Excellent stopover for our Motorcycle group. The Accommodation was clean and neat and the staff were extremely helpful. Although there were no meals served the staff assisted us with bookings for both dinner and breakfast. A good location right in the Main Street would stay again.

The Blue Cow Barn – Boutique Farm Accommodation is located on the beautiful Altona farm, which is visible from the road as you enter Barrydale on the R62 and offers exclusive boutique farm-style accommodation. Just follow the signs and visit the Blue Cow at the Barrydale Waterfront Coffee Shop, they will direct you. Accommodation consists of 3 self-catering units. These fully equipped and beautifully decorated units each have an en-suite bathroom. Guests also have access to private parking, outside braai facilities, big lawns and a veranda with beautiful views. One can also enjoy a leisurely walk on the farm and explore the vegetable gardens or have a swim in the dam. The farm is situated 1 km from the town center, offering easy access to the necessities. Come and live on the farm for a day, or even a week, as this is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The Cooke family has owned Altona and Tradouwshoek farms for more than 100 years.
The days at Blue Cow Barn were exactly what we had hoped for - a really nice cottage, peaceful surroundings, right at the edge of Barrydale. Our hostess Hanette was amazing, breakfast in the restaurant was great, but really special was the Sunday breakfast on our verandah, brought to us personally by Hanette, We absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay, thank you.

Esme and her husband were very friendly and helpful, going beyond what would normally be expected. Your assistance was greatly appreciated. The room was attractively decorated, clean and neat. Ideal for a quick overnight stop while away on business.

Welcome to Sorgvry House of Guests. Where Germany meets South Africa in style, elegance, friendliness and superb hospitality with a full, delicious, continental breakfast. Luxurious guest house offering peace, quiet and a carefree experience.
We stayed one night and was greatly surprised by how welcome the owners Uwe and Carel made us feel. Their house offers carefree relaxation in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are decorated with finesse, a taste for oriental grandeur and cosiness, and are impeccably clean. We ate a delicious, homemade breakfast on the porch, together with the others guests and the host. Our stay was a memorable one, and we will certainly return. Tor Magne and Joe from Norway

From the Perfect accommodating Host to the Fond farewell, Daphne was brilliant and so appreciated. She and Kevin took pains to make our group of six feel so welcome in their comfortable tidy well put together guest house even though we were only there for one night. It was fun to experiment with the fancy cappuccino machine. The comfy warm beds were so appreciated on a cool spring night. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Advertised as a Luxury Backpackers . This is certainly not . The room was not serviced properly after the previous guests . There are no facilities in the room , no cooking facility , crockery , cutlery , no dish towels etc , etc . Coffee and tea supplied . The room was in total disrepair , broken blinds and un kept ! The exterior was littered with cigarette buts old guttering and dirt . The pool as advertised was worse than a farm dam , disgusting and unusable !

This is the best 4 star country hotel in the whole of the Klein Karoo! An ideal stop-over between Cape Town and the Garden Route, a must-stay for any visitor! Best food and most comprehensive wine list in the whole of the Klein Karoo! Restaurant has just won the Klein Karoo Gourmand Award ! We have a few signature dishes, reflecting the ethos of the Chaîne des Rộtisseurs, the international gastronomical guild dedicated to the camaradie of the table. Some of these dishes are unique to the Karoo. Loads of historic character. Most friendly staff. Rooms with balconies and views available. Character bar and great restaurant. Huge swimming pool for hot summer days. Many open fireplaces for the winter nights! Karoo hospitality. The hotel is an art gallery with many paintings by local artists on display and for sale. Some rooms with cable TV available. Staff are keen to share local things to do and to see with guests. We even have a private 40 seater private cinema for use by our guests!
We had a delightful two-night stay at the Karoo Art Hotel in Barrydale. The hotel has been revamped by new owners, Rick and Sue Melvill, and the result is wonderful. There was a small mix up with our room when we arrived but otherwise we had a great time. The room was lovely, with a wood-burner to keep out the winter chill, lots of art work on the walls and sumptuous linen on the king size bed. We arrived late and decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant rather than trying to find anywhere else to eat. What a good decision! The lamb cutlets were outstanding, the service was good and the prices were very reasonable. The next night, the lamb curry was also very good. The hotel is bright and airy and the staff are all friendly, willing and HAPPY! I definitely recommend it as a stop over on route 62 or as a destination in itself.

This is a gem. It's difficult to find reasonably priced accommodation for single people. We were so delighted to find excellent value all round...spacious, well maintained, clean and elegant...actually more than we had hoped for. Thank you!
