Me and my sister did a “staycation” and want led to check out the hotel because of the awesome location its in.The hotel itself is in good condition but the only thing they need to improve is the carpets in the rooms (smell like feet). Customer service need improvement specially at the vallet and front desk. The bartender at Bar50 was really good and friendly.

Served its purpose

Reviewed By DreamsOfMyComrades

This hotel was perfectly okay for an overnight stay. It’s close to the airport, quiet, and we got a good night’s sleep. The room is adequate, pretty clean but could use a good dusting. The bathroom was small and the TV channel selections are weak. It seems overpriced, but I guess you’re paying for the location, which is walking distance to a variety of restaurants and shops. Not highly recommended, but no regrets either.

Careful with your credit card

Reviewed By alyssamma

Hotel itself was fine, but they insist on photocopying your credit card. This is then stored on a little shelf next to the check in computer...not secured at all. Furthermore, the hotel had my unencrypted credit card number sent to it from booking dot com. I know this because when I objected to letting him photocopy it he went to his computer to show me he had already been sent my credit card...and indeed printed it out for me to see. Otherwise the hotel is fine and in a good neighborhood. . but will not stay here again because of this policy.

I had the pleasure of dealing with the person in charge of Sales/Customer accounts at this property to block 50 rooms for a wedding at a different venue. The Associate Ms. Liza was professional, flexible, easy to work with, and did all within her powers to make sure the customer was taken care. Aloft is fortunate to have such a dedicated professional on board.

Location excellent but not worth the money

Reviewed By dmann82

Great Location but DATED. We chose the hotel because the bride and groom recommended on their site and close to airport and close to wedding venue and it was historical. Also they thought the location was excellent which it REALLY WAS EXCELLENT. We.absolutely love the location but saw better hotels near by. This hotel has a five star $$$$ restaurant in the lobby that was packed every night yet the elevator we never used because it was suspect from the 1950s and hotel management had to operate. We were on the 3rd floor room 303 which was quiet for the most part but it is dated and desperately in need of renovations. For the price per night I expected more. The hot water is HOT which was awesome but bathroom need new paint tub:shower and caulking. Rid the rust please. Vent needs a desperate cleaning like last year and so does the ceiling fan. Floors need to be restored and refinished. Place an iron in the room and replace some of the worn towels. And clean the parking garage for $25/night self parking filth was everywhere. I was really surprised because I would have stayed at a very nice Marriott propriety had I known. It wasn’t just me, everyone at the wedding was disappointed at this hotel. Definitely below my standards. I have seen a holiday inn express that was nicer.

Sad experience- No lost and found control ?

Reviewed By Naoko N

My previous ring disappeared which was left right beside the TV. I knew that the cleaning staff would not have missed it when she came in after we had checked out. But, the manager whom I talked to on the phone said that she would trust her. I called the hotel several times as they never communicate by email (although I had sent them emails). Long distance calls cost us a lot as I sometimes had to hold for a while, but no luck with it turning up o their end. The last thing the manager said was that she would ask the guest who checked into the room after we left. I emailed her asking to follow up…but no response. Very sad experience..:not so trustworthy. When we stayed at Hampton Inn Coral Gable, we left a valuable behind, and the manager kept it for us in his office for 3 months till we could go back to pick it up. We were hoping that the same thing would happen…but no chance. I understand that they would want to trust their staff…however, it is so clear that the ring was sitting at such an obvious place and would not have been missed by the first person who came into the room. The very first staff I talked to on the phone told me that there was no such a thing “lost and found box” at the hotel…. Just grab and keep it…? Stay at your own risk. Sad sad sad…:(.
