My partner and I have just returned from a two night break at Bodmin Jail Hotel. From the moment we,arrived we were amazed at the set up of this Hotel The whole experience was wonderful The rooms are tastefully done and very much in keeping with the former jail.. As was the Chapel Restaurant and The Jolly Hangman. The staff were all so friendly we even had a meet with Mark the head maintence man. Who gave us the run down on how the Hotel was built and he was so informative and passionate about it also the reception staff were always, ready to advise The tour of the museum was one we will never forget and can't wait to visit again .

Sunday carvery. We visited for Sunday lunch and were very impressed with the food and service. Lovely carvery with great selection of vegetables, beef was cooked perfectly. Our waitress and the carvery server were both friendly and polite, very accommodating. We then enjoyed a coffee on the lovely sunny terrace after our meal. This would have been a perfect 5* experience for us except when we got home and I saw the receipt I noticed we had been charged for an extra drink that we did not have. When my husband called to query this as we were already at home he was asked to come back! This would have cost as much in petrol as the extra drink. He did receive a call back later on where they refunded this but made a point of saying the waitress had gone home so couldn’t check? When we were waiting to pay another lady was querying desserts on their bill so I would suggest checking your receipt before leaving in future! This was a shame after a lovely lunch and I do appreciate mistakes easily happen, it’s how they are put right that can make the difference. We wouldn’t be put us off visiting again soon.

The hotel was in the area where we wanted to stay. Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Clean room and hotel. Restaurant attached. Reasonable price. Comfortable bed. Quiet location. We will stay there again if we want to stay in the area.

Built in 1745 this lovely building still retains its charm with its original stone floors and converted courthouse on the first floor. Now a comfortable hotel located close to Padstow & Fowey.
We stayed for 1 night and we’re not impressed. The room was fine but dated and one of those rooms that just needed a bit more thought; like a kettle lead that reaches to a socket next to the tea set. What really put me off was the used sanitary products left in the bathroom bin, plus a few cobwebs here and there. The bathroom was dated and a low power shower that just annoyed me with its lack of power! Breakfast was good, but timings that we had been given were different to that in the room info. The hotel is on a main road, which is busy and noisy. The biggest issue is the cost for B&B - more expensive than most 5 * hotels. Would I recommend a stay - nah,

The Westberry Hotel & Restaurant is AA 2-star rated and offers an elegant balcony restaurant with adjoining lounge and bar. The hotel also offers a premier dining room and function suite with bar, suitable for both family and business events up to around 120 persons. All of our 21 bedrooms are en-suite, offering television, ironing facilities, telephone, free wireless internet access and tea/coffee-making facilities. A full breakfast (English, continental or speciality) is included in cost of every room. In the evening our elegant panoramic Terrace restaurant overlooking the town serves a fine dinning quality selection of local, English, European and Oriental dishes.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at this hotel and restaurant. Having celiac disease is no fun but at The Westberry the food was superb and the chef even produced a starter which was not on the menu. It was so good I had the same the second night and so did my partner. Main courses were equally as delicious. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean and well placed for touring Cornwall. I would highly recommend to anyone.

From the moment you walk through the front door you are made very welcomed by Jenny and her team. We arrived for a night of paranormal investigation followed by a great night sleep in a comfortable bed. In the morning had a full English breakfast which was delicious and nothing was to much trouble. Looking forward to returning again soon.

10 out of 10 for customer service. I can not comment on the rest as I did not see it. I booked through booking.com ( it was only £25.00) and decided to ignore the bad reviews and take a risk, as the Inn was under new management and was being refurbished. When I arrived they did not have a room for me, although they were fully booked, Booking.com was still taking bookings and sending them to the old management. There was no fuss, the Manager just took me around to the hotel next door, and paid for me to stay there. He told me it was not the first time this had happened but they could not seem to get Booking.com to stop doing it! He could have just given me my £25.00 and left me to my own devices, but he booked me into the hotel next door and paid the difference, which was significantly more. Excellent customer service. Thank you! Very odd that I am unable to leave a review on Booking.com, I wonder why :) Good job I took a printout of my booking with me.

We had a great stay at Mennabroom in May 2022. Deborah and Ian were wonderful hosts, great conversation. And Ian had some great suggestions on places to visit, etc. The area is amazing, and the location so peaceful and beautiful. Room was great, with a very large bathroom. Breakfast was also outstanding. Stay here!

Set in a picturesque valley in Mid Cornwall overlooking fields of cows and sheep and a meandering stream. Tregolls has a choice of either en-suite bedrooms or Self Catering Holiday Cottages. The closest town to Tregolls is Wadebridge (4.5 miles, with the Camel Trail Cycle/Footpath going through. Wadebridge offers a good selection of independent shops and good quality eateries. Eden Project(south) and Padstow(north)are both 20 minutes drive away from Tregolls. We have Pets Corner, Games Room, Childrens Play area, Farm Trail which links to Saints Way Footpath
Beautiful cottages just 10 minutes from wadebridge. Comfy beds and amazing bedding. On site games room with pool was a nice bonus as was the new climbing frame for the kids. Feeding the lambs and goats with farmer Lester was great and my nephew enjoyed collecting eggs. Fast Internet smart tv surrounded by fields of cows and sheep offered the best parts of a modern house and a beautiful rural location. Great hosts and scones jam and cream on arrival. We stayed in honeysuckle which was a great size for a small family and the rest of the family stayed in blackberry. Will be returning.
