Deventer’s coolest hotel with a little rock star bar. A design-savvy hotel with affordable rates. A soulful place in the heart of town.
We said it a few times to each other... Wauw, this is the best hotel we ever visit! The people are very friendly, great service! The rooms are cosy and the interior is fantastic! We loved the Crosley record player in the room , the artwork in the room and the restaurant downstairs also has very nice artistic details ! Even the food was incredible! Simply love it ! ♡♡♡♡♡♡

We would like to welcome you in Grand Boutique Hotel "Huis Vermeer"!! The history of our three monumental buildings, throws you far back in time. In 1880, the 'Deventer' banker J. Vermeer, gave architect W.C. Metzelaar the job to convert the establishment, where we are in right now, to his place to residence. Restaurant The dining room is richly decorated with ceiling and wall paintings dating late 18th century. The wooden sliding doors which give access to the bar and the conservatory, are from the same period. A precious detail is the carpet in the dining room, which is a reflection of the ornaments on the ceiling. These beautiful details can also be found in our chapel and rooms. Our cuisine is refines and boasts a range of culinary possibilities Chapel In 1895 the left side of the house was extended with banker Vermeer's house chapel which is now the reception of our hotel. This room is has been assigned by the Dutch government as official monument. The Neogothic panelling is restored to its original glory, as well as the fireplace. Naughty detail...The facade of our hotel features the Latin words 'DEVS AVXIT' which means as much as 'God Multiplies'. We will never know what Mr. Vermeer meant by this. Did he mean posterity or prosperity?? Lounge Next to the reception you will find our 'Lounge' which is a multifunctional room. As hotel guest you can use the room for your well needed relaxation after shopping en sightseeing whilst enjoying a drink and a titbit. The Lounge can also be booked for your private dinner or meeting. A special corner is reserved for our gift shop, where you find attractively priced jewellery. Conservatory and Courtyard Our 'Conservatory' is tastefully decorated. The glass rooftop brightens up the room and ensures "the sun is always shining", also because the gold-leaf in the paintwork. Through the immense doors you will find our 'Courtyard' with our walled terrace with authentic details. Here you can enjoy your morning coffee, lunch or dinner.
The rooms are beautiful and very nicely done up to high boutique quality- not opulent but a very good standard. All the products are Rituals branded and we had an beautiful view of the old Cathedral in front of the hotel, so also very scenic and chic. The staff are outstanding though- they were always so friendly, helpful and genuinely so pleasant that it just made everything feel so much nicer. I really would go back- overall, we were very happy, especially with the staff.

Fletcher Hotel Gilde is situated in a former rectory from 1751 and is only 550 meters away from the main square in Deventer. From the hotel it is only a 10 minute walk to the Historic Museum and the Deventer Theater. Apeldoorn, featuring sights including Apenheul Primate Park and Paleis Het Loo, is a 30 minutes' drive away. The historic building of Fletcher Hotel Gilde, set in a beautiful city garden, clearly shows its rich past. The building also consists of original features such as stained glass. The rooms at Fletcher Hotel Gilde are unique due to the historic nature of this monumental building. Each room includes a seating area, work desk and TV. Guests can enjoy a drink in the cozy bar which includes high ceilings and a bay window. Fletcher Hotel Gilde provides a 24-hours reception.
The hotel is very nice and clean. Our room was on the side of the hotel with a lot of stairs which can be tricky when carrying suitcases. It is near to the city center as well as train station and park (10-15minutes walking). The breakfast was really good with the nice selection of food. The staff were pretty helpful for everything we asked.

We stayed here with 6 friends. We had a kitchen, left largely unused, but well equipped with a coffee an tea supply, some magazines and a super large and nice piece of art in the living. The room is artistic, and it's functionality is well thought through. Bed, Shower and toilet were good, so was the view on the old church square The breakfast is modest and honestly a bit pricey for the simple menu (tea, yoghurt or slices of bread), however, is is enough en served very nicely. The staff is kind and had a very friendly warm welcome (including a good coffee). Must try!

I usually stay in Airbnb’s, but thought I’d try a hotel for just one night. Imagine my surprise when I found my room to be a little apartment! I don’t like to sit and read while sitting in bed, and was thrilled to see a sofa, along with a desk and even full kitchen! My bed was comfortable, too. The hotel owner was very helpful and accommodating, as well as a very interesting conversationalist. If we lived close to one another we’d probably be friends. The building is 400 or 500 years old, and I love that kind of historic feeling. If you come to Deventer, stay here.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Hostel for 6 weeks in the beginning of 2021. The place is newly opened, but run by the very competent and friendly couple Peter and Roxy who also run the Hotel de Vishpoorte. The rooms are brand new, and everything is kept clean and tidy. Staying for 6 weeks, I found myself wishing for a little more storage space and hooks. Peter and Roxy always answered promptly to the emails I sent them, and they really make you feel welcome. The shared kitchen is well equipped. The plece is literally right next to a big beautifull church, the old city and the Ijssel. Highly reccomended if you are here to enjoy the city for a few days.
