Made to feel extremely welcome before even sat down. Food was very good value and delicious. Polly Dog also made to feel welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Proper local fresh food and generous portions. The egg yolks were orange the vegetarian option I had was an unusual but inspired idea. Fried potatoes topped with garlic mushrooms then frined egg topped with swiss cheese & generous side salad

A friendly Country Inn at the heart of a rural village, serving freshly sourced food. Selection of real ales, craft beers, fine whiskeys & wines. Five en-suite guest rooms. Boasting a large dog friendly garden over looking Damerham Cricket Pitch.
Saw this on TripAdvisor so we thought we would give it a go. Staff friendly. Look a nice restaurant and menu. But my husband had the fish pie. I had fish cakes as a main . Not good. Was ment to come with a salad but it came with what I think was beetroot. Not good especially for the price. Had a side order of chips. Over cooked and hard. Will not return.

Surrounded by the outstanding natural beauty of the New Forest National Park, Sandy Balls unites an enviable location with an excellent choice of facilities. The perfect getaway for families, couples or groups of friends in this wonderful, unique area of England. You’ll find something for everyone on the park, with resident alpacas, indoor and outdoor pools, a gym, a spa and a wealth of activities including a bush-craft school and Nerf Challenge. The New Forest begs exploration, bursting with wildlife, fantastic walks, cycle tracks and visitor centres. Watching wild ponies roaming across the heathland offers an unmissable treat to any visitor. A host of picturesque towns and villages await on the doorstep, whilst Bournemouth and Poole are nearby.
We visited Sandy Balls over the bank holiday jubilee weekend. At check in we were turned away as due to staff shortages our accommodation was not ready. There was no where to park and so we had to leave the site and wait for a call alerting us as to when our accommodation would be ready. This call never came - but eventually we checked in late. The lodge had literally just been cleaned - and although it was clean - the floors were sopping wet and it was hard to move about. The outside of the lodge was very shabby, paint peeling off and cobwebs everywhere. The BBQ was filthy and we could not use the outside table and chairs as they were so dirty. Towels and wi-fi were not included - which we were not aware of. There was no view to enjoy - just other lodges or the path - not good. During our stay - we had a good meal at Aubreys restaurant but other than this - the service and the facilities were terrible. The tables and chairs in the main woodside inn area were filthy and nothing was cleaned or wiped down during our stay - so it was hard to enjoy the entertainment. There were very drunk people on site - shaving at restaurant tables and seemingly no staff available to deal with this kind of thing. To top it all off - when leaving we handed back our padlocks into the swimming area to get our deposits back only to be told that sorry - we don't have the key to the safe. It was only £4 but still - no one able to solve a problem and no one willing to put the customer first. So disappointed by the service and the experience.

Farmhouse B&B set in the peaceful village of Sandleheath. Quiet, rural location on working family farm. Double and twin en-suite accommodation. Large selection of breakfast available. Ideally located for New Forest, Salisbury + Bournemouth.
This was a one night stay, on the way down down to Cornwall for Easter. Janet was excellent from the word go. Very welcoming, friendly, and interactive. I'd been up since 04:30am, and travelled straight after work. So I was focused on a cuppa, and a nice comfy bed. Our room was clean, quiet, and cosy. Morning saw us very well looked after, with an impressive breakfast, to keep one going for the day. Many thanks for the quality hospitality.

The Railway Hotel is a boutique hotel, restaurant and bar located in the town of Fordingbridge, in the New Forest, Hampshire. The Railway Hotel re-opened in October 2020 having been lovingly restored to its elegant Victorian form celebrating the golden age of the railway. We have five distinctive en-suite rooms, and a self-contained two-bedroom cottage set around a characterful courtyard that still features the original livery stables. Guests and visitors can enjoy contemporary British cuisine in our restaurant where our chefs use fresh, seasonal produce supplied by local farmers and growers.
Well worth a visit! Stayed here 2 nights (Flying Scotsman rooms)- excellent attention to detail, comfortable, spotless - what’s not to like? Great breakfast. Ate in restaurant one night- superb cooking. Clearly going the extra mile! Staff both friendly and efficient - can’t fault it, so highly recommended.

Luxury B&B within the New Forest. Legendary breakfast menu. Very quiet and peaceful location, positioned at the end of a quiet, private lane. Fantastic forest views from garden. Walking distance of the local village pub.
Wonderful B and B. Sue is a brilliant host, nothing too much trouble. The rooms are spotless, the breakfasts to die for, all beyond our expectation. We had breakfast in the garden, with the most fabulous views from the patio. Thank you Sue.

We stayed 2 nights prior to a cruise we were going on. It's a beautiful house set in lovely grounds. We were met by Al and shown to our room, it was huge and everything we needed was there, after a chat we went for a look around the area which is truly spectacular. I met Si the next morning at breakfast which was very tasty. Think we could have talked for hours about motorbikes and paintings, he is a fine artist by the way. It's in an ideal spot to walk into the nearest village and we had a nice meal in the Italian there. So a delightful couple who own the property and we would recommend it to anyone in the area.
