I didn’t absolutely love Fyri but did enjoy our stay. The quirks…like the constant Muzak does get a bit much… but, if you’re in a festive mood and don’t mind constant loud music, this is the place. The buffet breakfast has a fantastic and fresh selection. Dinners in the restaurant were also good (although it would be best to have more of a selection when staying several nights as it was the same for all four nights). The location is terrific and the shuttle stops right outside the door. Overall, it’s a bit of a scene…but still a nice place to stay when in Hemsedal.

Skarsnuten Hotel, at 1000 m.s.l, has a magnificent view to mighty mountain Hemsedal. Skarsnuten is a design hotel, where nature plays a prominent part of the architecture. Large glass surfaces virtually let nature right into the buildings. Extensive use of glass, stone and slated stone in the lobby, bar and restaurant, plus modern steel constructions, contributes to the typical Scandivian touch of this quite new hotel.
Spent some days during Christmas at Skarsnuten. COVID sets its restrictions which limits the experience to its full extent, but the team at the hotel makes the best of it. We booked a deluxe room with views of the valley. We got a nice room with a lovely view, but not much of the deluxe feeling. It’s mixing some levels to get to that. Anyways. A good stay with some nice dinners at the hotel resto. Will be back.

We have stayed at the apartments above the cafe, and we find that they are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. The skibus stops right outside the cafe, and at the end of the day skiing you just take the piste down. Check the cafe’s website on beforehand for parties and avoid rhem as they can be noisy ?

Hemsetunet Apartments are located right in the center within walking distance of many attractions. Enjoy large and nice apartments where you can light the fireplace and have a great time with your loved ones. We provide fully furnished, cozy, affordable apartments ranging from two bedroom to as large as four bedrooms with loft. You can rely on us to find you a perfect place to call home during your stay in the Scandinavian Alps. Our goal is to provide you with an unforgettable living experience in one of the best ski centers in whole Norway. In the same building as the apartments, you can find Ravn, Kjøkken Kroken Restaurant, Kroken Bar & Bistro, and Tunet Sport which is a ski rental.
We stayed in apartment 3 - 6beds, however only two bed rooms. Last bed is in a open space on the loft. A small kitchen area and living room gives a practical apartment. No luxury, but you have the most essentials covered. The bed are not very comfortable, hard edges. The Sauna was also at loft. We didnt test it. You may hire bed linen and towels for an extra fee. Cleaning is also an extra fee. The location is in the city center of Hemsedal and close to supermarket, bar and restaurants. Recommend Hemsedal cafe and the tapas bar at Skogstad Hotel. It is a free bus going every 20min to the ski slopes. If you bring a car it is parking lot outside the apartment.

What a sad place!this place is an orgy of inexpensive materials and bad floor plans. It’s not old, but really run down. I you like sleeping in beds with plastic covers, dust, dirt and old uncomfortable furnitures this is the place for you. The view is ruined by the feeling that this was built only to make fast profit. Sad, sad, sad.

The Dyrja dome is a 23 square meter luxury tent that accommodates up to 4 people. One king size bed and a pull out couch, both directed to a stunning view over the marsh landskape and mountains. There is an eco friendly toilet added to the tent and a multifuel oven that keeps you warm in the nights and wintertime.

Hospitality since 1905, Skogstad Hotel is a historic hotel in the heart of the center of Hemsedal. The hotel has long traditions and culture, with history and the atmosphere in the walls. The hotel has in recent years undergone a renovation process, since a couple of years back we now have ski-in with the new ski slope going from the ski center. The story of Skogstad Hotel began in 1905 as a combination of farm, general store, inn and guest house. There were animals like chickens and pigs that put eggs and bacon on the table at the time, and farm operations were underway throughout the year. Then as now, Hemsedal was a stopover between the east and west, and the guest house was open only in summer and in Easter week. In 1961, the first ski trail in Hemsedal village was made by volunteers. That's when tourism to the village began to rise. The pension began to take in winter visitors, it was built on and Skogstad finally got hotel status in 1964. The hotel has adapted to the flow of tourists and currently has facilities to satisfy the most. The hotel is today still a family hotel run by the fifth generation. The staff at the hotel has taken care of the homely and informal atmosphere of the transport station time.
Room was nice and clean, breakfast was good, nice staff. Could get a drink and a pizza downstairs. Parking is available but gets very full at the weekend. Had a sauna but need to book in advance due to covid.

Lovely views across valley. They gave us a disabled room which we did not need which meant the toilet was way too high! 2 single beds joined together but were very seperate. So not romantic. And windows up the top not curtained which meant it never got dark in the room. Also no tea making in the room and no fridge. There is a free mineral museum near by which is nice to go to. And breakfast was satisfactory.
