Embraced by the Park of Etna, from Nebrodi Park and the Alcantara River Park, this elegant 4 * hotel offers its guests a unique atmosphere. The hotel counts 98 rooms, four Categories: Classic, Deluxe, Junior Suite and Suite, a spa area of 950 square meters, a fully equipped fitness room and an elegant restaurant. Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & Spa with its 6 meeting rooms is the ideal setting for meetings and special events. The 18-hole golf course, Il Picciolo Golf Club is situated along the slopes of Mount Etna and has a unique and spectacular view on the most important volcano in Europe. The Club House features:15 rooms, Restaurant, Driving range, putting and pitching green, Equipment Hire. Il Picciolo Etna Golf Resort & SPA is located on the north-eastern side of Etna, southwest of Taormina. This is a very interesting area both from a landscape and from a natural point of view. Besides Etna being World Heritage as well as the most important volcano in whole Europe, there are also other important natural parks nearby. In a very short distance there are two wonderful architectural jewels such as Catania and Taormina with its famous Greek-Roman theatre.
We spend one week with our golf club at the hotel, played the course 5 times and took a sightseeing tour to the Etna. The golf course is challenging, has interesting holes and is in reasonable shape, except the bunkers. In the bunkers there is basically no sand, but quite a lot of small lava stones and the edges are not cut properly. The very large clubhouse was one of the positive elements during the trip, there is a small bar next to the golf reception, offering small meals and snacks with very attentive service people. There is another, larger restaurant on the upper floor, which we did not try, because the open ging times were limited to weekends. One can leave the golf bags in the caddy room, they were cleaned every day by young person, which all golfers appreciated very much. Apparently the golf course changed ownership about one year ago and some improvements have been implemented during this time. The hotel, so we were told was only acquired about three month ago out of receivership and not much has been done since. Management was not visible, but I was able to speak to the manager of the golfing activities and pointed out very many items that require urgent attention. The wellness area is in terrible state, it is run down, many things like the showers do not work and it needs a big renovation effort. I was told that a new management company would be brought in to do this in the future and the current poor condition was being blamed on the previous ownership, for not maintaining the place in reasonable shape. Maintenance is missing in major areas such as the elevators in the hotel, the TV system is totally antiquated and only shows some Italian programs, if one figures out how to operate it with two different devices. The breakfast does not meet international standards for a 3 or 4 star hotel, there are about 10 different type of cakes for breakfast, but if one wants fried eggs, an omelet or boiled eggs, there is an extra change. The service personnel at the restaurant differed by person, a couple of younger men were attentive, another one was called Mr. Grumpy by our group. While much in the hotel has to to with lacking investment, the point that I made to the golfing manager, that did not seen to be understood, was the lack of pure and simple housekeeping. We asked for a boiled to make some tea in the room, which we go, but the cups that came with it were very dirty on the inside. This is a matter of training and attention. The same is true for many of the items in the wellness areas, which have not been cleaned for month. This could and should have been seen by the new management that came in three month ago. Overall, the price that is being charged for the quality is not justified and by no way competitive with golf hotels in Spain or Portugal.

Between the extraordinary territory of the Etna Park and uncontaminated Alcantara Valley, on a sandstone hill , is located the medieval town of Castiglione di Sicilia. Here in the heart of its historic centre, in an ancient palace of 14th century, completely renovated was born Hotel Frederick II. The hotel offers 9 rooms, all elegantly furnished and equipped with every comfort and is the ideal place to spend a holiday in relax for discover the natural beauties
This is a small simple village on a lovely hill with fantastic views of Etna and the surrounding valley. The hotel, the best in the center of the village is simple but has all the amenities and very friendly owners/staff. The restaurant is also very good, the breakfast could be better.

An Art Nouveau building from the late '800 where history meets modernity. We are located in Castiglione di Sicilia, one of the "most beautiful villages in Italy". A place where tranquility, love for nature, food and wine come together in a perfect marriage. Admire from our terraces one of the most beautiful views of Mount Etna. You'll can easily reach the most touristic destinations: Taormina, the beaches of Giardini Naxos, the Nebrodi Park, Catania, The Etna Wine Road and the many wineries located in our Territory. Perfect place for those who love nature, relax, horse riding, trekking and Nordic Walking, Jeep tour and Quod. Food and wine trails, festivals, folk traditions are the corollary to a territory to discover.
At the last minute we wanted to book an Etna tour and they arranged it for us within 12hours on a Sunday the day after New Years. That’s service. It was wonderful. The rooms we had and views were great. Clean and marvelous views with central location of this very small quaint town. Staff extremely friendly. No breakfast because of Covid but the breakfast room looked nice.

