Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir is family running hotel on the lakeside, all 50 rooms have private bathroom, tv, coffee te maker, hairdryer and iron. The Hotel have restaurant and it is open from 11.30 To 22. In the Hotel is also spa.
Loved everything about this hotel, including the staff. Some of the reviews are made almost convinced us to book elsewhere and we were glad we didn’t. Cute, well-maintained place. Helpful staff. Big rooms. Gorgeous grounds. Only complaints is that we felt spa access shouldn’t cost extra for guests. Highly recommend! Dinner: LOVED the 5 course tasting menu! The lamb was the best we’ve had in Iceland so far. Really enjoyed the duck and the lobster and the salmon courses. And the “dessert feast” was a decadent treat! Breakfast: similar offerings to most hotels, but the eggs were cooked better here than anywhere else so far and the blueberry muffins were great. The coffee was a step up from some other places as well.

Located on the east coast of Iceland, Faskruðsfjorður is celebrated for its majestic nature and beautiful scenery. Fosshotel Eastfjords operates in 4 historic buildings previously made for French fishermen in the years between 1898-1907. The most famous of them is the French hospital built in 1903. In 1939, the house was disassembled, moved and it became deserted for almost 50 years. In 2008, a decision was made to reassemble it at its original location. The hospital has 13 rooms of the total 47 rooms at the hotel. The Doctor's house, located across from the French hospital, hosts the reception and the Chapel, built in 1898, is beside the reception hosting 4 rooms.
Very comfortable and good-size room in a historical building. Staff very responsive and helpful.Very large and nice international Breakfast. Perfect location to explore spots around the east fjords. Highly reccomanded

Fosshotel Vatnajokull is 3 star hotel with a restaurant & bar offering a panoramic view of Vatnajokull glacier. All guestrooms and restaurant/bar facilities are non-smoking.
Me and my group (5 total) stayed here for one night during our South Coast Tour. The staff was excellent. Check-in was a breeze. Food was decent. Bed was not the most comfortable, but we all got some rest and was ready for our next day of travel.

Smyrlabjörg is family owned country hotel between Jökulsárlón and Höfn. We offer 52 rooms all with private bathroom. Triple rooms and family rooms are also available as double and single rooms. Meals are available for guests in our restaurant; in summer time we offer a dinner buffet and a menu. In low season we only offer menu. On the menu we use local products from our local farmers, and all fish and lobster we buy in Höfn. We really hope you will enjoy your stay.
I was on a 2-day tour and this was our stop. The room was good size but the shower was very small. Common areas could use an update. You are just sleeping there so it was adequate for that. Nice and quiet due to the remote location.

This is our second stay here. From the moment we checked in with Kevin (from Spain, curly blond hair, cute), great drinks at the bar and helpful staff it was just great! Kevin helped us with reservation to the nearby restaurant, looking up weather and even researching whale watching tours for me. Everything was just perfect

Hotel Framtid is centrally located right by the harbor and is a small walk to the local grocery store and post office, as well as some gift shops. Rooms are moderately sized but on par with Iceland standard. Bed, desk, hot water pot, and bathroom. WiFi moderately fast. Dinner (fresh salmon) was excellent and the breakfast was cold continental of a reasonable quality. The only 'weird' thing is the hallway. It is kept completely dark until a sensor detects some motion. So if you open the door, it is to a pitch black hall until you step out.

A Charming Guesthouse located right by the harbor in Höfn, a fishing village on the south eastern coast of Iceland. Höfn is at the roots of Vatnajökill, the largest glacier in Europe.
We stayed twice at Guesthouse Dyngja which is situated right at the harbour. It is nice and clean with cooking facilities, free coffee, muesli and youghurt anr good beds. The host is so friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

We wish you to join us, relax, enjoy the remote location, and treat yourself to the renowned breakfast and local meals. For 40 years Berunes has been a tranquil destination for travellers, looking for authentic experience.
We stayed in one of the cottages with a view directly to the fjord. The cottage had a small kitchenette, and there is a larger, group kitchen nearby. We did our laundry here, hanging it up to dry in a drying shed. (There's also a dryer available I think, if you need it.) If you're up for it, hike up the hillside/mountain behind (yellow trail). It's a bit of a steep climb, but the view is amazing. I think you could walk forever. If you're here in late August, there are wild blueberries up there. We stayed 2 nights, and it was a great place to relax and take a breath on our ring road trip.

Lilja Guesthouse is located in south east region of Iceland, just between Glacier lagoon and Hofn. Lilja Guesthouse offer 26 rooms with private bathrooms.
We stayed only one night at Lilja but wish we were there longer. The glacier view room was superb. Lovely spread for breakfast. I was just disappointed we we had to rush to catch the flight as we couldn’t enjoy the day in the hotel fully.
