Located on the breathtaking campus of Colorado Mesa University, Hotel Maverick is a scenic destination that fosters the spirit of curiosity. Built against Grand Junction's sprawling red rock canyons, this unique Colorado locale immerses guests in experiences that feed their wanderlust, offering an enriching stay just minutes away from all things CMU.
My husband and I had a wonderful stay here! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff are extremely courteous. We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Colorado National Monument and Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. The Hotel Maverick is located on the CMU campus. The area is safe and quiet with lots of parking. The hotel itself is clean and modern in decor. They have a cute little cafe on the first floor if you're wanting a quick breakfast and coffee on the go. They also have a nice upscale restaurant/bar, Devil's Kitchen, located on the top floor. Some nice perks of the hotel include free parking, free wifi that was fast, and complimentary coffee at their cafe in the main lobby. Our room was nice and spacious. We found a welcome note with some chocolate, which was very thoughtful of the hotel. My husband and I were also very impressed with how the room was spotless. The king bed and pillows were really comfy. It was almost hard to get up every morning. The bathroom was clean with plenty counter space. In addition, the room has a mini fridge, safe, TV, and desk. The only thing the room did not have was a microwave; however, there is a microwave in the vending machine room located on each floor. The service here was phenomenal. From the moment we checked in to when we checked out, the staff have been very friendly and approachable. On the day we checked in, I received a text from the hotel letting us know to text them if we need anything. Since I'm pregnant, we requested two extra pillows for me. The staff were happy to help and promptly brought up pillows to our room. Also note that they are following Covid guidelines with housekeeping not entering your room during your entire stay. If you want to get new towels or need your room to be cleaned, the staff are easily reachable to arrange for housekeeping to stop by. The only thing we suggest is that since we stayed for a few nights, we had trash building up in our room. Thankfully, we ran into housekeeping on one of the days we got back to our room early in the day. They were happy to help take out trash for us. Having a larger trash can in the room for both recyclables and trash and even one on each floor would help a lot and lessen the burden on housekeeping to take our trash from our room. Overall, this Hotel Maverick is a great hotel choice while visiting Grand Junction. We will be sure to stay here again the next time we're in town. I definitely recommend!!!

The tub had long black hair in it and under the soap holder was caked soap and goo. We pull back the bed covers and find more long black hair. Listened to loud thumping noise continuously, sounded like a washing machine all night. House man did come change the sheets. I don’t think room was cleaned after prior guest, they made the bed and added clean towels and toiletries. Added two Diet Cokes to our bill, they froze solid in room refrigerator. Hotel response was I’m sorry, grab 2 cokes and I’ll take off your $11 parking fee. I would hope this is an anomaly for Hilton as this has not been our experience in the past. We’re out for about 6 weeks traveling cross country, this stay was not like our other Hampton experiences.

we are driving cross country with our dogs and this is one of the only promising hotel we saw that could house them. everything was going fine until around 11pm when a bunch of ehat looks to be 19 year olds started to play loud music and we being roudy. The patio part of this hotel is suppose to close at midnight might i add. This has not stopped and at this moment its 2:33 am weve gotten no sleep and the front desk is doing nothing about it. We called they said sorry but they cant do anything. an hour later we call again and they just put us on hold. We are definitely not happy with this place, their service, and what they allow to go on in the hotel. They let these people party four almost five hours and the rest of the hotel has to hear it and dont get what they payed for… sleep. We are contemplating weather or not to just leave and start our drive. This is ridiculous.

We stayed here on our road trip from Salt Lake City to Atlanta. The beds are comfortable, the room is clean and the service is good. Breakfast was adequate, a bit more pre-fab than I would like but the pre-fab brands they used were not bad options. Also it's in a great location right in the middle of lovely downtown area. All in all I would definitely stay here again.

I have LOVED this hotel! Many fond memories from at least 7 stays over 15 years traveling from the East. I won’t return for another visit. I didn’t want to score them low here but after a stay May 17 and again May 25, my positive self became fed up. What did NOT annoy me were the following: elevators not working & either walking to my floor or waiting for maintenance to operate it; light bulb out in room; heavy fire doors to push open to get to rooms because they were not staying closed due to a maintenance issue; hot tub same temperature as the pool. I understand that hotels have maintenance issues. I’m pretty lenient being a Diamond member, right? What pushed me over the edge: Before going to hot tub, asking front desk if it was open & being told yes. Arriving to find a couple there who were very angry that it was not hot. They’d already complained so staff must’ve known about it before sending us to the tub. On the way back to my room, I saw several managers having a discussion in the hall and told them of the situation - that I loved the hotel and to please tell the front desk not to send people to a cold hot tub. I was thanked for letting them know - but when I returned a week later, the tub was still cold. If it’s not working, front desk should just say so BEFORE guests go there attired to soak. Next: Front desk telling me they do not shuttle guests AT ALL anymore to Amtrak - only to the airport. Next day, a shuttle driver tells me they shuttle to Amtrak regularly and made an appointment for my ride. I let the front desk know about this and was told well…..we only shuttle there if we have enough drivers. But I’d already been told there was no shuttle EVER to Amtrak any longer. Next: May 17 I was not charged to park. Nothing was said about it being complimentary for Diamond people but I was thinking that was the case. May 25 I checked it again and this time given a blue card to place in my windshield for Diamond members and was told word for word “parking is complimentary for Diamond members”. I said I had returned my car to the airport and had no car to park that night. My invoice later showed I was charged for parking! I called back and was told it would be removed from my bill. Three days later I called again since it hadn’t happened. This time a lady told me that ALL guests pay to park and that Diamond members get the blue card for their car only to give them permission to park in a special area. What??? Good heaven above managers….get your front desk folks on the same page with the same info. I still don’t know if I was credited for the night I had no car parked. Like the song lyrics….”say something, I’m breaking up with you”.

The hotel is what you pay for. A clean, low key hotel room with a bed and shower. Not sure what else my son and I needed. Don’t expect a fancy breakfast in the AM. The money you save can be used to walk over to village inn just a short walk away. Of note, we had a 2 bed room. The beds are doubles, not queen size. So if you have more than 2 people, it may be a tight fit. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