This is such a lovely place! Opened recently and has all comforts one can wish for and more. Very comfortable rooms, modern and clean. Very friendly staff that makes you feel very welcome. They will go the extra mile for their guests. The restaurant connected is high level and bases on local produce. There is also a shop with local products for sale. The swimming pool is big enough for either just poodling or a serous swim. Strongly recommended!

We stayed for three nights after a long night time drive from Catania Airport. Itself a saga, but the directions for the last few miles were excellent. Beware of the VERY narrow lane with stone walls immediately before the entrance gate. The room was all we wanted, with a good en-suite and fast wi-fi. A snack was provided for us on arrival ( 11pm rather too late for a full meal, but that was on offer if we had wanted it). The farmhouse has been fairly basically converted from the original buildings without loosing any of its original charm. Breakfast is part of the booking, but you can also book an evening meal. This is a traditional Italian one with wine and several starters. 25 euro each. We had this the second night and it was served at a leisurely pace but with no great gaps - the food was to eat slowly and with care! We got information as to e tour gide to take us up Etna (advisable - you get much more information that way), and coming up from the North side it seemed much less commercilised than reports of the South side. And cheaper! The house has a swimming pool and plenty of places to sit in the sun, and we gather a stock of games for wet weather and to keep children occupied. Tv in the room - but all channels seemed Italian. The views are excellent, wirh Etna puffing smoke and ash on the horizon one way, and vineyards and hills the other.

Etna Wine is a newly founded Agritourism resort deeply rooted in the past. Settled in the lush vegetation of the vineyards the Villa has been completely remodeled to retain the beauty of it’s traditional architecture. There are seven lovely apartments, a museum,a large hall for tasting of Etna DOC wine and typical regional products and a historical wine cellar with wooden wine barrels. Ample parking available for buses and cars
Stayed one night at this vineyard with two friends, after reading good reviews on Google. It proved to be wrong. There was a shabby atmosphere (not in a positive way) in the reception and it smelled fish when arriving. It was a low standard on our apartment, and after deciding to try the restaurant for supporting the vineyard we were even more disappointed. Came to the restaurant in the evening, a hour after opening. It was very spacious and with a lot of table, it look like they were prepared for customers with plates, glasses etc. There were two other guests, and when we were "welcomed" we only got one meny, for the three of us, to share. When we asked for two more after trying a while to get the waiters attention, she told us that they only had three menues and the two other was with the other couple. Say what!! It continued with a terrible service, we would say non existing. It look like she hated her job and couldn't be less interested in serving us. We felt a bit uncomfortable with the whole setting, and the shabby atmosphere continued in the restaurant as well. I don't think a smile, a warm welcome and attention to your customers is too much to ask for when eating at a place. This was aweful, the only good thing was my friends, they saved the dinner and was very good company just by being themselves. The only thing making this stay getting 2 stars instead of 1 is the food.

We recently spent 7 nights here as it is perfectly situated for travelling around the region but away from hussle and bussle. The resort is in the countryside over looking the gorge below. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were fabulous and really helpful. We ate in the restaurant several nights and the food was superb. Although the menu consists of several courses you can pick and choose if you dont want them all. Where possible the chef made the food gluten free due to my dietery restrictions. The only criticism would be that our bed was very hard and we slept with sebveral blankets on the matress to soften it.

In the heart of Castiglione di Sicilia, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and the Wine City, nestled between the Etna slopes and the Alcantara river valley, on the way of the precious Etna land wines, a few minutes from one of the most renowned golf courses in the southern Italy and about 30 minutes from the ski resorts of Piano Provenzana, ANIMOSA SUITES is born.
We booked two rooms for a stopover en route to Alcantara Gorge. Both beautifully appointed, modern suites easily accommodating our two families of four. A balcony to sit and eat the most amazing leisurely breakfast with a view of the lovely town. Every detail thought of. Toiletries, complimentary water, coffee machine and kettle in the room, proper china cups. A mini bar with soft drinks and wine if needed. Minutes from great restaurants. Perfect!

Prezzi ottimi! Lo consiglio vivamente!
