Stay below the impressive Glyder mountains with views of the Nant Ffrancon Valley at this former quarry manager’s cottage. Recently refurbished and great for families, you can be sure of a warm welcome at this environmentally-conscious hostel. All levels of walks can be found in the immediate area, and you won’t need to travel far for world-class mountain bike trails. It’s perfectly placed for strolls to see Rhaeadr Ogwen Waterfalls or Cwm Idwal nature reserve (with its dramatic lake) and Devil’s Kitchen.
A little gem nestled in an awesome location with its own private car park (glad it has its own otherwise parking would be a problem). It’s ideally located for walkers to discover the Ogwen Valley or to venture to Anglesey or Snowdon. The hostel itself is a little beauty, I had the single bedroom. Perfect for solo travellers or families. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

A mountain hostel set in the heart of the stunning Snowdonia National Park crafted as a base camp for adventurers, mountain gurus, ramblers, and those with a genuine love for the outdoors. This family run, 5 star dog-friendly hostel sits just off the A5, the main artery of Snowdonia. It can be found nestled just minutes away from Betws-y-Coed, the Ogwen Valley and the Snowdon Horseshoe. If it is location that you are after, then The Rocks at Plas Curig offers the perfect base for you from which to explore. With breathtaking walks direct from the door, from the novice to expert you can be on top of a mountain a thousand metres above sea level in the morning and sat on the beautiful sands of one of our many blue flag beaches in the afternoon. Snowdonia and the beautiful North Wales coastline has something for everyone. Nestled underneath Moel Siabod and peeking over the River Llugwy, it is quietly tucked away in the ancient mountain village of Capel Curig. Within easy reach of the hostel just minutes down the road, stands the stunning Snowdon - the highest mountain in Wales and England.
We only stayed for one night as we were heading to Zip World the next day. It was a last minute decision to book some accommodation. Needless to say, the prices were all very high so we decided on this hostel as something different for the kids too. Our room was ready as soon as we checked in just after 5 ( strictly no arriving before 5) and was exactly what you'd expect in a luxury hostel including the comfiest beds ever! The kids loved the uniqueness of the funky bunk beds and the games in the communal area. We'd definitely come back but not leave it too last minute to book! P.S Best bacon in the cafe next door!

Deep in the beautiful mountain scenery of North Wales, YHA Snowdon Llanberis is located on the doorstep of Snowdonia National Park - and is a ten minute walk from Llanberis High Street. From the hostel you can walk up Snowdon. Alternatively, from the village you can catch a train up to the top of Snowdon or along Llyn Padarn, explore the history of the region at the Slate Museum, or visit Electric Mountain. YHA Snowdon Llanberis is an ideal base for families, individuals and groups of walkers, cyclists and climbers who want easy access to the fantastic mountain trails, rivers, lakes and attractions of Snowdonia.
Llanberis is a small town surrounded by beautiful views of Wales mountains. We stayed in one of the YHA hostel cabin which is a perfect choice for a family trip like this. The cabin looked like new. It was very clean and has comfi beds.

The hostel is situated on hill just outside the town walls of Conwy in large grounds with a summer house, barbecue and picnic area. There are spectacular views from the roof terrace of the ancient medieval town of Conwy and the North Wales coastline. The town centre with its pubs, tea shops and local attractions is just a 10 minute walk away. The Conwy Castle is well worth a visit and the quayside is great for sitting back and watching the yachts and fishing boats go by. If after a hard days sightseeing you don’t feel like cooking enjoy one of our evening meal specialties such as Welsh lamb casserole or Lemon and Herb salmon. We even have a special children’s menu with old favourites like Fish Fingers and Chips and Bangers and Mash.
It was the first time staying in a YHA hostel which I had booked as a last minute trip for my six year old and me. The hostel is in an ideal location for the town of Conwy within walking distance of the main sights shops and restaurants. The facilities were great and my son particularly enjoyed the games room. The room and en suite were spotless and staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent value for money and I will certainly be booking to stay at other hostels in future.

The accommodation was exactly as advertised, very clean and the staff were brilliant! Great atmosphere in the pub and dining area. We used this hotel to climb Snowdon so we left early hours of the morning and the manager was understanding! Will definitely return again! Thank you.

Ideally situated for all that North Wales and Snowdonia have to offer, it's the perfect place to relax, explore and discover the dramatic scenery from coast to mountain. It's perfect for your next adventure. Unlike many hostels, all rooms at Basecamp Wales are private. We have a mixture of en suite bedrooms or private bedrooms with shared bathroom facilities. Sorry but we do not accept pets. No group bookings, we are a family friendly hostel and do not accept bookings for stag/hen/party groups. The hostel is located in the countryside, the closest shops/takeaways are 1.1 miles away, closest bus stop is 1 mile, ideally transport is required if staying with us.
Basecamp was a super place to stay as a base to explore Wales. Idyllic quiet location overlooking Snowdon. Tim & Tom were great hosts, friendly & helpful, offering local knowledge. All basic amenities you would need were available. The self-catering kitchen had everything you could need, along with tea, coffee, cereal and eggs laid by their chickens, with an honesty box for the suggested donations. My balcony overlooked Snowdon a great view. All the pictures on Basecamps site are a good an accurate representation of the property

This unique bunkhouse is extremely well equipped, sleeping a total of 36 in spacious comfortable rooms of 4, 6, and 8, all with clean fresh linen, duvets and personal reading lamps. Self catering facilities with complimentary tea and coffee in a large well equiped kitchen. Seriously hot showers, freshly cooked food for individuals or groups who do not wish to prepare their own and a great bar for entertainment.
Stayed here with a group of 16. Staff were very welcoming, rooms were spotless, beds comfy. The pizza was amazing and very good value, as was the breakfast - perfect fuel for mountain climbing. The hostel also has a bar that serves a good selection of beers staff were very accomodating with opening the bar when we wanted. Only a short walk into town with a good selection of pubs and restaurants. 20 minute drive to Pen y Pass to trek up snowdon. Thanks Neil and the team

At Llangollen Hostel you're assured of a happy and comfortable stay, freedom to come and go as you please, and above all, a warm welcome.
I stayed here for 3 nights in early November. Don't let the word Hostel put you off. Yes, it isn't a luxury hotel, but it isn't luxury hotel prices either. The staff are lovely and so helpful and chatty. Everything is clean and there is all you need for a comfortable and cosy base. The parking is convenient and cheap for the location. Llangollen is beautiful and this is a great place to stay when you visit. We didn't have time to make use of the lounge, but it looked really comfy and cosy. We had a room each, with comfortable beds and tea/coffee makings. Nice views too. Would definitely stay again!!!

Another pleasant visit to this site and will keep returning. Wide pitch, good facilities. Small enough so not full of partying campers, just a laid back friendly atmosphere. Close to Dolgellau so an ideal location to start from for trips to miles around.
