Due to medical issues, I had to shorten my holiday and organise a taxi to repatriate me back home. I inquired with the receptionist to organise a late check out so that I could lay down in my room for an extra 2 hours while waiting for the car to arrive. I was told harshly that I should vacate the room at noon sharp and rest next to the pool as it was not possible to keep my room longer, even by paying a supplement . As I had trouble breathing and needed to be plugged to my hydrogen device as long as possible before the car drive, I explained several time that I was really unwell and that I needed to lay down. After a lot of unpleasant and unnecessary comments mocking my health condition while I was resting on my bed with the breathing tube in my nose, I was transferred to a adjacent room by two persons from the reception. I was brought the card reader next to my bed so that I could pay the full price for an extra night. I still don’t understand how people working in hospitalities could behave in such a shocking way when someone is clearly unwell. The hotel being only half full, it would have been easy to find a good solution that worked for everyone. My taxi arrived as scheduled at 1.20pm and I left feeling bruised and extremely unsettled by the treatment I received. I wish I had been well enough to defend myself when harassed but unfortunately I was too tired to fight back.

Great hotel with wonderful service. We loved it. Big plus for the spa and the dog friendliness. We stayed in one of the rooms with patio and had a nice relaxation opportunity in our own small garden. Very convenient when travelling with a dog.

Went here and was offered plat du hour and only that, as kitchen was closing. Advertised as 15,50 euros for 2 courses but once captured we were offered a dessert menu which after choosing and eating said dessert it appeared it wasn’t included in the offer and we paid 8 euros for 2 small scoops of ice cream. Beware!

Big, old, charming mansion/chateau, completely redone inside. Beautiful rooms with high ceilings (something that I personally appreciate a lot), beautiful bathroom with new fixtures. Very clean and airy and spacious! All the needed toiletries provided, including slippers. Breakfast was also great, on the terrace. Christine, the owner, was lovely and helpful! Made us feel very welcome! Would definitely come back!! Thank you!!!

Liked: Lovely characterful hotel tucked away on the mountainside above Embrun. We really liked the interior style and the warm atmosphere. Facilities were clean, modern and well-maintained. Quality towels and toiletries. Disliked: We booked a triple room with a balcony and a view - this was stated explicitly on our Booking.com confirmation email. However, when we arrived, what we two communicating double rooms (very small), but *no* balcony and *no* view - all you could see out of the window was a tree. Maybe a mistake or maybe they double booked - we arrived late and were too tired to complain. But it was disappointing - not much point driving up the mountainside if you don't get the view.

I got to the Hotel quite late at night but that wasn't an issue, i could choose between few rooms, with different size beds; I picked a queen-bed one, which fitted a soft but supportive mattress, which did the trick to my back(after 800+ km bike ride from La Rochelle the previous day). The room I chose was not en-suite, but the bathroom was very clean and tidy, a very efficient shower and an abundant (French style) breakfast was provided in the morning for a small extra. I will definitely go back.

Camping LES GRILLONS is located in the town of Embrun, which borders Lake SERRE PONCON in the Hautes- Alpes (05, FRENCH ALPS), situated in the PACA ( Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur ) region in the south of France. Our family campsite is a quiet and relaxing green space. You can enjoy heated pools to relax, while the kids can play table football, table tennis or have fun in one of the campsite playgrounds. Numerous services make it a quiet and relaxing place. Enjoying 300 days of sunshine a year, the SERRE PONCON area in the Hautes- Alpes combines the Mediterranean climate and the mountain climate. The campsite offers clean air and nature. At the gates of the Ecrins National Parc and the Queyras Regional Parc, our camping is like the area, very kind and close to nature. Close to Embrun, historical town, between Gap and Briancon, camping LES GRILLONS waiting for you to make you spend nice hollidays.
Just had a lovely stay at the campsite for a week, our third visit which has sadly been somewhat cut short due to UK quarantine restrictions. It’s a really lovely charming traditional campsite, with a nice pool, area to play bowls, and some local vendors that visit in the evenings to sell paella pizza et cetera. The most convenient thing for ourselves is that you can walk down the field at the back of the campsite, along a path which gets you to the back of the supermarket or into Embrun lake area and it’s only a kilometres walk. It’s a safe walk just ensure that you’re wearing adequate footwear. Embrun is a delightful town, with great cycling and also a wonderful long distance triathlon during the summer.
