La facha hostel offers you a place of relaxation and 100% surfing, surrounded by nature, sea, beach and one of the best left waves in Ecuador, home to surfers, tourists and travelers from around the world. With its mixed construction of wood, bamboo and cement, it creates a perfect atmosphere within the paradisiacal beach of Mompiche. We have private and shared rooms, hot water, magnetic security and video surveillance, plus our Bar and fusion cuisine restaurant run by our chef and owner Tito Calle, recognized by lonely planet as the best restaurant in Mompiche, creating fusions and flavors of national and international cuisine, also our famous meat or quinoa burgers and pizzas of the house, always with the freshest ingredients. We create a perfect combination for a perfect stay
As reviewers "cl forever" and "briffaman" imply, sleep at La Facha should not be high on your priority list! We got very little since our room also looked over the very loud party room (most do), without a closable window and the party went until about 2:30 am... not so pleasant for us. I have to say though, the music was good :-) In the morning when we couldn't sleep through the heat any longer we packed up and let Tito know we were not his type of customer. He was very nice, ageed with us, and suggested some other places. As we were leaving, another couple with kids looked pretty grim as they and their sleep deprived children stumbled down the 3 flights of stairs from their "view" room. I took the opportunity to look at the view from their room - it was a thin sliver of beach visible between the motels that sit in front of La Facha, a second row location. I'll add a little to "cl forevers" maintenance comment... bugs. Yep, little bitty ones, with big bites! They were living behind the shelves and visited our bed while we slept, raising dozens of big itchy welts on us both by the time we awoke. We are both accustomed to bug problems when we do extended wilderness hiking and river trips, but I have to say have never worried about them in a rented room! So, you party folks, this might be your place! You might want to visit though before you book?

Rustic cabin atmosphere like camping out. Terrible bed, loud air conditioner which my husband insisted on having. I would have preferred just having the window open since nice ocean breeze. Beach access perfect, clean and not many people on the beach. Disappointed in the restaurant that did not open until 6p for dinner, no lunch dinning we always ate some where else. Breakfast not served until 8a and no coffee before! We ended up having coffee earlier at the hotel next door that were accommodating for early coffee. We had breakfast one morning at Isa del Sol and it was ok very typical. Friends stayed at the hotel next door that was less expensive and had a beautiful pool and patio area.

Esmeraldas was not the best beach town to spend a night in, but the Hotel Perla Verde was a bit of an oasis. Clean, modern room with a comfortable bed. Lot's of hot water in the shower. If I had another connection in Esmeraldas this would be a good choice for the night.

Hostal Oleaje pone a su disposición habitaciones matrimoniales y apartamentos ubicados frente a la playa. También tenemos restaurante con comida muy rica.
A great place to stay! At the edge of village, the hostal is right next to sea – but the village is so small that you can easily walk everywhere. In low tide you can walk on the beach, and on high tide which happens to be at night the sea rolls is and you can sleep listening to it. You can also swim during the high tide right next to the hostal (in other places sea rolls right up to malecon). The room I had was on the upper floor, spacious, with sea view. The bed was comfortable, the shower warm. The breakfast was lovely, now I know what good bolones de verde should taste like. Totally recommended!

With unparalleled natural beauty, surrounded by tropical rainforests and hundreds of kilometers of beaches, and a privileged climate with a year-round temperature of 28°C, this destination is an excellent option for practicing different water sports. El This Hotel has a modern tropical design that blends in with the area’s natural surroundings, 282 rooms, 3 specialized restaurants and 1 buffet, 6 bars, a disco, 5 pools and a convention center for 600 people, with cutting edge technology and a Business Center. The resort itself is beautiful. Food is ok. Drinks not that great. The days we visited we couldn’t enjoy the beach because of the weather but that is just Mother Nature. We settled for the pools which are nice. I have visited plenty of all inclusive resorts around the world and kind of know what to expect. Unfortunately, I was unpleasantly surprised with this one. Usually, after a long trip even though check in is at 3:00pm in my other experiences they let you in the lobby. Other resorts make you feel welcome from the beginning. They let you relax and serve you drinks until your room is ready. Not this one! We arrived around 1:30pm after a long drive (7 hours) with a group of 15 including my 85 year old mother at the gate they told us we had to wait outside until 2:30pm. Why ??? I don’t get it. They should at least make you wait at the lobby. One good thing I do have to mention is that they did give me a ground floor for my mom upon request. Because this resort has a lot of stairs if you are on one of the top floors be prepare to do a lot of up and down stairs. The rooms were nice big and clean. The food was standard resort food. Since we were a big group it was hard trying to make reservations for the specialty restaurants. We had to split our group. We ate at the Acantilado. Seafood was good. Now the drinks need a lot of improvement. Resorts in general serve the cheapest liquor but usually have the local beer which I was looking forward to. NO PILSENER OR CLUB what a disappointment. My family and I are Ecuadorean and we speak Spanish so we can communicate with the staff. International resorts usually have bilingual staff. Honestly, Besides the manager I don’t know if anyone else speak another language. Overall it was a 50/50 experience. Like I said before the location and facilities itself are superb, food is as expected. Drinks need a lot of improvement, customer service was standard. Definitely not 5 stars. I’ll give it 3.

Hotel Puerto Ballesta is a great hotel in Tonsupa that has a pool and it’s own private beach in Tonsupa. The food is great in the hotel and is located directly on the beach. Definitely a great place to stay when in Tensula…………………………………………………..

The Hotel Cielo Azul (Blue Sky) is owned and managed by a German Ecuadorian family. It's especially suited for couples or families who want to experience one of the most beautiful beaches of Ecuador. The Hotel Cielo Azul is located 100% right at the beach
After a few years of non-stop work, I needed some days off in a different environment, and what I wanted was a comfort, paradise-look hotel close to everything so I don't have to move a lot, and that's exactly what this hotel can offer to you, and believe me when I say the hotel surpassed our expectations, and is quiet if you consider is so close to clubs! (except for some guests that arrived during our last stay who were a terrible example of how a civilized person should behave and treat their kids, but the staff made sure to control the situation to not disturb the other guests) The staff, rooms, location, even the beach, everything was just perfect. A special thanks to Ketty, the very first person in receiving us, as she was extremely friendly, a lovely staff member, and overall, she will guarantee that ALL guests will be treated equally and fair. If you want a hotel where you want to feel like home, with the beach at a few steps (literally at the back entrance of the hotel), and close to all the fun, with the guarantee the hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, and you'll feel respected, this is your place. Thank you Cielo Azul for making our very first visit to Atacames an experience we will never forget! <3
