Peaceful room overlooking the Thames

Reviewed By wanderingways

We booked a courtyard room because we’re light sleepers and were concerned that rooms overlooking the river might be too noisy due to traffic from the street directly below. Upon check-in we received a complimentary upgrade to a large room (208?) on the top floor overlooking the river and were pleasantly surprised to find that the double-paned windows blocked any noise. Thank you The Relais,

The Cherry Tree Inn

Beautiful pub/inn/restaurant in Stoke Row, in the heart of the South Oxfordshire countryside in the Chiltern Hills. Elegant, chic design gives a warm, inviting feeling and the overall ethos of The Cherry Tree is one of comfort, enjoyment and relaxation. Food is key here with bi monthly menu changes of seasonal produce. Well kept beers, fantastic wines and great champagnes make this a place for a weekend away with a loved one, catch up with friends or equally happy catering for corporate groups. Likewise, it is a wonderful local pub in a beautiful Oxfordshire village. Four en-suite letting rooms in the barn are fresh, crisp, elegant and clean and most comfortable. Overall, a wonderful experience and not to be missed if in this part of the country. There is a definite air of class about this place and the London set flock to it in droves for a great country fix.

My favourite place to stay in Henley

Reviewed By kgK966GT

This was my 2nd stay at Greenlands and was not disappointed. The location is just perfect, on the banks of the River Thames in Henley. Its the most peaceful and beautiful of locations. On both occasions my room has been immaculate and spotlessly clean and comfortable. On my second visit I requested an upstairs room so I could have the window open at night because the room was very warm. There are fans in the rooms. The staff are very welcoming, helpful, cheery and friendly. The breakfast room overlooks the beautiful grounds and the river. I could sit there for hours watching the birds and boats go by. I shall be returning to the hotel again and I can highly recommend.

Wonderful welcome - great stay

Reviewed By Snufflehound

The team at The Baskerville are simply great. They have been trained to be both welcoming as well as offering excellent service. Just everything is right - really above average food, great wine list, great ambience, effortless service, lovely new outdoor space, happy team in the kitchen (singing chefs, who knew?) matched by light and clean bedrooms (best mattress I've slept on away from home in a long time). Nothing was too much trouble, even the team who looked after us after we had returned late night from a wedding!! Seriously highly recommended - and we are really fussy!

Unforgettable Accommodations

This bed and breakfast offers everything you are looking for. First, Natalie and Ray are very able and kind operators; they spare no effort to make guests feel welcome. The creative breakfast options offered are extraordinary, from the wonderful blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries to the free range egg dishes using eggs provided by the resident hens (embellished, e.g., with salmon if you prefer). A nearby attractive pub is a pleasant feature as well. The facility is impeccably clean and comfortable. The scenery from the property is memorable, and nearby is laced with walking trails and the historic “main road “ to Oxford winding through woods and fields.

Location is top notch… on the finish line for Henley Regatta… really easy stroll into Henley. We enjoyed an after dinner cocktail - I can highly recommend the White Espresso Martini! Breakfast was tasty.

Nice rooms but very noisy

Reviewed By stevemX2248EY

After initial good impression very disappointing. Although small, my room was to a good standard. Very contemporary and amenities good - coffee/tea making, iron and ironing board provided, and a small fridge with a couple of bottles of water. Check-in is easy peasie However my stay was spoilt by traffic noise virtually all night long, and bottle bins being filled by local restaurants first thing. Although secondary glazing has been installed, for some odd reason latches have been removed from original windows so they don’t close properly hence one can hear every noise outside, and totally ineffective in preventing heat loss. All easily remedied by spending a few quid in the local robert dyas. I ask myself if the owners have actually stayed overnight. The nearby Catherine Wheel charges about same and is probably worth considering as an alternative in this price bracket
