Researching hotels in Olly was interesting. I wanted something with some decent amenities and good value. Well this place was fantastic! Service was outstanding. Amenities were great, room was cozy. My wife always ask for AC in rooms, as we are from Florida, so I was concerned, but you don't need AC, the cooler temperatures at night make it more then cool enough. We had a rental car and we had 2 day MP tour. So we were worried about where we could leave the car while we stayed in AC for one night. We asked the hotel and they allowed us to keep it in there gated parking lot even though we were only staying with them 1 night. This was so helpful and appreciated! The service from the gentlemen at the front desk was exceptional! They helped us with our bags, Breakfast was available at 5am so we could eat before our tour. Rooms were everything we needed and more. The hotel grounds were beautiful! All the places in Olly are in walking distance and the train station is just a 2 or 3 minute walk. Highly recommend this place!

Absolutely wonderful hotel in Cusco’s San Blas neighborhood

I stayed here for 3 nights after my awesome Salkantay Trek with Alpaca Expeditions. My sons and friends stayed here, too. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the staff is really friendly and very helpful, and they speak great English. The rooms are lovely, with a small balcony overlooking the open air courtyard with fountains and plants. There are plenty of electrical outlets for charging smart phones, ipads, gopros, battery banks - you name it! Much appreciated. The bathroom had a terrific walk in shower, and the staff provides filtered water in a pitcher so you don’t have to buy bottled water or increase single use plastic consumption. Each evening the staff brings a hot water bottle for a comfortable night sleep (the air was quite cold evenings and mornings - its late fall early winter in May in Cusco, so it dipped into the high 30s), and they bring a thermos of lovely herbal tea. The hotel also has a spa and I enjoyed an incredible massage with Andean herbs and therapeutics - just what I needed after a hard, but fantastic 5 days of trekking at high altitude! The hotel is very fairly priced for the incredible service and amenities. I highly recommend staying here. There is a cool open air market around the corner from it, and restaurants close by. Its an easy walk to the Plaza de Armas.

Wonderful Experience

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Atoq San Blas. Lenny and Ayde went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and were a pleasure to interact with. The location is excellent, in a less touristy neighborhood full of boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. The view from the hotel is beautiful. Cusco can be a bit cold in the winter, so the rooms can get a little bit chilly during the day, but the beds were warm/comfortable, the showers had plenty of hot water, and the heaters turn on in the evenings and early morning. The breakfast was delicious and very accommodating (quinoa fritters, eggs, coffee, tea, juice, toast, butter/jam, granola, yogurt). Luggage storage was available and we utilized this for the night we trekked to Machu Picchu (in between our two separate reservations at Atoq San Blas). Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Atoq San Blas.

Outstanding Hotel

The hotel is clean, modern and love the breakfast. The dinner menu is good but limited but there are many options down nearby. I have to make a point here. I heard about the crime etc in Peru in general. I felt very safe walking around even at night. My wife was all stressed out over it. I think the issue has been overblown or has changed for the better. Cusco is a city with good and bad parts just like any other city. I loved Lima and the people are gracious and friendly and there is so much to do and see. Get out and enjoy it all, but start with this hotel and I think others will agree that it is a really nice hotel in a really nice part of Cusco. My only problem with this hotel was with this 1 girl who worked the desk out front. Many people I traveled with had issues with her attitude. Other than her, everyone else was top notch.

El Albergue Ollantaytambo

Located on the Ollantaytambo train station, El Albergue is only one train stop away from Machu Picchu and close to many interesting attractions. El Albergue dates back to 1925 and maintains the charm and elegance of the early 20th century while offering modern day requirements such as free high speed internet and in-room telephones. Room rates include 2 guests, any additional guests will be and added charge.

Did not get the room we thought we were paying for.

Reviewed By Rudeyna Q

We stayed at El Albergue for three nights. The hotel is inside the rail station. First the good - the room we stayed in was spotlessly clean. The restaurant was decent and the wait staff friendly. When we checked out, we were presented with a pair of clay bulls - which was a very nice touch. Our main gripe with our stay is the room we were in. We had booked a superior room with balcony. Hotel’s. website described the room as tucked away in the gardens away from the rail station. Our room (24) was tucked in between the rail station and what seemed like a couple of staff only building that emanated hammering noises dawn to dusk. The picture and description of our room say it is a 430 sqft room, consisting of a queen and a twin bed, with a seating area, desk and fireplace. And what looks like a large balcony with a couple of armchairs. Our room only fit one king bed and a desk , no sign of seating area, well short of the 430 sqft that was advertised. We had a balcony that had only one armchair, inadequate for the two of us. Either the hotel’s description is disingenuous or the reception gave us the wrong room. When we brought this to front desks attention, we were told our room is indeed superiors balcony with Mountain View, and that she will talk to the manager. When we inquired in the evening, the front desk did not seem to know of our complaints and proceeded to educate us on the different room types. And that she would talk to the manager next day. At that point we just gave up and bided our time until checkout. We never did see the elusive manager in our three night stay there. The room we were provided had no hanging space. None! We essentially used door knobs for hanging our jackets. One minor gripe- the first two days during our stay, the bathroom only had two bath towels. We thought this was a bare bones hotel and didn’t think to ask. On our last day housekeeping left bath, hand and face towels. The hotel is excellent for a one night stay to or from Machu Picchu. We were hoping to recharge in a beautiful surrounding for a few days, which did not happen. Had I known we would not get the room we paid for, we certainly would not have stayed here. We checked out feeling disappointment in our overall experience with the hotel.
