The Art Nouveau style hotel stands on a hill in Flüeli-Ranft, the workplace of the holy brother Klaus von Flue. The house was renovated for more than 2 years in compliance with national monument protection criteria, reopened in December 2011 and has now 83 rooms available equipped with the latest amenities. The restaurant "Veranda" with its picture window provides a clear view of the Sarneraa Valley and Glaubenberg ("faith mountain"). Culinary choices range from Obwalden to Swiss specialties. For lovers of Historic Hotels Perched on a terrace, the hotel was built in historicist style in 1896 and received its magnificent Art nouveau façade during an expansion in 1906. From 1988 onward, it was continuously renovated until a team of architects specialized in historic buildings took on the complete renovation project. For that, the hotel received an award in 2014. Four historic rooms still feature original Art Nouveau furniture. The 47-metre long veranda dating back to 1898 is the hotel
This is a "Belle-époque"-Hotel built in 1896, painstakingly restored to its original state. We stayed there before COVID in July 2020 with two friends. We had booked two twin-bed rooms with historical furniture and balcony. The rooms were charmingly old-fashioned with a breathtaking view, but bathrooms were quite modern. Everything clean. No television (we appreciated), WiFi functioning. The dinner was excellent and served in style, as was the breakfeast. The staff consisted mostly of friendly young people, to conclude from their language obviously recruited from the region. All of them seemed to be proud to serve in this local monument and we felt that we were taken care of kindly and personally. Afternoon tea is served on the sunny terrace. The surroundings are quiet, sleep excellent. The 500-year old house of Saint Nikolaus von Flüe is reached in 5 Minutes by foot, and his hermitage where he lived for decades without food is in a steep canyon behind the hotel, 15 Minutes by foot. Its quite clear that this old hotel has rooms of uneven quality and size. Some have historical furniture, some have modern furniture. Probably one should be prudent not to take the cheapest rooms.

Kempinski Palace Engelberg - Titlis Swiss Alps is easily accessible thanks to its central location in the center of the village. Only 40 minutes by car from Lucerne, the first and only international five—star hotel in Engelberg offers 129 rooms and suites with a stunning view on the beautiful mountain scenery. Thereby the historical and modern parts of the imposing building merge into a harmonious unity. The Kempinski Palace Engelberg provides countless unique facilities and experiences including a rooftop infinity pool as part of the spa or unique gastronomic offers with regional and seasonal products by the "Cattani" restaurant, "The Palace Bar" with Cigar Lounge and the restaurant "Wintergarden". Nine modern event & conference rooms and the historic Kursaal are specially tailored to the guest needs. In addition, the Kempinski Palace Engel berg and its picturesque surroundings offer a variety of leisure activities in summer and winter.
We left the Kempinski Engelberg with very positive impression - starting from the beautifully restored historical building to the excellent service and the fabulous views. The Junior Suite was elegant and comfortable. The SPA is relaxing and large. Service was top-notch - every staff member we interacted with was super friendly and genuinely cared about the guest experience. Food in the main restaurant was great - the degustation menu is worth trying. The breakfast was the only part where we weren’t happy - again, the quality of the food was high, but the breakfast dishes were lacking in the way they were prepared + they were poorly presented. Other than that, it was a perfect stay and I wouldn’t hesistate to return.

Beautiful rooms overlooking the lake, small but pleasant SPA, fantastic restaurant with a gorgeous terrasse and a choice between excellent thai and european food, good service and last but not least, they have bycicles for their guests to enjoy free of charge which is a great bonus for us. They also run the "Wylerbädli", a small beach restaurant on the shores of lake Sarnen, which is a short walk from the hotel. The lady that runs the place is extremely friendly and the food she prepares is very fresh and tasty. We really enjoyed spending time "at the beach" surrounded by such a beautiful landscape and overall lovely athmosphere! Thank you very much for everything, we will be back!

