Poor hotel - corridors dirty and set tone for the whole experience. Curtain hanging off and not remedied although we mentioned it - not enough towels and when they arrived they were cheap and nasty, bed hard and uncomfortable with a bottom sheet that didn’t fit, pillow felt as if it was stuffed with old socks, can’t be bothered to write anymore - AVOID

Our little dog had to have an operation in Banbury so we decided to stay over for 2 nights as several visits to the ophthalmologist were required. We chose Cromwell Lodge because they allow dogs. We were delighted to find it is a lovely old hotel with a nice bar area and restaurant. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and cooked to order. Dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced. Our room was suitably equipped and, being one allocated for use with pets, led straight out into the large garden. Everywhere was very clean. Most of all we were pleased to discover how kind, friendly and helpful the staff were. Special thanks to Kai and Amy for looking after us.

As previously mentioned the expiry of the lease means the tenant is no longer on site, he turned up promptly when we phoned though. Just us and a painter in the building - room was delightful, clean and comfortable. SO needs a window blind though ; I was awake at 4.40 watching an amazing sunrise over pretty Deddington (think I may have preferred an extra three hours sleep)!
