This is a very basic hotel, with small rooms and few amenities, but it is clean and new and very moderately priced. It is noisy (close to a highway and very thin walls) but not too bad. I would have rated it a three except for two things - 1 - breakfast is supposed to start at 7:00. I needed to be on my way early so wanted breakfast as close to 7:00 as possible. Both mornings the door to the breakfast room was locked and no one was there. One morning the woman running the breakfast room arrived around 7:15 so I was able to get a quick breakfast. The other day I didn't bother to wait. 2 - no hot water two consecutive nights. I can live with a lot of inconveniences, but when I want to take a shower after working all day I want hot water. Once is a nuisance. Twice makes my review a one star.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night for our anniversary. It had some great points, and a lot of potential, however there were so many things that let it down, thus the average rating. It is a fairly new place, located not to far from the Medellin airport in a lovely green hilly area. We paid 400,000 pesos for the night. I really hope the managers take notice of the points raised, as this could be a great place. The service was just too bad though to rate higher. The good; The hotel is situated in a beautiful area, with lovely green hills, lots of bird life and tranquillity. Really nice. The bubble hotel is a good concept, and quite different to experience. We asked for anniversary decoration, and they did a fantastic job at this; I was very happy with the end result. You can bring your food and drink it you desire. We ordered meats, sausages, chicharron via the hotel, and they arrived in decent portions for us to cook. They also sent down plenty of spices, sauces etc to utilise. The BBQ was very good, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. You can bring your own if you want. The Negative / Or needs Improvement The service is TERRIBLE. The rooms are located at the bottom of a long hill (147 steps), and the owners pretty much stay in their house. They use a system of WhatsApp to communicate, however - we were given two numbers, and you never know which one to contact. Often both would go unanswered for considerable periods of time. Other times you would be communicating, and then the messaging would just stop. After a long wait, try the next number and they would answer. A pretty crazy system. We asked for water on arrival. It came THREE HOURS LATER!!! After an hour and a half, I walked up the steps to the house to ask for it. I was told there was none available; that they had sent their employee into their bodega to fetch some..... (there are shops about a 10 minute drive away). They said don't worry, it will come soon. 1 hour later I messaged them again - no answer - finally over three hours later we received 2 bottles of water. The bubble tent. The concept is good however, they are very basic ones. You first enter an initial dome, which immediately collapses, to get in, do it up, and then open the second zip to the main room. It would be so easy to put up a simple support structure so the whole dome doesn't collapse on top of you - and would cost hardly anything. Most of the slider pull on the zippers were broken. This made it very difficult to open, especially when the dome collapses. I asked for some string to tie on to assist - this came three hours later with the water (I had made one out of grass by that time). The bathroom is open plan - it can zip up, however you will be watching your partner do their business, if in the room. There was no hot water, and it is very cold in the morning. This is not a backpacker hostel, and hot water is expected. The motor that provides the air to fill the domes is very very noisy - I am not sure exactly what can be done, however some sort of sandbagging would at least muffle the noise. Our table was literally falling apart, made out of chip-wood, in an area that rains a lot. The Jacuzzi. I loved the concept, however my wife refused to enter as she though the water was dirty. We had asked the first staff member if the water was new, and he said yes. She was very doubtful, so asked the next guy who came (three hours later) - he said they only change it every second visit. That is gross - I can just imagine people peeing, making love and who knows what else in that hot tub. I then got out and didn't go back in. It is not much water - not changing it after each visit is just unhygienic. The Bed. It is small, not too bad, however we also had doubts that the sheets were changed. They had stains, and the pillows smelled of different perfumes. The bill. For our food etc, when I asked for the bill, it equated to an amount that was 25% more. When I said that sounds expensive and went through it item by item, it reduced by 25%. That is just not acceptable. So, in the end, I really liked the area, and it was a good experience, however for the money paid, the service and places was just not up to standard at all. I really hope they can improve. One other thing, all the other reviews in Spanish are 1 time reviewers and I suspect that they are not real.

Fantastic boutique hotel, recently renovated, located at the entrance of Guarne, 20 minutes from Medellin and 15 minutes from the Jose Maria Cordova International Airport. We have 15 rooms, restaurant, free private parking, WiFi connection in all areas of the hotel. Its design is like a Swiss chalet, with modern decoration and an internal garden perfect for resting, reading and holding events.
We have just completed a trip to Colombia. We stayed in the above hotel on two occasions ,when we arrived and departed Colombia. The hotel was very clean and was run super efficiently by Roberto and his wife. It has a lovely atmosphere and is also in a super location. We will be staying there again on our next trip to Colombia.

I stayed at this lovely finca 3 times during my 5-week stay in Colombia. It’s so close to the Medellin airport in Rio Negro and the perfect spot to enjoy breathtaking Mountain views, gorgeous gardens and tons of hummingbirds and other birds. Regina and Donny are warm and friendly hosts. They arranged for a spa day onsite for me and my friend as well as horseback riding around the area. The property has fabulous hiking trails, a pool and soccer and tennis/volleyball courts. We were able to explore El Ceja, Guatape, El Pinol, Parque Arvi, Santa Elena and El Retiro while staying at this beautiful finca hotel. I will definitely start and end future visits to Medellin in this tranquil setting.
