Certainly the best hotel on the island but be aware there is absolutely nothing to do on the island. If you want a boat trip you have to drive off the island and head south, so why stay on Don Khong island? In itself the hotel is not that great as a resort. We choose not to eat in the hotel and reasonable food can be found at one of the several restaurants just along the road as you turn left out of the hotel. The place we ate at had a menu in English with photos and the waiter spoke English. As you can imagine the food was significantly cheaper than in the hotel. Breakfast was weak but in the time of Covid you have to lower your expectations. The rooms are ridiculously huge. The bed mattresses are very soft, if you like that then enjoy. I could only stand one night of sinking without trace. The hotel kettle in the bedroom was full of dead ants but otherwise the hotel is clean.

It’s a relatively small, family run place this, and that’s were their main, hyper-qualities lies. The location is on very quiet Don Khong, the biggest island, were a stunning sunrise early morning puts you into the mood. Possible excursions is day long boat trips (a smooth collaborative operation with the neighbor enterprises), and cycling on your own. Fair enough. It’s a fine pool there too, that is shared with the guesthouse next door, also run by the same family. So don’t expect action and party coming into this, but then... the hotel operation and the staff itself; tons of laughter and humor, bad jokes, dedicated talks and reflection on politics, religion, etc etc.... this place seems to have it all... And for the record; their kitchen is maybe the best we experienced on DK. In other words, well worth having dinner there, at the terrace, overlooking Mekong in the (also beautiful) sunset. Nb! Huge rooms, good bathroom, ok breakfast... Love it!

Booked one night, stayed two. Clean!!!! Comfortable!!!! Hot showers!!!! Flushing loo!!!! Perfect hospitality- One couldn’t do enough to help and the staff were all fantastic. Couldn’t ask for a nicer stay. I really enjoyed the food- some of the best I have had since being in SEA, both the Loas and Western choices. Oh, did I mention CLEAN and HOT SHOWERS?

It is next by Pon Hotel (same owner!)
I spent two nights at this guesthouse last August-2019-and I was very impressed.I arrived in the evening after a long journey from Attapeu and check-in was handled speedily.I want to pay tribute to Mr Terk who was my host while I was there. He was very helpful in organising a car to take me around the island on my second day and the boat trip to Don Det when I was leaving....The restaurant across the road which is part of the guesthouse is a great place to dine at.The food is good, service is prompt and the restaurant is very clean with a perfect view of the Mekong....This is a lovely place to stay and I'm happy to give it 10 out of 10.

family guesthouse, cannot speak english, almost non-existent service, high prices for food, and ridiculous portions. If you need go somewhere, go pier, don't take the family boat, they'll charge you triple.

I had a meal here after touring the island in a tuktuk. The food is tasty and fresh. You had to wait for them to prepare your order. The service excellent. The ambiance very good. The price similar to other ones around here.
