A smorgasbord of flavors come from this lofty land in the hilly southeast of Belgium: game, wild boar, venison, smoked ham, the region's famous paté and world-renowned Trappist beers. Primarily located in Belgium, the Ardennes mountains also nudge into France and Luxembourg. Dense forests flank the steep hillsides, and market towns and villages perch on river banks. Spring and summer show this lush area at its best, but cross country skiing opportunities make a good case for winter visits.

First of all the building is completely renovated with old details. There are 4 rooms in the B&B building. The one we had was with the mezzanine. The room is well decorated, very clean and had a beautiful / clean bathroom. The common area is amazing. A nice fire place that you can use, nice comfortable couches, a big window with a nice view and 2 big tables where they serve breakfast or where you can play a game.

Clean, comfortable, and very friendly reception staff. Each bed has its own plug and mini light, and each room has its own shower cubicle. The setting is also quaint and lovely as it is situated by the river, so you always have a great view while looking out the window. They have a good selection of beers, nice music in the afternoon and night and a great breakfast in the morning. There is really nothing to complain about except maybe for its proximity to the city center, as it takes quite a walk to get there...but hey...we all could use some exercise. If you end up in Namur, stay at this place and visit Piano bar too.

We were very well looked after and had a wonderful stay. Lovely hotel, fantastic food and excellent customer service. Nothing was too much trouble, all staff were extremely helpful. The fresh and plentiful breakfast set us up for our daily bike rides on the Vennbahn and the food in the restaurant was delicious. We loved the Brexit themed bar a great place to grab a quick beer. If you are looking for a stay in this area, look no more, highly recommended and we will stop again for sure

Had a great stay at this place. Spotlessly clean, friendly staff we were left to our own devices. Hot showers, lounge and dining area, comfortable beds, nice garden at the rear. Would stay again. If you are considering this for the F1 it is a bit out - no way to get there other than car. Restaurant nearby but too far to walk. Nice little coffee shop over the road open 7.00am - 7.00pm

The Malmedy Youth Hostel lies in the superb High Fens region of Belgium, not far from Germany. Being close to the countryside, it even has an ecological pond. Ideal for a change of scenery and relaxation, the hostel also offers numerous games and entertainments throughout the year (themed evenings, blind tests, dances, etc.). Sports enthusiasts will be delighted by the possibility of hiking, walks, cycling circuits, rock climbing, ziplines, volleyball and more. And there is no lack of culture, either, with the Malmundarium, a former monastery and now a major tourist attraction, or Stavelot Abbey! Families and groups of friends will be delighted to see the many games available at the hostel, including billiards, table football and air hockey, not to mention the playground.
We arrived late evening after a tough day’s trekking and - despite the fact there was a party night in progress (which they did warn us of well in advance) we were welcomed with efficiency and friendliness. The hostel is nicely located in the countryside in Bevercé - quite some distance outside of Malmedy itself- and that’s also perhaps it’s biggest drawback: Poor & infrequent public transport links - effectively nothing from early evening onwards. Combine that with the fact there are very few local taxis (‘though neither of these issues are the fault of the auberge) do make it extremely awkward unless you have your own transport. Plan to eat, drink & socialise within the hostel or you may feel cut-off. As for the accommodation - the rooms were clean with a nice, modern shower room, a separate toilet & central heating (important if you arrive mid-November with temperature around zero) Nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate. We were lucky to have a 6 bed dorm all to ourselves (see above party night) but can imagine it might feel a bit cramped when full. The breakfast and packed lunch we had were very good. Again, nothing fancy, but more than adequate. All in all, I’d say the hostel exceeded our expectations and was excellent value for money. Would be happy to try it out again in the spring or summer, but would be looking to hire bikes to eliminate the public transport issues. Having taken them up on their offer to join the aforementioned party, I can also attest to the fact that the drinks are economically priced and the young staff are just as enthusiastic on the dance floor as they are in dealing with guests! As my son is prone to say - Auberge De Jeunesse Malmedy “ticks all the boxes”

The Bouillon Youth Hostel towers majestically over the town and its famous medieval castle. This is without doubt the best panoramic view to be found among the youth hostels of Wallonia. Located near a small town and yet in the peaceful surroundings of the countryside, the hostel is the ideal starting point for hiking, kayaking on the Semois River or a quiet weekend as a couple, with the family or among friends. The hostel also offers accommodation in fully equipped gites for groups preferring to remain independent, close to the main building. You can enjoy the same facilities, such as access to the bar or the possibility of booking meals. So make the most of your stay in the land of Godfrey of Bouillon !
Expected to come here and have a lovely experience in Belgium and have an amazing trip away however we were appalled with the standards in general and will definitely not be returning again. Firstly we were appalled with the false pictures on the website compared to the rooms we received in our stay. Next the sheets we had for our bedding had blood stains on them as well as being warned not to have skin to skin contact with the duvets incase of illness. And then finally you couldn’t change the temperature on the showers easily and you could see clearly through the bathroom windows which is a complete lack privacy when showering. In addition to this only one of three plugs in a six person bedroom work and it causes a lot of inconvenience. Also the food I had on my first night was so catastrophic that I had to buy my own food the following evening to continue my stay in the hostel.

Tired of city stresses? Champlon Youth Hostel = the place to unwind. You will undoubtedly be pleasantly surprised by its relaxed, family atmosphere. The motto here is: "relax"!For nature lovers, this hostel will delight you with its numerous features. Green or snow-covered landscapes, deer and beavers, cross-country skiing, authentic, local food…what more could you ask for?Don’t be put off by its seemingly isolated location: the hostel is very easily reached by road.