Our guest house is located in the heart of Central Switzerland, nestled in the beautiful mountains of Obwalden? Directly at the north end of the Lake Lungern - just 80 steps from the Kaiserstuhl train station. Whether you come for a coffee on our sun terrace, or indulge with our menu. Or just want to be in our cozy hotel guest: You are exactly right. Take your time? Because this is just part of the Hotel & Restaurant Kaiserstuhl.
We stopped here late evening completely unplanned as we were driving through Switzerland and didn’t make it to our original destination. We were attracted by the cosy lighting and warm exterior, and the fact that so many cars were parked outside (a good sign). We initially just wanted a quick dinner before getting back on the road and were greeted warmly by the team. RESTAURANT: - Very spacious. Lovely cosy interior with extensive use of natural wood. Feels like you’re in ski chalet or Christmas already. Traditionally Swiss - Extremely clean and hygienic. Spotless bathrooms. - Delicious river trout. I had it served whole and my husband had it as fish and chips. Our face lit up when they put our food in front of us. And we were even happier when we took our first bites. Tender trout paired with generous fresh vegetables. Perfect chips. Crispy deep fried fish fillet but still juicy inside. We cleaned our plates. - I ordered a bowl of their soup. Our waitress was so keen to ensure that we liked the taste that she let us taste it first. Extremely thoughtful. - All their vegetables are locally sourced from nearby farms. Fish from the lake next to the restaurant. - No space for desserts but we had a shot of their delicious homemade schnapps. - Lovely Swiss wines! (We day this after a trip to Burgundy). I think they keep all the good stuffs in Switzerland;) - Super friendly and thoughtful service. Our waitress just really wanted us to have a good time and took time to explain things to us in English and was patient with my limited German. HOTEL: - We had a room with spacious terrace (shared with the next room) and view of the mountains and the lake (from the corner of our terrace). - The room was cosy, well-appointed. Bright and airy. The hardwares are all high quality. You have all the basic things you need (even toothbrush). Needless to say, spotlessly clean. - Power shower with extremely stable hot water! I can imagine staying here in winter with no issues. - just need softer bedsheets but we slept very well. - loved waking up to an amazing view outside our windows - breakfast was buffet style. Had the best buttery and flakey croissant (better than most of the ones we’ve had in France, where we were before Switzerland!) high quality cheese and charcuterie. Selection was not the widest but more than sufficient. - we saw a staff member clearing away the water condensation on the tables outside and plucking dead leaves from the plants while we were having breakfast. Just really nice attention to detail. We would happily come back to stay anytime. Thank you!

The reason for only 2 stars I will come to in a moment. The site is in a fantastic location in a valley surrounded by huge mountains with easy access to cable cars and signed walking / cycle routes. The scenery is breathtaking. Most of the plots are spacious with a couple of crystal clear streams running through the site. The toilet / shower blocks are modern and spotless. Staff are friendly, the shop is very well stocked but very expensive although this is Switzerland ! The reason for only 2 stars - We booked this site on a Saturday and arrived 2 days later on the monday to find there were substantial groundwork’s going on with 2 large trenches 1 going across the campsite and the other down a lot of the middle. At 7am on all 3 days we were woken by a digger, dumper truck and a ground compressor which were very very noisy. When we returned to the campsite on each day they were still at work with the same noise. They finished at around 5pm. O the first morning I did complain stating that they really should state the current work on their website. I was told it did state this on the website but was removed before they realised the work needed to go on for a further week, I received what seemed like a begrudging apology and told she would ask her boss to see if they could give us a reduction in the rate. Two days later we left with no further comment or reduction in the rate. It wasn’t really about the money it was just so disappointing to have the horrendous noise around you when the surrounding mountains are so quiet and peaceful. If it wasn’t for the work and the seemingly complete lack of awareness or understanding from the staff I would have given this site 5 stars

The stately house with almost 100 years of history offers all the amenities for a relaxing stay. It was completely rebuilt and renewed in 2019. Upon entering, your gaze is drawn to the historic wooden staircase that connects all floors of the house. The breakfast and lounge room with access to the garden is located on the mezzanine floor. On the two floors above there are 6 guest rooms with 2 spacious bathrooms and an additional guest toilet. The library with access to the balcony offers privacy to work, read or just relax. The home cinema and the house bar with chilled drinks and snacks are located in the sous-terrain. The interior is decorated in light colors and in Nordic style. The garden pavilion complements the offer, for example to enjoy breakfast or read a book in the pleasant shade during the warm season.
A cozy place, we slept very well in a clean and nice room. The owner is gentle and was really helpfull with us. I raccomend it absolutely. It is just in front of the station, really practice if you travel by public transport.

