Excellent value, smiles and politness

This hotel lays just 400 meters from Cesana center, it is a structure recently renovated surrounded by a nice garden which a kinder play park and a nice bar with plenty of tables. The room: we were upgraded to a suite room, 4th and last floor. Very spacious, with a large and modern bathroom, a nice bedroom and sitting room. Wonderful for the price. We decided to have dinner at the ground floor restaurant. Let's say good enough, we had vegetarian lasagne and chicken roll accompanied by a tasty and rich tarte. Again we are not talking high cuisine but for the price very good. Only spot the beer was served almost lukewarm. Perfection does not belong to this world. One word about the politeness : very remarkable, genuine hospitality. So full marks mostly because the ratio price quality is very good.

Enjoyable Week

Reviewed By IanStarr

Booked this through Booking.com as friends were staying locally for a weeks skiing. Part reason I chose those was because there was no single supplement ?. No issues with booking, arrived early and room was ready. I had room 34 which was plenty big enough for me although 2 would be cosy. Had balcony, top floor and on the back so apart from the river limited road noise. Hotel was 2 separate buildings originally with the new more modern looking part joining them. However, internally all appeared traditional decorated, lots of wood. Breakfast was continental, very well stocked although it did reduce during the week but probably to be expected as less guests. Loved the individual Italian coffee pots - just ask but once you’ve had once they come without asking next day. There is a bar and restaurant signs but they weren’t offered so not sure if it was just the week I was there or it’s permanent. Staff were very friendly and helpful and there English was much better than my Italian. I didn’t require it but the owner does run a shuttle bus to the lifts in Cesana which is about a half mile walk, ok if you don’t have any gear but sensible to take. There is also a large ski room and heated boot racks. Only downside for me was that because everything is wooden, even though I was on the top floor, it seemed I could hear a lot of noise from other rooms. Bathroom noise from below is a first but there were also other guests who were not respectful of the fact the walls were a little thin. I could cope with it but I don’t think my wife would have without earplugs. Overall a great stay, would recommend and would stay again.

Breakfast was excellent which great choice of food and drink! Eleanor and her mother Ivonne made our welcome so comfortable and nothing was too difficult for them! They booked restaurants for us and always insisted on us joining them for a drink in the afternoon! This B&B is excellently located for walking/cycling/skiing and would highly recommend staying here!

Stay as a family member

Me and my friend stayed here for a snowboarding week in Via Lattea. And we loved this place! The best thing about it is morning croissants - they're just out of space!!! We even asked for additional one every morning haha. The family who own a hotel is super friendly and helpful, they even could provide a discount on ski passes. Room was fine with amazing balcony and terrace. Perfect location not far from ski lift (we walked 7 minutes) and in the very heart of old town.

Single skier on the MilkyWay

Reviewed By StuartALittle

Excellent hotel on a budget. Couldn't believe they had accepted my booking (mostly because they don't take credit cards), but Hotel and staff were as good as gold. This is a medium sized family run Italian hotel offering basic accommodation, 1/2 board, en-suite at an unbelievable price. May not be clear from booking.com that meals are included. Food is traditional Italian 'family' cuisine (i.e. not gourmet - but very filling). Room is good, clean, basic with en-suite and balcony. View is to die for. Ski store in lobby. It is in walking distance of the Cesana lift, which is midway on the MilkyWay lift system. There is no bus, taxis are available, but the walk is invigorating (about 1km) and will get your legs warmed up! (particularly if you head up the French side as it is open). Italian side is on enclosed gondola (excellent lift capacity). Walk is through town, so you can pick up rations on the way out, and stop for a beer on the way back. Obviously good if you have a car; but will work on public transport. Buses from Oulx (main line to Turin / TGV, Paris etc) check timetables (Sadem Buses 285 OULX-CESANA-CLAVIERE). Hotel can arrange transport (friends or taxis will drive) but they speak little English. Cesana isn't a swinging town, it's quiet at night with a few nice bars and restaurants. If you want to ski - this is an excellent location; if you want to party - try Sauze. Owners are very friendly and helpful; they are also religious (some found this too much). But they are not too concerned about making loadsamoney, they offer a good honest service, and if you don't like it - don't come. Plenty of local walking and things to see in Cesana (for a morning or two), but this is not a destination place - it offers access to Sauze, Sestrierre, Claviere and MontGenevre, all of which can be reached by bus (some free) and all of which are worth visiting on foot or on skis. Olympic centre has to be done just for the crack. Down side: No ski storage at lift station, MilkyWay pass is excellent value but only includes 1 day in Montgenevre (you can buy extensions). You will probably not be able to ski down to Cesana (close, but not right down).

