The experience was absolutely wonderful, Everything was super from the moment we arrived, the room upgrade, free of charge, wonderful view and great atmosphere. Room service was really quick and the turndown gift was much appreciated. Breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean, yachts, sea and birdlife was really beautiful.

Friendly welcome, excellent accommodation, great shuttle service but this is where it stops... I attempted to have a good dinner after 14 days of very good experiences in SA. At the bar the ‘Barman’ did not know what he was doing to start with. When I eventually could order dinner in a not very busy restaurant the waiting game started. No apologies and when the totally tasteless uninspiring smoked ‘’trout’’ eventually arrived after some 30 minutes wait I kept on asking for my main course. After over an hour wait I walked out without having had my dinner, without finishing my paid for wine but with an upset stomach so annoyed I was from such lousy service. What a good hotel and what a let down by some obviously could not care less staff. Conclusion sleep well but do not try and eat well- ....and change your entire F&B team including the manager who does not seem to motivate or attempt to train his staff.

Explore the city right from our doorstep. Originally home to the South African Reserve Bank and Temple Chambers and, later, the Board of Executors (BoE), Taj Cape Town effortlessly combines the legacy of the old with the luxury of the new. Located in the centre of the old city, it boasts a strong sense of place and is within walking distance to some of South Africa’s foremost landmarks and attractions and an eclectic array of shops, galleries and restaurants. Spread across two heritage buildings, all 176 rooms have spectacular city views or overlook the iconic Table Mountain.
Clogged sink , had to walk down to the reception and show the video / pictures to get someone to fix the problem. Broken USB port, you must carry power adapter and don’t rely on the USB ports in the room. Staff doesn’t know enough where and the timing to get the COVID testing. Do your own homework. Very unreliable. They sent us to the hospital late night and we found out the they don’t do COVID testing at night. The staff sent us to the wrong bank for money exchange.

A very special place at the heart of Cape Town. We just returned from a 10 nights holiday in South Africa. Ahead of our arrival, the hotel manager Martijn was virtually present to assist us with any questions, recommendations or restaurant bookings. The hotel is situated in one oldest buildings in Cape Town and is beautifully renovated by the owner Johan- a very approachable gentleman that will go the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied with our Labotessa experience. Claudine and Tony will welcome you with a smile each morning or evening and will always be keen to hear about your day in much detail. Our room was specious and beautifully appointed, the breakfast which is served in adjacent cafe has plenty to choose from- everything was fresh and well cooked (must try the apple cake). The location is perfect and just in the centre of the city. Very special thank you Johan,Martijn, Claudine, Tony and their teams for making it an effortlessly luxurious experience. Top place and highly recommended, if it was up to us we would be back in an instant.

My husband stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon. Service and location was excellent and the staff is available around the clock for recommendations and assistance. The room was very clean- quaint but just what we needed for our stay. It’s conveniently located in a little square with restaurants within 2 minute walk which worked out perfectly after one long day of touring Cape Town

In a city renowned for hospitality, Derwent House stands out as one of Cape Town's leading boutique guesthouses. Located in the heart of the vibrant Tamboerskloof/Gardens neighbourhood, this small hotel combines historic charm, contemporary Afro-chic style and all mod-cons for a uniquely Capetonian blend of ambience, warmth, and comfort. Our wonderful team completes the picture -- we go the extra mile for you and our guests leave as friends. We love colour and celebrate African design - you'll find it everywhere. But when it comes to the basics - like breakfast, bedding, showers, climate control, Wi-fi or news from home - we don't compromise so you don't have to. At Derwent House, you're steps away from the hustle and buzz of Kloof Street, with its collection of superb restaurants, bars and trendy boutiques--and just a few further to the nightlife hub of Bree and Long Streets. Yet just a short car journey from the Table Mountain cable car, the beaches of Clifton or Camp's Bay, and the V&A Waterfront. There's nowhere more central -- but come and see for yourself. We're waiting for you!
Lovely boutique hotel below Table Mountain. Beautiful interior with lovey amenities and a great selection for breakfast. Pool and hot tub are available. We booked a room with a deck that overlooks the pool and had a view of the harbor. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Berwen and Luca, who both went out of their way to make the stay friendly and personable.
