Castelo de Vide Hotel is located in the historical village of Castelo de Vide. The hotel offers 53 guestrooms that are well equipped with private bathroom, conditioned air, direct phone, satellite TV, video channel, radio and balcony. During leisure, guests can relax at the lobby or sip a drink in the India bar. Here you'll have an unforgettable holiday, with a lot of fun and a lot of interesting places to visit. Only 10km from Spain.
The location is good to explore the village and also to use as a starting point to explore the region. It is free and easy to park (at least in May). The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff is friendly. The sound isolation is not great and you can hear quite well when someone walks in the hallway or opens/closes their door. The room facilities are a bit outdated and some worned out, but nothing major. You can just notice. It is fair to say that the hotel fulfills the basic requirements and for a 3 star hotel in some aspects goes a bit beyond. Overall it is a relatively cheap hotel that is good for 2/3 nights, but don't expect a lot.

Built in the XVIII Century and rebuilt in the XX Century, Casa Amarela TH & National Monument is a charm hotel and a building classified as a Monument of Public Interest with the core values are the excellence of the facilities, the quality and professionalism of the services provided. Located at the Dom Pedro V Square, right in the center of Castelo de vide, a village where Art, Historic Heritage, Nature and social life combine to captivate those who visit us. The Jewish Quarters, the Medieval Town, the Castle, Fonte da Vila, are a 5 minute walk away. Casa Amarela has 11 rooms, two of the convertible into suites. All rooms have private bathrooms, air conditioned, flat screen TV, and have either Square or Mountains views. Breakfast is a mix of local and homemade fresh products and is served on the ground floor room, the house’s former stables, with a view of the São Paulo mountain.
Establishment practicing overbooking. I do not advise you to stay at this location. Reservation made and confirmed, amount charged to the credit card and when arriving at the hotel there was no room available.

Located in one of the most privileged areas of the Historical Village of Castelo de Vide, with a fantastic view to the garden and the montain of Sao Paulo, 100 mts from the city center, 5 minutes walking to the castle, medieval walls, Jewish Quarter, synagogue and fontain of the vila. In our restaurant you can find all the gastronomy of this region: the lamb stew, the rice hare, the deer with chestnuts, the sarapatel, migas Alentejanas with ribs and sausages. Of traditional confectionery specialties of this region stand out as bacon from heaven or apple boleima, the golden soup, the chestnuts delights or sericaia with Elvas plums, all this may be accompanied by the famous cheeses of Nisa and watered by one of our Alentejo wines.
It was a very pleasant stay. We stay in the second floor over looking the park, the view was great! The owners were very nice and always had a smile. The location of the hotel was great, a block a way from restaurants, cafes, stores, pharmacies... The town is the most beautiful town I have seen so far. I will definitely go back there!!!

Quinta de Lavandas is an exceptional place for a night (or nights) stay. It is a magnificent mansion outside Costello de Vida. The room is well decorated and was very clean. The breakfast was wonderful, all a person can expect from a breakfast-menu. The owner, Teresa, is very helpful. She knows the area very well, and assisted us very kindly.

This hotel is very marked by the 80’s hotel decoration, having a strong touch of the regional decorative elements. Probably for some guests it needs renovation, for others the important it is the opportunity to go back in time. Staff is friendly. Enjoy!

Unfortunately, we could only spend one night. This is a place to stay for a few days. The surroundings are amazing and the converted train station into a hotel feels like home. Allocate 2 -3 days for the place and you will not regret. Modern, comfortable, excellently priced and with a special atmosphere.

Let me clarify something: these days I don't write reviews for TripAdvisor. But I decided to open an exception to Convento Senhora da Vitória as it was so special. I was hesitating. It was my birthday and I wanted to chose well the place for the night. Castelo de Vide is lovely and then I saw the listing of Convento Senhora da Vitória. I was a bit taken aback by previous guests reviews but in the end I just followed my instinct and booked. This was the smartest thing to do. The place was indeed special and magic. Wow! It's not everyday that one has the chance to spend time and sleep in a historical building. And the convent was renovated and adapted in the best possible way. Each corner hides new surprises. Each room is cozy, homey and atmospheric. The decoration is lovely. The piles of magazines and books add a touch of class. The details are amazing: the efforts to heat up such a cold structure, the fire always burning in the fireplace living room, the attention to the comfort of the guests. Breakfast was impeccable, location was generally quiet and I had a great night of sleep. Wi-fi was stable and fast. My bedroom was awesome! What a view! What a space! The bathroom needed some attention at a maintenance level but was beautiful and full of charm. I have no words to describe how much the place. I travel a lot, I stayed in hundreds of hotels, hostels, guesthouses, homestays. And this one goes straight to my top 5. It's unique. Now, if you are picky and strict, stay away, it's not a place for you. If you are obsessed with details and expect the coldness of a hotel room, look somewhere else. If you have magic and fantasia in your heart, if you love unique places with history, look no further! P.S. - There is space for improvement at the reception, which was not welcoming. Not rude, but not warm either. The place deserves more. Also, it's not good to ask payment on the check in... it lacks charm and style, that's more adequate to a roadside cheap motel.

3 nights here was perfect as a base to explore the region. The Guest House is a 12 minute stroll into town, and is furnished in the traditional Portuguese style, and makes a change from the corporate type of hotels. Our room was large, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There was a small fridge in the room too, and the Portuguese TV channels also had a lot of English-spoken programmes. Bathroom was large and the shower too! Plenty of space for clothes which was good. Extra blankets and pillows available. Breakfasts were huge, far too much on offer to make an impact on it! Fruit, a wide range of cereals, home-baked cakes, cheeses, hams, various breads and rolls, at least 10 jams, lots of choices of fruit juices, eggs cooked to order, the list goes on! The grounds are tended to by the owner Maria herself, the gardens and flowers are lovely, as were the fresh strawberries she picked and gave us! Plenty of parking, plenty of areas to sit in the sun or shade, quiet enough to sit, read or have a drink and watch the sun go down. Definitely worth a direct phone call to check availability and the value-for-money prices ;)

Wonderful, hospitable and lovely owners! Never eaten such a good breakfast, and everything homemade!!! Three kinds of freshly baked bread, 6 kinds of homemade jams, crepes, 4 kinds of regional pastries, fresh orange juice, a large fruit plate from their own garden, a perfect yogurt and everything else I forgot to mention. Guided tour in the beautiful vegetable garden and a free bottle of homemade alcoholic drink.
