rooms and fast WiFi. Descent Chinese food restaurant downstairs and close to scenic spots in the area (Wulingyuan and Tianmen Mountain). Pullman next door has western food it understandablt less options these days given COVID and all.

Reviewed By tollo652The hotel is pretty standard. Rooms are clean and well laid out. The property feels new and well maintained. Staff were helpful and positive. All in all a good place to stay and very good service. Location is good with lots of eating places nearby.

The rooms are spacious and offer a clean environment. The facilities are good and fitting to the size of this hotel. My experience in this hotel was very positive and I can recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to travel for business or vacation. I’m looking forward for another visit in this hotel. One thing I did enjoy a lot, as a diamond member I did receive a free upgrade in the room size. The few from the 32nd floor over the river and the city was beautiful. I am grateful for this upgrade and I loved every minute of my stay.

Reviewed By arvid59We decided to drop the five start hotels in favor of a moderately priced one and spend the savings on guided tours, and it worked out absolutely fine. This place is situated about 5 minutes from the main gate of the national park. The rooms are very spacious and clean, with good wi-fi. The breakfast was a set menu with fried eggs, dumplings, corn, orange juice, two toasts, jam and butter and coffee. A good start for the day. The street has lots of restaurants nearby, however mainly local food. When we booked our stay, Tony contacted us and provided itinerary and cost for our four day stay. Though we never met him, he was very prompt in replying and had arranged everything including airport transfers, and an english speaking guide. Having the guide really helped us, as he took us to the right spots. Without the guide we would have wasted a lot of time in figuring out which buses to take and how to navigate. They also have a laundry machine, which can be used for 10 RMB per load. They should also provide a dryer as the drying place is a bit small.

Reviewed By marilynmodivaWithout a doubt, staying at Homeward Mountain was/is our favourite place to date - and we've stayed at many places so far during our travels! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty of the property, the splendor of the surrounding area and the exceptionally warm and welcoming service. The peacefulness of the place, the serenity and calmness of the mountains nearby was simply perfect. Our room was on the ground floor, so directly touching the lovely infinity-like pool, so we felt like we were a part of the water. The rooms were beautiful - the TOILET is the best in China! Warm seat and bidets, yes please! And we pampered ourselves by having a long, luxurious bath in the semi-outdoor bath one night too. It was my husband's 40th birthday on the second night we stayed there, and I had pre-organised a cake for him as a surprise. They went over and beyond what I was expecting, decorating the floor with fairy lights, playing Happy Birthday in the background, singing him a song, giving him a beautiful gift and a bouquet of flowers and especially making him a cake made out of fruit (because we are both vegan)! It was incredibly heartwarming and such an incredible gesture - we were both humbled and extremely grateful. Their restaurant up a little stone road (about a minute walk from the property) was just as beautiful as the hotel, and the food was delicious! Our favourite dish was the eggplant, so definitely get that if you're eating there. Also, the shuttle service is extremely helpful and useful, and we get a free one way shuttle to the railway station (an hour away), so that was a bonus! Any little thing we asked, they were happy to help and they were all so enthusiastic and friendly, we will miss staying there! We definitely will stay there again if we are ever in Zhangjiajie again. Not enough stars to give to this place! 5+++++ :) Also, there was a friendly, gorgeous golden retriever who quickly befriended us when we gave it some love.

Unlucky night : Power Failure and no Power Generator
Reviewed By m0njcThe room is good and clean. Toilet is good and quiet modern. Location is right in the middle of night life, so it's terribly noisy. Bed is hard as rock, just as other hotels in China. Unfortunately this small inn in city center has no power generator, meanwhile others have. So on that unlucky night, we had the light out from 12am and it was truly scary. Only accompanied by noise from outside of people laughing and house music. We stayed in 7th floor and the next morning we carried our luggage by ourselves and we decided to move to another hotel (apparently better, but with the same price). The trip in ZhangJiaJie was tiring and we needed proper resting, so we ended up sleepless and didn't fully charged our gadgets. The facilities are good, but just the basic emergency thing is not there.