Hotel Garni Hostatt is an excellent choice for travelers visiting Engelberg, offering a romantic environment alongside many helpful amenities designed to enhance your stay. The hotel offers express check-in and check-out, baggage storage, and a coffee shop, to make your visit even more pleasant. The property also features a snack bar. Guests arriving by vehicle have access to free parking. During your visit, be sure to check out a popular Engelberg ribs restaurant such as Restaurant Yucatan, which is a short distance from Hotel Garni Hostatt. If you’re looking for things to do, you can check out Kloster Engelberg - Benediktinerabtei (0.6 mi) or Titlis Bridge (1.2 mi), which are popular attractions amongst tourists, and they are all within walking distance. Enjoy your stay in Engelberg!
This is a nice hotel, located at the edge of town. It's very clean, the staff is welcoming, and there is a good buffet breakfast in the morning. The place doesn't serve dinner. It's about a 20 min walk to get to the town center. It's about a 7 min walk to Brunni ski lift (but this is not the main one---this area is really small). To get to the main ski lift-- Titlis-- you have to take a bus, takes about 10 min. The bus stop is a 3 min walk from the hotel. Busses are free.

The modern hotel is situated 200 meters from the historic town square. New bathrooms and renovated rooms and junior suites make you feel good. Guests can relax in the wellness area with various attractions and a splendid view of the picturesque Landenberg. The gastronomy offers exciting contrasts between rustic and urban. Besides fresh, regional and seasonal delicacies a wide selection of fine Swiss wines and fruit brandies are offered. The terrace of the Hotel Krone is one of the most popular places of Sarnen and has become the meeting place for locals and guests. Free WiFi and free parking.
Been to this hotel's restaurant a couple times already and really must recommend. The service staff are genuinely sweet and offer top-notch service especially to tourists. The food is consistently high quality, beautifully plated, piping-hot, fresh and enjoyable. I have just not even been slightly disappointed with this restaurant. Yesterday, my husband and I dined on Schnitzel and fries... crispy schnitzel, excellent, hot fries and some insanely mouthwatering ice-cream creations for dessert. Looking forward to trying their weekly lunch specials which are reasonably priced for Swiss standards. Their outdoor seating patio is comfortable and perfect for people-watching in this delightful city in Central Switzerland.

Ideally located at the foot of Mount pilatus, the Landgasthof Schluessel and its affable team are welcoming guests from near and far in Alpnach. The cozy hotel rooms have their own special charme; five of them will be redecorated in 2015. The kitchencrew receives you with the slogan ,,Old recipes - fresh ideas" and will pamper you with local specialities - take a seat in our restaurant or our cozy garden and let us surprise you! It would be a pleasure for us to help you organize an unforgettable event, banquet or party in our different event locations. The young hosts love to provide insider tips regarding the region, since Alpnach is ideally located in the heart of Central Switzerland. Famous mountains like Pilatus or Stanserhorn can be seen right from your hotel room, the lake of Lucerne lies within walking distance from the restaurant and the pittoresque city Lucerne can be reached within a few minutes drive.
Small hotel on the Main Street close to the Pilatus cog wheel mountain railway. Friendly reception staff who are helpful and welcoming. Rooms are in the smallish side but neat and clean with complementary water. Bathroom was small but had basic amenities which was good. Room was modern even though it’s an old building. Breakfast was a big let down. Cold boiled eggs, some cheese, yogurt, fruits, juices and cereal plus tea/coffee. When we asked for fried eggs we were informed that we could only get them at 9am. The young girl who was looking after the guests was in a bad mood and was not happy to see us at breakfast. We did not see any other guests whilst we were there. On the night we stayed there we visited the on-site restaurant but were informed that it was fully booked so must be very popular. Reasonably priced stay and I wish the breakfast was better.