Club Hotel Solaris

Highly recommend

Reviewed By aubreyl538

My boyfriend and I came to Solaris not knowing what to expect and we we ended up having the best time. One of the things that attracted us to this resort is the the fact that it’s all inclusive. I’ve never done all inclusive before so I was definitely speculative to see if it really was “all inclusive.” It definitely was. There’s a schedule of when food is available. In the morning there’s generally a buffet style setting with a chef that can also customize an omelette, scrambled eggs etc for you. There’s also a number of bars (including one you can swim up to in the pool) where drinks are free of charge with the the all inclusive package. All the bartenders were great but our favorite was definitely Luis who works at the main lobby bar: There are two nicer restaurants included in the package. Marco Polo and Panchos. If you want to dine there as opposed to the dinner buffet available then you need to make a reservation first thing in the morning. I had tuna tartar and shrimp bisque my first night at Marco Polo and it was delicious. They rotate different menus everyday between French, Mediterranean, Fajitas etc so you’re not eating the same meal every day. Although tips are not expected/required due to the all inclusive package my boyfriend and I tipped everyone that took care of us on throughout the week on our last day. This isn’t required by any means but it was something we felt was right because of service they gave us. Aside from good food I would have to say the customer service that Solaris offered was great. When we first arrived we were greeted by a travel assistant/advisor Karina. She made us feel extremely welcome and helped us throughout our stay scheduling dinner reservations and excursions. She never pushed any excursions on us but was super informative on what our options were and gave us great deals. I will say that we were offered deals on excursions/massages for attending a timeshare presentation. My boyfriend and I already have a timeshare in Tahoe. We went into the presentation with an open mind but we decided it wasn’t best for us but it’s something we’re recommending to our friends that don’t have time shares to check out. There’s multiple pools throughout the resort. My bf and I are in our late 20s and don’t have kids but ironically we decided to spend most of our time at the family pool where they have activities between 11:00-5:00. They have activities like water aerobics (which at first I made fun of but ended up doing it for 6 days straight because it was so fun) beach volleyball, water volleyball, ping pong and tons of other games. If you’re looking for a more adult relaxing experience there’s an adult pool without activities/children. If you do have kids they have a whole other pool with water slides and kid friendly shallow pools. Since my boyfriend and I spent so much time at the family pool we ended up becoming great friend with the staff that coordinate/run the activities. Aaron, Jhony, Lara, Maggie, JJ, & Jose made the activities so much fun. Day one I was thinking there was no way I was going to participate in anything but by the end of the week I was doing everything and having a blast because the staff makes you feel like family. By the end of the week I truly felt like family/friends with them and was sad to leave. If you’re planning on relaxing and don’t want the activities you can go to the adult pool where it’s total relaxation. There’s basically the best of both worlds here. All in all, I would definitely recommend Club Solaris. It was one of best vacations we’ve had.

Hotel Garden Cesana

Historic hotel located in the center of Cesana Torinese, a town located in the center of the Via Lattea ski area. The structure was taken over in 2020 and the renovation carried out in the name of energy saving and modernity is underway: underfloor heating, comfortable laminates, new windows, sky TV, each room with a balcony. Internal bar available and direct access to the La Locanda restaurant. In the course of 2022, an elevator will be built, a rumpus room for breakfast and dedicated to guests for the evening and, if possible, a small spa

Just returned from a lovely stay, all of the staff are really friendly and very helpful. Bedrooms are basic, but spotlessly clean and warm. We ate in the restaurant on three evenings, The New Years Eve dinner was delicious, a really enjoyable night. Bar area is cafe style, some comfortable seating would be an added bonus in this area. Roberto, organised our airport transfers and recommended ski school & ski hire, very helpful as it was our first time to stay in the area. The planned renovations will make this hotel a really great place to stay.
