Great honeymoon spot

Reviewed By kwaller06

We traveled here for our honeymoon which ended up being a perfect spot to relax. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean - we loved the view from our patio overlooking the tidepools. We spent time at the two beaches with amenities (loved the delivery service at the beach/pool) which were both quiet and relaxing. We golfed a round one day and the golf pro, Kenny, was helpful and encouraging. The daily breakfast buffet was incredibly comfortable and offered a variety of choices each day. The front desk helped us with taxis to Christiansted when we did go into town for dinners. We would definitely think about going back to the Buccaneer!

Check-in nightmare

Reviewed By badhowie

I called earlier on arrival day and talked to the proprietor about arriving by ten pm. All seemed ok. Then we arrived and could not get in. They had NOT sent the code. I used the red phone that was supposed to connect with office people. It rang but I could not connect with anyone. Our phones were useless because of poor cell service. We waited. After an hour we drove to find another hotel, and cell phones COULD work, and finally connected with proprietor. Only to find out wifi codes not listed. Had to call again on that. Midnight, we were settled. Good breakfast, though.

So I’ll start as that I can sleep under a tarp if it’s near the beach. It’s so much worse. Especially considering the cost to get and stay here. Easter weekend! Should be quiet and enjoyable, well it wasn’t. The pool is out of service… cool that happens. What shouldn’t happen is someone that has traveled the world to wonder wth is going on here. There were less than no accommodations to speak of. The staff were barely relevant. The noise from outside is literally unacceptable! Worse hotel experience ever! DO NOT STAY HERE! I could go on and on but I think this advice should save someone spending $1500 on a terrible spring break family experience! Good luck!

NOPE! Honeymoon Horror Story

Reviewed By S5369LBgarretts

Book at your own risk! I feel like this place is a scam… My wife and I from Las Vegas booked a suite for our honeymoon with a King bed and couch. However the room we received is 2 double beds and 5 lounge chairs. This is not what we booked or expected. The room is filthy and looks like it hasnt been cleaned in years. There’s a boarded up window and exposed hole where the AC unit drains right over the bed. All furniture looks and feels dirty. The ceiling fans have inches of dust on them. We are not staying here not even one night, we don’t feel comfortable staying here. When we called the office about the bed mix up he said “I don’t know why this keeps happening”. The owner came by and said they couldn’t do anything until the next day and even then a room switch wasn’t guaranteed. For the amount of money they are asking it absolutely doesn’t add up. When we tried to notify the owner that we wouldn’t be staying and need to cancel and dispute, he started sending us straight to voicemail so we started a claim with Expedia to at least get the ball rolling. This was a devastating experience.

Stay away

First of the resort is run down, and by run down I mean mold on the walls, unclean restrooms, and trash around the “Resort” . We left after only one night, there was so much noice and on top of that someone tried to get into our room!. We called the front desk and all the guy said was “ just come down im the morning” this because the front desk closes at 8pm. The beach is beautiful but there are million others like it, with safer places to stay. Don’t get me wrong, I wast expecting a 5 star hotel but man at least half a star. Anyways we got ahold of the “General Manager” Cathy Decker who trying to say that someone breaking in was not a reason to reimburse us like okay, should he have killed us? Ultimately we got our money back, but we will never come back to this place.

Nice Hotel

The hotel was beautiful and we really enjoyed it. Our a/c in our room leaked water every day. We kept telling the front office but no one did anything until we saw the maintenance person direct. He immediately took care of it. When we checked in we asked to have our rooms cleaned every other day. Good Luck with that. Once again we kept asking the front desk if they would clean our rooms. There were five couples and everyone had the same problem. One of the rooms wasn't cleaned for almost a week. Also beware there is no elevator. We had a person who had surgery and on crutches. They were on the 3rd floor. They didn't offer to move the person to a lower level. Also, beware that check out is at 11:00 and if you are not checked out by then it's a $50.00 per hour charge to stay in your room.

Came for St. Pats, left because of the chainsaw running in a bucket truck at 7 am Sunday morning.

Reviewed By AlbinoStreetPoet

Clean room, lovely view of the government lot. Lot of activity to watch during the St Pats celebration. Security was visible around the hotel. Once the noise died down around 2, sleep was easy in the room. Around 7 AM or a little earlier a backhoe, dumpster and bucket truck were parked next to the first rooms and a mango tree was removed. We checked out so not sure when it stopped however watching the other guest come out and try to figure out what was going on was fun. Life is like a box of chocolates, sometimes you get the sound of a chainsaw and branches being dropped into a dumpster from tree stories up. Would stay again but would ask about their landscaping schedule.
