Really liked this place! 6 of us (4x adults and 2x kids) stayed in a cabin overnight. It was right by the river so the balcony looked over it. Was so peaceful. We booked the hot tub (for an extra £50 per night) and it didn’t disappoint. Both caretakers couldn’t have been any nicer, giving us extra towels for the hot tub. The place was really clean and well laid out. I would go back again to stay without a doubt!!!! Recommend!!!

Situated in the centre of the beautiful village of Dollar, Clackmannanshire you will find West Burnside Apartments. Built as a coaching inn in 1822, the former Castle Campbell Hotel has been completely refurbished into 7 luxury apartments and 2 townhouses. You will find our apartments with stunning views of Castle Campbell, alongside the pretty Dollar Burn that is formed from two streams known as the Burn of Sorrow and the Burn of Care. The streams join below the stunning Castle set in the Ochil Hills and runs down then glen into Dollar, and directly past our beautiful apartments.
From pre booking to our stay Neil & Marie could not do enough to help. Apartment 11b has everything you could want for a comfortable and hassle free stay. My son loved the Xbox and the girls enjoyed the TV,s in their bedrooms, unbelieveable they all enjoyed using the cordeless hoover although I am sure the novelty won't last. We all enjoyed the sofa which we could all sit on and our breafast bar which allowed us to chat as a family something that we as a family enjoy. Everyone enjoyed their beds and our entire family slept well, If your looking to stay here I would highly recommend you do as you will not be dissapointed.

It is always a pleasure to see old friends again and to welcome new visitors to our comfortable Inn with 9 newly refurbished bedrooms, enjoying the dramatic and beautiful scenery of the Ochil Hills. Set in the picturesque wee county of Clackmannanshire, Tillicoultry is close to Stirling; it's nearby to so many beauty spots and historic places of interest. For business users, "Tilly" is close to all the central belt's main towns and cities and less than an hour from Edinburgh centre and the airport. We, along with our two close neighbours, Alva and Dollar, enjoy some of the best hillwalking routes and views in Scotland and we are always happy to cater for the hungry and homeless whilst on their Ohil Hills expeditions.
When we arrived we were shown to a truly dreadful room. Dirty, old and the most uncomfortable bed I have ever laid down on, and that is saying something. The black mould on the shower curtain and the dirty towels were the last straw. We said we would have to leave in the morning and they moved us into ‘the best room’ next door. It was certainly much better and cleaner but the bed was still uncomfortable, most of the lights did not work, the drawers got stuck, the wardrobe had no handles, the bathroom had no shaver point, the towels still had strange brown marks on them... for £75 a night NOT very good. The staff really tried - the towels were replaced and apologised for. The bed was soft and moved so much we genuinely had to check it wasn’t a water bed - it wasn’t, just really poor. Oh, and the crowning turd in the water pipe - it’s a bed and breakfast with NO BREAKFAST. Also, there’s no parking, so you have to find a place by the roadside. Really, just don’t. Really. Move on.
