Home to the University of Florida, the largest and oldest university in the state, as well as the Santa Fe Community College, Gainesville is a hub of education and culture. Perhaps due to its strong student population, the city is also at the heart of independent music in Florida, having produced numerous musical acts from a variety of genres. The natural surroundings, including parks, lakes and the adjacent Paynes Prairie State Reserve provide a green getaway from the bustle of city life.

We were in Gainesville for UF Preview and were not disappointed at all with our choice to stay here! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I love the complimentary valet and system of texting to retrieve your car. All very seamless. The room was very clean and very comfortable. I loved the layout and the huge windows of natural light. The bathroom was simply elegant with great products. And the Nepresso machine coffee made for a great start to my day. We will happily return!!

AC didn’t work. Leaked all over the carpet. When I reported it no one did anything. Ended up being moved the next day after another complaint. Terrible experience. In a decent location which helped but would of spent more money for less problems.

When I arrived I asked for a room that did not face the highway and was away from the elevator and they assigned me Room 110. I am a light sleeper and hear everything. Last night I got a super sound sleep with no noise at all. The room was clean, lots of room and a Keurig was available with coffee, decaf and tea. I also felt safe as I was traveling solo.

Gainesville Hotel Location Directly Across the Street from the University of Florida. The Holiday Inn Gainesville - University Ctr. hotel is surrounded by local shops, restaurants, boutiques and the University of Florida. The hotel sits in the heart of Gainesville, allowing easy access to downtown Gainesville, Gainesville Regional Airport and is directly across the street from The University of Florida and its athletic facilities. Hotel guests visiting Gainesville for Gators sporting events are happy to find Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (The Swamp) just blocks from the hotel's location. While in Gainesville FL, patrons don't want to miss on-campus highlights like the Harn Museum of Art and Florida Museum of Natural History, either. The hotel's corporate guests also find the hotel well suited for business. Free Wi-Fi access is offered throughout the facility.
Across street from campus and ability to walk to events there and not deal with any traffic and parking is major plus. The interiors are in need of refurbishing, especially the bathrooms, but at least the bed linens and room carpet were in good shape. Upstairs breakfast restaurant is still not open ....but at least Starbucks and publix are practically right next door . The downstairs pizza restaurant is open and decent enough for an onsite lunch or dinner.

DoubleTree by Hilton in Gainesville was a clean, comfortable stay with a very nice pool, beautiful lobby, etc. Definitely a great bang for your buck! The highlight of our stay, however, was Natashua at the front desk! She was welcoming, kind, and full of awesome recommendations! She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. Thank you, Natashua!

Located right off I-75, the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Gainesville, FL is ideally situated for exploring central Florida. We are less than 10 minutes from the beautiful campus of the University of Florida and the impressive Kanapaha Botanical Gardens.
Great room, great coffee & cookies 24/7, disappointed no hot breakfast. Microwave bagel sandwiches, a hot waffle you have to make but would prefer eggs, sausage/bacon or sausage gravy & biscuits. Less sugary items, more protein options
